Gorgeous Garland is searching for a home all her own
Happy Forever Home Tuesday, friends! We took a quick trip over to East Montpelier, Vermont for this week's newest Forever Home episode. We met up with Sara from the Central Vermont Humane Society, and that's where she introduced us to a gorgeous gal who has been at the shelter since just before Christmas. Cuddly girl, Garland is more than ready for her Forever Home and endless amounts of snuggles. Garland is a gorgeous 5 year old girl who loves to be right by the side of her humans. She is a very healthy, lean dog who walks really well on a leash. In fact, she has really honed her leash walking skills lately and CVHS wants to make sure that continues through Garland's transition to her new Forever Home. That's why Garland's adoption also comes with a good behavior training to ensure she's on the right track. From personal experience, we think Garland is very well behaved and a fun-loving girl. Garland is the kind of dog that will greet you after a long day at work with some full body wiggles and tail whips just to know how happy she is to see you. Her puppy dog eyes will melt your heart before she curls up next to you with her super soft coat. Garland is a healthy girl and has no dietary restrictions. The reason CVHS thinks she has been at the shelter for so long is because she needs to be the only pet in the house. Otherwise, Garland would make a great first dog for any family. She is such a sweetheart. If you're interested in finding out more about Garland or you're wanting to send in an adoption application before she gets snagged up, then you can head on over to the Central Vermont Humane Society's website. Let's find Garland that home she has been wanting since Christmas morning. Share her story and give her the visibility she needs to land in a fantastic, loving, new Forever Home. Sweet bonded cat duo looking for their ‘Forever Home'
Our favorite time of week has made the rounds again as it is Forever Home Tuesday. This week, we reconnected with Queen City Cats and the Queen City Cat Lounge in Burlington. That's where we met a bonded pair of felines named Kitten and Rainbow. They are the perfect pair for each other and would make awesome, laid-back additions to your family home. Rainbow, coincidentally, is the black male cat with stellar yellow eyes. There's even a light blue ring around those yellow eyes, eyes that stand right out amongst his slick, black coat. Rainbow is what the cat community would consider almost like a 'spirit cat'. He is very independent, hesitant about human touch, but loves being in a safe environment where he has a good vantage point to look out onto others. It's important to note that Rainbow, while he may not want a lot of attention, is a super smart boy. He is very food motivated and loves the little Churu gogurt-like tubes of wet food. However, he also loves trying to figure out how to get dry food from out of a puzzle food mat. Rainbow has quite a bit of success with those puzzles but when he gets bored, he's always done for some stringy toy action. That playtime is usually enough to tire him to the point of needing a cat nap, which sometimes is in a secluded spot but that's just part of Rainbow's unique personality. Rainbow's bonded pair is a feline named Kitten. You'd never know they were brother and sister just by looking at their beautiful markings. Their colors are total opposite, but it plays up their differing personalities in that regard. Rainbow, the black cat, is more one speed when it comes to human interaction. Kitten, full of stripes and color, has a little bit more energy and willingness to be around people. Kitten, just like her brother, is very food motivated but also loves playing with her stringy toys. Kitten is such a good girl with a sweet face, and yes, even a little bit of a smile or smirk. If you look closely enough, Kitten has what looks like an upside-down mustache on her chin which kind of outlines her 'smile'. The purrr-fect adopters for Kitten and Rainbow include a family who doesn't mind two laid back cats that like to play and interact with humans on their own time. Outside of those minor requirements, these two are in very good health and have no dietary restrictions. They are ready to be adopted, like, yesterday. If you would like more information about how to welcome Kitten and Rainbow into your heart and home, simply visit the Queen City Cats website. Lastly, we would love to extend a congratulations to Queen City Cats for celebrating their 3 year anniversary of being a cat rescue for the greater Burlington area. Thanks to Queen City Cats, many folks have been able to save, foster, and adopt these furry friends who may not have found homes otherwise. We cannot thank Queen City Cats and the Queen City Cat Lounge enough for all they do for the homeless cat population in the Green 'Meow-ntain' State. Copyright 2025 Nexstar Media, Inc.
