ACB summons KTR in Formula E case, he says will appear after his trip abroad

The Telangana Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) Monday issued a fresh notice to Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) working president K T Rama Rao, asking him to appear before the agency in the ongoing investigation into alleged financial irregularities in hosting 2023 Hyderabad ePrix as part of the 2022-23 Formula E World Championship. While Rao, known as KTR, has been asked to appear for questioning on May 28, the BRS leader conveyed his pre-planned travel commitments to the UK and US, and said he would not be able to do so. He said he would join once he was back in the city. 'As a law abiding citizen, will definitely cooperate with the agencies even though the case is nothing but pure political harassment,' the former minister wrote on his social media handle. The ACB has given me a notice to appear for an enquiry on the 28th of May in the Formula E case As a law abiding citizen, will definitely cooperate with the agencies even though the case is nothing but pure political harassment As I have planned to leave for the UK & USA for… — KTR (@KTRBRS) May 26, 2025 'As I have planned to leave for the UK & USA for multiple events much in advance, will appear in front of them the moment I come back. Informed the same to ACB Officials in writing. But I should appreciate Revanth Reddy for his thirst for political vendetta and the way he swings in any direction without any scruples, to achieve the same,' he added. Condemning the notice to KTR, his sister and party MLC Kalvakuntla Kavitha took to her social media handle and wrote: 'I strongly condemn the malicious issuance of notices to @KTRBRS by Revanth Reddy's government, as a conspiracy to cover up their failures and divert attention from public issues. It is clear that the ACB notices have been issued as part of Chief Minister Revanth Reddy's cunning political game'. 'The continuous issuance of notices to our party leaders clearly reveals a political ulterior motive behind it. KCR's soldiers have a history of enduring and standing firm, no matter how many difficulties anyone tries to create,' she added. Former minister T Harish Rao, a cousin of KTR, also responded. 'Mr @revanth_anumula Vendetta politics is a clear sign of insecurity. Fabricated cases won't stand in court or win public trust. We stand with KTR. Truth will prevail. Satyameva Jayate!' During the BRS government, KTR, who was the municipal administration minister, allegedly directed Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) officials to illegally transfer a sum of Rs 55 crore to UK-based Formula E Operations (FEO), without approvals or following procedures, for hosting the next edition of Hyderabad ePrix in February 2024. Hyderabad withdrew from the race after the Congress assumed office in December 2023. KTR appeared before ACB for questioning on January 9. In the same case, he was also questioned by the Enforcement Directorate on January 16.

Image credit: Oliver Rowland/Instagram Nissan driver Oliver Rowland was among the favourites at the recently held Tokyo E-Prix, and it was a heartwarming sight to see him lifting the winner's trophy with his daughter sharing the podium as he fulfilled the expectations of his fans on Nissan's home soil. After securing the number two spot on the podium in Round 8, he went on to win the Round 9 race—his fourth victory of the 2025 Formula E World Championship . Sharing a post on his Instagram Stories, Rowland simply wrote, 'What a weekend.' Oliver Rowland takes over Japan Oliver Rowland has now won the Mexico E-Prix, Jeddah E-Prix Part 2, Monaco E-Prix Part 1, and Tokyo E-Prix Part 2. He currently sits at the top of the Formula E Driver Standings with 161 points. He holds a commanding lead, with Pascal Wehrlein in second place at 84 points. Oliver Rowland continues to share adorable pictures of his daughter on Instagram Stories as they explore Japan together. His daughter also accompanied him in the paddock when the Qualifying session was delayed due to rain. Fans were charmed by her cuteness, especially when she asked him to show his car. Speaking about his strategy after winning the Tokyo race, Rowland said, 'No words! I was not a master of strategy in the first half of the race, I was pretty disappointed in myself. But I figured out that everybody would kind of undercut me so I thought: 'I've got six minutes, I'll undercut them' and in the end it worked. I knew they would all react. I just had to make the progress on the first lap so it paid off today, but I was a bit lucky.' Sharing his plan for the road ahead, he added, 'I've always said that in Tokyo and Shanghai I need to keep pushing to extend the Championship lead. Going into Shanghai I'll have the same approach this year and then maybe after that we can start to think about the lead we've got.' Alex Dunne stock stays on the rise with McLaren F1 test drive

Ireland's Alex Dunne, who claimed his first victory in the FIA Formula Two series in Bahrain last month, has been testing a McLaren Formula One car at the Zandvoort seaside circuit in the Netherlands. Dunne competed in Formula Three last year but made the step up to F2 for 2025, racing with the Rodin team. He's also part of the McLaren F1 driver development programme. The 19-year-old from Offaly, managed by his father Noel, is also the McLaren Formula E Team's Reserve and Development Driver for the 2025 Formula E World Championship. Formula E is for electrically powered single-seater racing cars. Bening entrusted to test a McLaren F1 this week is another rung on the ladder in Dunne's development - though the jump up to F1 is a massive one. Indeed, Ireland hasn't had a driver in the F1 paddock since Eddie Irvine, who drove for the likes of Jordan and Ferrari. Before that, Derek Daly raced for Williams in 1982. Currently McLaren have their two drivers, Oscar Piastri and Lando Norris, under long-term contracts. The pair came home first and second respectively in the Miami Grand Prix last Sunday. Thus, the chances of Dunne getting to the F1 grid any time soon, at least with McLaren, would appear to be slim. Norris is under contract until the end of 2027, with Piastri signing a multi-year contract extension to stay with the British team until the end of the 2028 season. McLaren have had a huge upturn in fortunes in F1 recently after years in the doldrums. Piastri now leads the World Championship - an unimaginable scenario for the team only a few years ago. "Relatively, you can say I am close, but, realistically, I'm not even close to F1 yet." For now, Dunne will have to be content with racing in F2 and combining that with F1 testing as he has been doing in Zandvoort this week. There may a chance for Dunne to drive a McLaren at a race weekend as F1's rookie rules for this year state that each team must give over a minimum of at least four free practice session to junior drivers, with Norris and Piastri required to hand over a minimum of two sessions each. McLaren has yet to reveal its plans for its free practice appearances in 2025. "I think, naturally, motorsport is a performance-led thing, and I think, if I keep on going in the direction we're going at the moment, then I don't see why the chance of driving a Formula 1 car is impossible," Dunne told "I'm the only driver, obviously, in F2 as part of McLaren, so that will be something hopefully in my favour. "I think, if I just keep on focusing on myself… there's no point in me thinking about Formula One right now. I'm not an F1 driver. "Relatively, you can say I am close, but, realistically, I'm not even close to F1 yet. "So, there's no point in me thinking about F1, I just focus on what I can do in F2 and, if I keep on performing at a high level, then hopefully the opportunity will arise." Having started his career at the age of eight in garting, Dunne made his single-seater debut in the 2021 Spanish F4 Championship racing for the Irish-owned Pinnacle Motorsport outfit run by Kildare's John O'Hara. The following year Dunne was crowned the British F4 champion as well as the Italian F4 Championship vice-champion while in 2023 the Irish teenager was the vice-champion in the GB3 Championship with five wins to his credit that season. As well as continuing his development with the support of the McLaren Driver Development programme in 2024, he then competed in the FIA Formula 3 Championship with MP Motorsport, before making the step up to Formula Two in 2025. Dunne now lies in fourth place in F2, the feeder series to F1, after three rounds. The next round of the series takes place in Imola on 17-19 May.

Monaco E-Prix Round 6 winner Oliver Rowland delays celebrations for Round 7: 'Normally you'd be looking forward to the champagne but…'

Image credit: Formula E Oliver Rowland showed who's the boss on the first day of the Monaco E-Prix . The Nissan driver went on to win the Round 6 on Saturday, registering his third win of the 2024–25 Formula E World Championship . The 32-year-old hinted that they would have been enjoying the champagne after the sweet victory but since this is a double header, the party will have to wait till Sunday. The Round 7 of the Miami E-Prix is scheduled on Sunday. Oliver Rowland on his winning strategy Talking about his quick strategy that resulted in a win for him, Oliver Rowland said, 'You never know what to do with the strategy especially with these Pit Boost races - it's the second race but we kind of had a plan and we stuck to it. It was a bit trickier to pass Taylor [Barnard] to be honest, but we kept calm - even at the end I was pretty worried during that second Attack Mode: I dropped back to fifth and I was behind two Mahindra's, and I was like 'right now we need to get cracking', but great job by the team and very well executed.' The 32-year-old added, 'I was thinking Taylor was pushing the barriers of the rules at some points, but fair play to him - in the end we got the job done so it doesn't really matter. We've started the season really well, but it feels a bit different now. Normally you'd be looking forward to the champagne but you've already got one eye on tomorrow.' A key factor in Rowland's success was the strategic deployment of Pit Boost by Nissan, allowing him to overtake polesitter NEOM McLaren driver Taylor Barnard on Lap 13. Despite briefly losing the lead to Mahindra Racing's Nyck de Vries on Lap 26, Rowland masterfully utilised his final Attack Mode on Lap 27 to reclaim the lead, ultimately winning the race by a comfortable two-second margin. He has won three out of six races so far, including the Mexico E-Prix, Jeddah E-Prix Part 2 and the Monaco E-Prix Part 1.
