A Masterclass in Modern Wellness at Four Seasons Resort Maldives at Kuda Huraa
This summer, The Island Spa at Four Seasons Resort Maldives at Kuda Huraa welcomes globally renowned integrative medicine practitioner Ada Ooi for a limited-time residency. Guests will have the opportunity to recalibrate the nervous system, address health issues, and discover skin that glows from the inside out. From August 9 to 20, 2025, Ada will bring the expertise of her award-winning Harley Street clinic, 001 London, to the Maldives, offering a curated menu of diagnostic-led treatments that blend Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), neuropsychology, and holistic skincare. Designed for those seeking true, sustained wellbeing, the exclusive residency signals a bold step forward for The Island Spa as a destination for deeply personalised, results-driven wellness. Revered for her precision diagnostics, Ada helps address the root causes of a wide range of conditions including male and female fertility issues, fatigue, hormonal imbalance, skin concerns, emotional stress, and digestive discomfort. Her integrative approach combines acupuncture, herbal pharmacology, tuina, and dietary therapy alongside modern neurobiological insights. Against a glittering backdrop of Maldivian blues, Kuda Huraa guests can also discover Ada's signature MicroSculpt facial technique. Described by Harper's Bazaar as the 'Red Carpet League' of skincare, her revolutionary holistic techniques are trusted by A-list celebrities and global wellness insiders alike. 'The modern guest is no longer content with surface-level wellness,' says Didier Jardin, General Manager at Four Seasons Kuda Huraa. 'They're looking for substance, science and soul. Ada brings all three. Her residency reflects our vision for The Island Spa as a sanctuary of transformation.' Treatment highlights include: TCM Discovery (15 minutes, Complimentary) – A complimentary introduction to Traditional Chinese Medicine, ideal for curious first timers. INTEGRATV Health Consultation (30 minutes, USD 250) – A comprehensive diagnostic session resulting in a personalised wellness roadmap across diet, mental health, movement and more. Jesse Mendes Joins 2025 Lineup for Four Seasons Maldives Surfing Champions Trophy at Four Seasons Resort Maldives at Kuda Huraa
Brazilian surf star Jesse Mendes is the latest name to be announced for the 2025 Four Seasons Maldives Surfing Champions Trophy. A former Championship Tour contender and 2018 Triple Crown of Surfing winner, Mendes brings power, poise, and a penchant for alternative boards to the one-of-a-kind event hosted at Four Seasons Resort Maldives at Kuda Huraa. 'It's such a dream to get the call-up!' says Mendes. 'I remember I was with Adriano de Souza when he got his invitation a couple of years ago. He turned to me with the biggest smile and accepted straight away, because he said he didn't want to give Four Seasons time to change their minds! When surfers who've been going to competitions their whole lives react like that, you know an event is special. Now it's my turn and I can't wait!' With six legendary surfers riding a range of boards, and competition times staggered according to age, the Surfing Champions Trophy is as unique as it is popular with the legends who get invited. Competitors square off on single fin, twin fin and (thruster) tri-fin surfboards in the first three rounds, before the grand final is run on the surfer's board of choice to crown a champion. While 31-year-old Mendes carved out a career on the back of his powerful turns and prowess in the tube, since stepping away from full-time competition he has focussed on the more stylish side of surfing, doing so riding Album surfboards, which will serve him well at the Surfing Champions Trophy. 'Now that the pressure of the tour is gone, I only ride twin fins,' he shares. 'They are very forgiving and can generate a lot of speed, so I'm very excited for that division! I've already been talking to Matt Parker about the Surfing Champions Trophy — he's shaped boards for Josh Kerr and Coco Ho here before. We've come up with a few ideas together. He knows what to do; I just need to surf!' While the surfing takes centre stage, the experience at Kuda Huraa runs far deeper, something Mendes is keen to savour. 'I've been to the Maldives before and loved it,' he says. 'But to come back again and surf perfect waves with only two other people out, in a different and fun format, is the best. As for Four Seasons, bring on the food! Nothing beats surfing all day long, then coming back to an amazing meal, with my wife, on a paradise island.' From the flawless right-handers of Sultans to the laid-back luxury of the garden island, the Surfing Champions Trophy is as much about the setting as it is the surfing. Guests staying at Four Seasons Kuda Huraa during the contest can catch all the action from the Resort's luxury surf vessels, stationed beside the competition lineup for front-row viewing. With Mendes and Craig Anderson now confirmed, the excitement is building for a surf showdown like no other. Three more international invitees, plus one Maldivian wildcard, will be announced in the coming weeks. Make Every Wave Count with The Surf's Up Package Whether catching the very first swell or chasing the perfect carve, Four Seasons Resort Maldives at Kuda Huraa invites guests to ride, relax, and repeat. The Surf's Up package pairs expert coaching from Tropicsurf pros with guided surf excursions to some of the Maldives' most iconic breaks, all from the comfort of the idyllic island base. After a morning on the waves, restore body and mind with daily yoga and a rejuvenating massage at The Island Spa. The package also includes daily breakfast, round-trip speedboat transfers, top-tier surf gear, and more.

A Beach Villa Evolution Arrives at Four Seasons Resort Maldives at Kuda Huraa
Twice as much outdoor space, a redesigned layout, an extended pool, and a fresh airy palette: the new Beach Villas with Pool at Four Seasons Resort Maldives at Kuda Huraa are a night-to-day improvement on their former Beach Bungalow incarnations. Gone are the deep wood tones and intimate garden enclaves, replaced with lighter, brighter, larger and lovelier options for couples, honeymooners and young families. Positioned close to the shoreline with ocean, lagoon and sunrise views, each Beach Villa caters to three adults, or two adults and two children (below 12 years). Interiors now total 70 m2 (753.5 sq. ft.), while exteriors extend to 285 m2 (3,068 sq. ft.). Commenting on the final stage of the Resort's regeneration project, General Manager Didier Jardin said: 'Kuda Huraa has long been a haven for those seeking an intimate Maldivian home-from-home but we recognised the limitations of our bungalows in terms of layout, light and space. Our first ever Beach Villas embody the spirit of the island, where comfort, care, and the magic of the Maldives come together in a seamless flow.' Highlights of Kuda Huraa's new Beach Villas with Pool include: A fresh and inviting aesthetic : Deep wood tones give way to a lighter, palette with sea- and sun-inspired hints of teal, turquoise and tangerine. A redesigned layout to improve flow and functionality: A bright porch leads to a light-filled ensuite bedroom – with study and dining area – expanded to include a window-side daybed framed by ocean views. A reconfigured walk-in closet offers seamless bathroom access. All Beach Villas have an outdoor shower garden; some have family rooms. An elevated outdoor experience : The former dip pool is now a 36 m2 (388 sq. ft) pool, positioned to direct attention to ocean views. A new pergola with round custom-designed swing offers an Instagram-worthy retreat for relaxing, dining, or soaking up the sun. Stylish architectural and interior design: High-end designer pieces like the iconic B&B Italia armchair elevate the Beach Villa aesthetic. Contrasting materials, textures, and soft, organic lines enhance visual depth while architectural curves integrate each structure into the surrounding environment. Complimentary room features in each Beach Villa include daily fresh fruit, Kuda Spring drinking water, coffee and tea; twice-daily housekeeping with evening turndown, and beach essentials for children 12 and under. For guests seeking a truly effortless island escape, the Bed & Breakfast package offers the perfect way to begin each day in paradise: with a sumptuous buffet breakfast at Café Huraa included for two guests per bedroom (or four guests in a family villa or bungalow, and all guests in suites). Available for stays till December 20, 2026, subject to availability.
