Since TC's incarceration in 2004 at California's Calipatria State Prison, he has dedicated himself to highlighting his brother's story. He has poured his heart into his art, launching projects like the debut album "Free TC" in November 2015, aimed at raising awareness of his brother's plight and seeking to correct what he considers a wrong judicial ruling. During his electrifying performance at Coachella 2025, Dolla $ign created a stirring atmosphere that matched the emotional weight of his message. The stage was set to visually replicate a prison yard, complete with chain-link fences and barbed wire, reinforcing the reality of his brother's situation. A powerful video featuring TC was projected above the stage, displaying the brotherly bond that remains unyielding despite the physical barriers of incarceration. Accompanied by the harmonious sounds of a live choir, TC's voice echoed through the festival grounds, resonating with the vast audience. However, there were technical hitches - where the visuals appeared to loop, causing discrepancies between TC's lips and the lyrics. Yet, the profound message of love and solidarity transcended any technical flaws, capturing the struggles and the unbreakable bond that $ign shares with his brother. The line-up celebrated a blend of fan-favourite hits and new material, including tracks from his collaboration with Kanye West, 'Vultures 1'. While the reality of incarceration for his brother is heartbreaking, his commitment to portraying their relationship and fighting for justice continues to resonate through his music and advocacy.

Ty Dolla $ign virtually duetted with his brother from prison at Coachella

Ty Dolla $ign duetted with his brother Big TC from prison at Coachella. The rapper's sibling is currently serving a life sentence for murder at California's Calipatria State Prison, but he made an appearance at the festival in California on April 18, on a screen behind his brother singing in a pre-recorded clip. The moment came midway through the hip-hop star's set and featured the backing of a live choir. The set was also decked out like a prison yard with barbed wire and fencing. Ty also brought out the likes of Wiz Khalifa, YG, Tyga, and Leon Thomas. TC was sent down in 2004, and in 2015, Ty released the album 'Free TC'. He later admitted that his sibling being sent to prison felt like he'd died. He told Vice the following year: 'Have you ever had a family member die? It's basically that. He's basically dead. It's like hell, almost. A living hell. Luckily, you can reach out and you can go see him, but it's like, he's basically dead. It's like if a family member dies. I want him back, man. He's a f****** human man. Imagine if you had someone stripped from the family, man. That s*** is f***** up man.' Defending his character, Ty went on: 'He's a human. A smarta** human. A talented human. A human who could be on some whole other s*** right now.' Professing that he is a changed man since being incarcerated and hitting out at the criminal justice system in the state, he continued: 'A human who is mine but who is totally different than he was then. You grow everyday. You change everyday. The whole system is f***** up, too. I damn near say that if you're going to put someone in for life, you might as well kill them. That's a human, you know? The world is f***** up.'

Despite his ongoing legal troubles, Sean "Diddy" Combs still has a musical brother in Ye. The controversial Grammy-winning rapper, formerly known as Kanye West, seemingly released a new collaboration with the embattled hip-hop mogul in a since-deleted post on X Saturday, according to People magazine and Billboard. The track, titled "Lonely Roads Still Go to Sunshine," also featured vocals from Ye's daughter North West, Combs' son Christian "King" Combs and Yeezy artist Jasmine Williams, People and Billboard reported. USA TODAY has reached out to representatives for Ye and Combs for comment. The song's release came a day after a pretrial conference was held for Combs' upcoming federal sex crimes trial in New York. The Bad Boy Records founder, who has been accused of sexual abuse in over a dozen lawsuits, is facing charges of racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking, and transportation to engage in prostitution. The nearly five-minute track opens with a voice recording of a phone conversation between Ye and Combs, per People and Billboard. Combs is currently in custody at the Special Housing Unit in Brooklyn's Metropolitan Detention Center ahead of his May 5 trial. "I want to just thank you so much for just taking care of my kids, man," Combs says in the recording, the outlets reported. Ye replies, "Absolutely, I love you so much, man. You raised me.
