From Taylor Swift to Bianca Censori: Ye's years of controversies
Ye, formerly Kanye West, is no stranger to controversy, from crashing Taylor Swift's MTV speech to his high-profile relationships.
Despite his ongoing legal troubles, Sean "Diddy" Combs still has a musical brother in Ye.
The controversial Grammy-winning rapper, formerly known as Kanye West, seemingly released a new collaboration with the embattled hip-hop mogul in a since-deleted post on X Saturday, according to People magazine and Billboard.
The track, titled "Lonely Roads Still Go to Sunshine," also featured vocals from Ye's daughter North West, Combs' son Christian "King" Combs and Yeezy artist Jasmine Williams, People and Billboard reported.
USA TODAY has reached out to representatives for Ye and Combs for comment.
The song's release came a day after a pretrial conference was held for Combs' upcoming federal sex crimes trial in New York. The Bad Boy Records founder, who has been accused of sexual abuse in over a dozen lawsuits, is facing charges of racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking, and transportation to engage in prostitution.
The nearly five-minute track opens with a voice recording of a phone conversation between Ye and Combs, per People and Billboard. Combs is currently in custody at the Special Housing Unit in Brooklyn's Metropolitan Detention Center ahead of his May 5 trial.
"I want to just thank you so much for just taking care of my kids, man," Combs says in the recording, the outlets reported. Ye replies, "Absolutely, I love you so much, man. You raised me. Even when I ain't know you, know what I'm saying?"

North West, who is gearing up for her own musical career, can reportedly be heard rapping, "When you see me shining, then you see the light." Ye shares West with ex-wife and media mogul Kim Kardashian.
This isn't the first time Ye and Combs have shared the mic. The hip-hop heavyweights were both featured on the Ty Dolla Sign track "Guard Down," taken from Sign's 2015 debut album "Free TC."
Ye also came to Combs' defense last month in a pair of X posts, in which he asked President Donald Trump to release Combs from custody, according to Billboard and Deadline. "@realDonaldTrump please free my brother Puff," Ye wrote, referring to Combs' former alias.
'A movie in real life': Ye defends wife Bianca Censori's nearly nude Grammys look
The "Heartless" emcee stirred controversy at the Grammy Awards earlier this year, where he appeared on the red carpet alongside his wife Bianca Censori. The Australian entrepreneur and model shocked fans with her nearly nude, see-through dress.

Michael Jackson Doubles Up Inside The Top 10

It's not uncommon to see bands that are no longer together or musicians who are no longer with us appear on the Billboard charts. There are many instances of beloved musical acts that, for one reason or another, are no longer producing new work, managing to live on the weekly lists. It is somewhat uncommon for late stars to occupy space inside the top 10, as there's so much competition from current-day powerhouses pushing singles and albums with huge marketing budgets, but it's not impossible. Michael Jackson is one musician who manages to do so regularly, and this week he accomplished the feat twice over. The Essential Michael Jackson Returns to the Top 10 On this week's edition of the Top R&B Albums chart, Billboard's list of the most consumed projects in that one genre, Jackson claims not one, but two top 10 wins. Thriller holds in tenth place, while The Essential Michael Jackson bounces back into the region, as it lifts from No. 13 to No. 6. The Essential Michael Jackson and Thriller Both The Essential Michael Jackson and Thriller have spent hundreds of weeks among the most popular R&B albums in the U.S. The compilation has racked up 357 stays, while Thriller recently passed 400 turns on the roster. Amazingly, despite their incredible commercial success and longevity, both titles missed out on giving Jackson a No. 1 as they stalled at No. 2. The Essential Michael Jackson Beats Thriller The Essential Michael Jackson appears in loftier positions on three rankings when compared to Thriller. This time around, the compilation leaps from No. 127 to No. 68 on the Billboard 200, and it breaks back into the top 20 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums roster — but only barely — as it settles at No. 20. Thriller Appears on More Charts Thriller may appear in lower spaces, but it lives on a greater number of rankings than The Essential Michael Jackson. Thriller comes in behind the compilation on the Billboard 200 and Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums rankings, though it does climb to Nos. 92 and 26, respectively. Thriller can also be found on the Vinyl Albums and Top Album Sales charts this week, where it rises to Nos. 11 and 24, respectively. Large Gains in Consumption Jackson's albums don't just gain ground — they see their consumption figures grow. The Essential Michael Jackson experiences a 26% uptick in units moved. According to Luminate, last week it shifted just under 13,900 equivalent units, while the previous frame, it managed 11,000. Thriller, meanwhile, breaks back into the highest half of the Billboard 200 with 12,500 equivalent units. That's up a little under 6% from the period before, when it managed 11,900.

Friday Music Guide: New Music From Cardi B, Chance The Rapper, Dijon and More

Billboard's Friday Music Guide serves as a handy guide to this Friday's most essential releases — the key music that everyone will be talking about today, and that will be dominating playlists this weekend and beyond. This week, Cardi B has a message for the competition, Chance The Rapper comes full circle and Dijon blows up. Check out all of this week's picks below: More from Billboard Sophie Ellis-Bextor On 'Murder on the Dancefloor' Craze and Why It Was 'Ballsy' To Name New Album 'Perimenipop' With Her Debut Album, JADE Says 'There's Nothing Holding Me Back' From Spilling Truth Susan Boyle Tells Oasis 'You've Made This Girl's Day' After Liam Gallagher Shouts Her Out During Edinburgh Show Cardi B, 'Imaginary Playerz' 'Fixin' y'all mouth to talk fashion with me / I'm the one who showed these girls what fashion could be,' Cardi B spits near the end of 'Imaginary Playerz,' a viper strike against those who doubted her longevity and other women in hip-hop trying to come for her crown. With Cardi's long-awaited sophomore album just weeks away, this single is a timely reminder of her dominant wordplay and cutthroat approach; the expectations are officially sky-high. Chance The Rapper, Chance The Rapper hit the mainstream with the force of a freight train in the mid-2010s, and then his 2019 album, The Big Day, zapped his momentum; Star Line, the long-awaited follow-up, boasts plenty of A-list guest stars — Lil Wayne, Young Thug and Jazmine Sullivan among them — but also serves as a back-to-basics project from an artist who blew up thanks to fiercely beloved mixtapes, combining personal reinvention with scrappy artistry. Dijon, In the four years since Dijon released debut album Absolutely in 2021, his influence in modern R&B (and popular music in general) has grown by leaps and bounds — and with follow-up full-length Baby, he returns with a lush, lo-fi set of rhythmic gems, to a much bigger audience waiting for them, and now has the opportunity to position himself as a full-blown commercial force. Kaytranada, A press release for Ain't No Damn Way! describes the project as 'an intentional return to Kaytranada's dance music roots' — which, if you like to move whatsoever, is pretty damn exciting, considering that the producer is absolutely elite when it comes to cooking up dance floor-fillers. Opener 'Space Invader' sets the euphoric tone immediately, and by 'Target Joint' in the fourth slot, your shoulders will be exhausted from wiggling too hard. Jordan Davis, Country star Jordan Davis' catalog contains a reliability that has made him into a singer-songwriter with a dedicated Nashville fan base, and on Learn the Hard Way, he continues his streak of celebrating the simple pleasures of life with mid-tempo tracks built around his steady tone and shrugging off too much production flash (although the occasional guest star, Carly Pearce and Marcus King, does drop by). Olivia Dean, 'Man I Need' Anyone paying attention to Olivia Dean's recent string of singles understands why anticipation keeps ratcheting up for the London singer-songwriter's sophomore album, The Art of Loving: 'Man I Need' once again demonstrates her natural gift for immediate melodies, but her modern riff on classic rhythmic pop is snappier than ever, to the point where you'll be humming along midway through your first listen. Editor's Pick: Conan Gray, Wishbone is Conan Gray's fourth studio album, and sounds like the one he's been working toward his entire career: once again working with Dan Nigro but handling much of the songwriting on his own, the pop artist fully arrives with a mix of hushed confessionals and brash arena-fillers, with both styles boasting the evocative lyricism that's made him a star. Best of Billboard Chart Rewind: In 1989, New Kids on the Block Were 'Hangin' Tough' at No. 1 Janet Jackson's Biggest Billboard Hot 100 Hits H.E.R. & Chris Brown 'Come Through' to No. 1 on Adult R&B Airplay Chart Solve the daily Crossword

Taylor Swift-Travis Kelce relationship takes center stage in new Chiefs doc after candid ‘New Heights' appearance

It was a September game day unlike any other in Chiefs Kingdom. At least that's how some associated with the team recall that fateful day on Sept. 24, 2023, when pop superstar Taylor Swift made an internet-breaking appearance at Arrowhead Stadium to support her boyfriend, star tight end Travis Kelce, with the early days of their relationship taking center stage in episode three of the ESPN docuseries 'The Kingdom,' currently streaming on ESPN+. 'I remember [Chiefs president] Mark Donovan, on a Friday afternoon, called me and told me that Taylor Swift was going to be coming to the game,' Lara Krug, the Chiefs' chief marketing officer, said in the program. 'I remember getting off the phone and looking out the window, being like, 'Huh, that's a big deal.'' Getty Images 7 Travis Kelce (r.) had told QB Patrick Mahomes (l.) earlier that week that Taylor Swift would be in attendance. Getty Images Krug went into Donovan's office, where the two comprehended the surreal situation. Advertisement 'Lara Krug walked into my office, closed the door and is like, 'Can I ask you a question?' And I'm like, 'Absolutely.' [She said], 'This isn't like normal, is it?' And I'm like, 'No, Lara, this is not normal,'' Donovan reflected. When game day against the Bears officially arrived, Swift — who had been linked to Kelce in the summer of 2023 — was featured on the broadcast in a suite with the tight end's mom, Donna Kelce. 7 Taylor Swift caught the game from a suite with Travis Kelce's mom, Donna (l.). Quarterback Patrick Mahomes, whom Kelce told about Swift earlier in the week, was awestruck on the sidelines, telling his pal, 'That's the first person I noticed. I didn't see anybody else.' Not long after the Chiefs took care of business with a resounding 41-10 victory, Swift and Kelce, both 35, exited the stadium together. 7 Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce stepped out publicly in October 2023. Together for roughly two years, Swift has supported Kelce at Chiefs games across the past two seasons, including the team's Super Bowl triumph in 2024 and their crushing championship defeat this past February. The 10-time Pro Bowler has also been there for Swift, joining her on the road at various stops during her blockbuster Eras Tour, which wrapped last December after a nearly two-year run. 7 Taylor Swift appeared on boyfriend Travis Kelce's podcast in August 2025. New Heights Podcast This past week, the 14-time Grammy winner sent the internet into a tailspin once again when she appeared on Kelce's 'New Heights' podcast with his older brother, Eagles legend Jason Kelce, to announce her 12th studio album, 'The Life of a Showgirl.' The album drops Oct. 3, weeks after Kelce kicks off his 13th season in the league. The Chiefs open against the Chargers in Week 1, an international clash in São Paulo, Brazil on Sept. 5.
