BBC The Traitors star Minah Shannon lands BBC Radio 1 role

The Traitors' fan favourite Minah Shannon is co-hosting BBC Radio 1's Friday Early Breakfast Show with Nat O'Leary. The Traitors' star Minah Shannon has been announced as a new radio presenter on BBC Radio 1. The Liverpool based reality TV star, starred on season three of The Traitors, which aired in January this year and was a hit with viewers after she sneakily deceived many of her co-stars with her secret Traitor status, making it all the way to the final week of the programme before she was found out. As the longest standing Traitor of the 2025 series, it seems her hard work has paid off as Minah has now landed a role co-hosting the Friday Early Breakfast Show on BBC Radio 1 with Nat O'Leary throughout May. Call centre manager Minah, 30, said she hoped to "brighten up listeners' mornings" on the show which is broadcasted from 05:00 until 07:00am. ‌ The duo will co-present a special live show from Liverpool on May 23 to help kick off the Radio 1 Big Weekend 2025 celebrations in the city. Gushing over her new role, Minah said: "I am so excited to be presenting every Friday in May on Radio 1's Early Breakfast. Getting to present alongside Nat O'Leary is going to be so much fun. ‌ "We discovered we both attended the same university and used to hang out in all the same places, so it feels like it was meant to be. "If we can give the lovely listeners a laugh, then mission accomplished!" O'Leary said she was "excited" to be joining Minah on the show. She remarked: "Minah's energy is electric, so I know we're gonna cause some chaos and bring some fun to your Friday early mornings. "Can't wait to wake up with you babes!" ‌ Minah currently works as a call centre manager in Liverpool, where she lives with her husband Liam and daughter Luna. Although the star has revealed she previously used to live in Glasgow for a number of years where she attended school. The BBC star rose to fame during her time on The Traitors earlier this year. Viewers watched on as she successfully tricked the 'faithful contestants by banishing fellow traitors Armani and Linda from the castle. ‌ Her impressive performance almost took her all the way to the end as fans were left gutted to see her voted out just two days before the final. Her decision to recruit Charlotte as a fellow traitor was her ultimate downfall, as during Minah's final round table, it was Charlotte who sealed her fate and banished her from the castle. Minah's co-hosting role will only last the month as the same slot is set to be replaced by Lauren Redfern in June. ‌ Aled Haydn Jones, Head of Radio 1, said: "The Friday Early Breakfast slot has become a key platform for emerging presenters to find their voice and connect with the Radio 1 listeners.
