Traditional Gorey music group perform at Fringe Fleadh
Gorey Guardian Today at 06:00 The Fringe Fleadh continues to bring traditional music to Wexford as Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann 2025 gets closer. The traditional tunes continued in Gorey Shopping Centre on Sunday, July 27 as Gorey/Ballygarrett Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann (CCÉ) set up in the shopping area to get locals in the spirit for the Fleadh next week. Wexford County Council organised the tunes to anticipate the upcoming Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann 2025 this August. Wexford County Council announced a series of traditional music and dance events taking place throughout the county. Multiple events have taken place this month to celebrate the growing traditional music scene in Wexford. The Fringe Fleadh 25 programme invites locals and visitors alike to enjoy a range of free, family-friendly performances and sessions featuring talented local musicians, dancers, and cultural groups. The members of the Gorey/Ballygarrett CCÉ took up various instruments to perform, which started from 2pm. The events are open to all and free to attend, inviting everyone to celebrate the culture, music, and dance that make Wexford so special.

Fringe Fleadh hits all the right notes in Gorey
Wexford County Council organsied the tunes to anticipate the upcoming Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann 2025 this August. Wexford County Council announced a series of traditional music and dance events taking place throughout the county. Multiple events will take place this July, to celebrate the cultural heritage that lives and breathes in the Wexford region. The Fringe Fleadh 25 programme invites locals and visitors alike to enjoy a range of free, family-friendly performances and sessions featuring talented local musicians, dancers, and cultural groups. Locals gathered to perform on the street with singing from John Furlong, and traditional dancing from students at Scoil Rince Furlong Irish Dancing. The events are open to all and free to attend, inviting everyone to celebrate the culture, music, and dance that make Wexford so special. The Fringe Fleadh will return to Gorey next Saturday July 19, with CCÉ Gorey / Ballygarrett and Caroline Fleming School of Dance to celebrate some traditional tunes during the Gorey Market House Festival.

Wexford village to welcome one of Ireland's finest céilí bands for Fringe Fleadh 25
With the club having done such a wonderful job hosting people from all over the country at their campsite set up for last year's Fleadh Cheoil, they were the ideal choice to host a wonderful evening of music as part of the Fringe Fleadh 25. Supported by Wexford County Council, Friday night will see a high energy performance from one of the country's most renowned traditional acts – The Blackwater Céilí Band, all the way from Co Tyrone. Since their formation in 2015, the band are widely recognised as one of the finest exponents of traditional music, bringing boundless energy and passion to each performance, creating fresh musical interpretations with distinctive character and detail, firmly rooted in the Ulster tradition. Former Senior All-Ireland Céilí Band winners, they will certainly ratchet up the excitement levels a notch ahead of this year's Fleadh. Support on the night will be provided by local acts Danescastle Music Group and Carrig Bán CCÉ. Tickets for the show are priced at just €10 and are available through Doors open at 8 p.m.
