Hugh Jackman Dealt Major Blow As His One-Man Show Struggles At Box Office Amid Divorce

Hugh Jackman may be a household name with a string of box office hits under his belt, but his latest one-man show in New York City isn't drawing the crowd he had hoped for. The "Wolverine" star returned to the Great White Way in a starring role in "From New York With Love." However, fans seem to have shied away from purchasing tickets en masse for Friday and Saturday's run, forcing the showrunners to slash prices for seats. Hugh Jackman's show debuted in January and will run for eight more nights in July, August, September, and October. Amid drama with his divorce, Hugh Jackman's return to the stage in "From New York With Love" isn't going quite as planned. The Tony-winning actor has upcoming performances this Friday and Saturday, but according to the Daily Mail, ticket sales have not been strong. This has forced the showrunners to roll out price cuts to boost attendance at NYC's Radio City Music Hall, the venue for the event. Now, those interested can secure regular seats for Friday's show at just $98, while Saturday's matinee tickets are priced even lower, starting at $60. As for premium seats, they are now going for $212, less than a third of the price some tickets to Paul Simon's nearby show at the Beacon Theatre were sold for. Despite the sluggish sales, the show is expected to continue with eight more performances scheduled across July, August, September, and October. The poor sales come after reports that the actor's estranged wife, Deborra-Lee Furness, filed for divorce to end their nearly three-decade-long marriage. The filing, which occurred in late May, had been a long time coming, as the two had publicly announced in 2023 that they had decided to separate to focus on individual growth. While the exact details of the divorce filing remain unknown, sources at the time claimed it was uncontested, as the duo had resolved everything prior to Furness making the move. It was also reported that the Australian actress found the settlement satisfactory. "A settlement was reached that Deborra is pleased with, which includes a handsome spousal support payment," a source told the Daily Mail about the former couple. "There was some back and forth regarding this financial agreement, but in the end, [Deborra] got what she believed she deserved. Both are coming out of this financially secure," they added. Despite the seemingly amicable nature of the divorce, Furness eventually broke her silence in a way that appeared to shift the blame for the failed marriage onto Jackman. The actress shared a cryptic statement about traversing the "traumatic journey of betrayal" and how it is a "profound wound that cuts deep." "It can hurt, but in the long run, returning to yourself and living within your own integrity, values, and boundaries is liberation and freedom," she added. Elsewhere in the statement, Furness claimed that "one thing" she has learned is that "none of this is personal and that we are all on "our individual journeys." "I believe that the relationships in our lives are not random," she further remarked. "We are drawn to people, we invite them in, in order to learn our lessons and to recognize and heal the broken parts of ourselves…I remain grateful." Following Furness' statement, a source close to Jackman claimed that the actor was "extremely disappointed" by the remarks. The insider also claimed that the Broadway star has "an unwritten understanding that she would not trash him to the press," which her statement seemingly broke. Amid the split, rumors have also circulated that Furness has been "flooded" with numerous "tempting book offers" since she and the Hollywood star first announced their separation in 2023, per the Daily Mail. While it's unclear what direction the book would take, it's believed that Furness would be expected to reveal "the truth about what it was like behind closed doors with Hugh." However, for now, such a memoir seems unlikely, as the Australian actress reportedly isn't interested in revealing personal details about her failed marriage and the "Wolverine" star. "So far she's keeping mum," an insider shared. "She doesn't need the money as she's been very well taken care of in the divorce."

Hugh Jackman waves down stranger to flee terrifying fan frenzy

A desperate hopped into a random stranger's car to escape a throng of screaming fans in New York City this week. The 56-year-old was seen emerging from Radio City Music Hall, where he will play his From New York With Love concert on Friday. He was immediately confronted by crowd of admirers shrieking with delight and asking for autographs, and he amiably complied, grinning and chatting with them. Eventually Hugh said: 'Thank you,' and extricated himself from the mass of people before walking briskly down the sidewalk in an apparent attempt to make a quick exit. However, the actor was unable to avoid the overenthusiastic admirers who continued scampering up to him and demanding photos, which he agreed to take, though his smile began to tighten and he kept walking as he posed. In the end, his only way out was to wave down a strange man's car and say: 'How you doing, brother? Where you going?,' before sliding rapidly into the backseat. On the personal front, a source claimed earlier this year that Hugh hopes to marry his girlfriend and former Broadway co-star Sutton Foster, 50. Sutton and Hugh starred in the Broadway revival of The Music Man together throughout 2022, and were rumored to have conducted an extramarital affair that led to his split from his wife Deborra-Lee Furness in September 2023. Meanwhile Sutton filed for divorce from her husband, Ocean's Eleven screenwriter Ted Griffin, in October 2024 after 10 years of marriage. Last month, after officially filing for divorce, Deborra-Lee gave an exclusive statement to in which she took an wipe at her estranged husband. She said: 'My heart and compassion goes out to everyone who has traversed the traumatic journey of betrayal,' she said. 'It's a profound wound that cuts deep, however I believe in a higher power and that God/the universe, whatever you relate to as your guidance, is always working FOR us. 'This belief has helped me navigate the breakdown of an almost three-decade marriage. I have gained much knowledge and wisdom through this experience. Even when we are presented with apparent adversity, it is leading us to our greatest good, our true purpose. 'It can hurt, but in the long run, returning to yourself and living within your own integrity, values and boundaries is liberation and freedom.' Deborra-Lee noted that the 'one thing' she learned was 'that none of this is personal' and that 'We are all on our individual journeys and I believe that the relationships in our lives are not random.' Deborra-Lee concluded: 'We are drawn to people, we invite them in, in order to learn our lessons and to recognize and heal the broken parts of ourselves...I remain grateful.' Sutton and Hugh went public with their romance in January, and it has since been claimed that he intends to marry her once his divorce is finalized. Speaking to Sky News an insider said: 'Hugh had a lot of back and forth while he was in Australia for the holidays but ultimately, he realized how much he missed her. 'The magic came flooding back when they reunited and ultimately marriage is the end game for these two. Hugh is clear he wants to make Sutton his wife.' Deborra-Lee and Hugh met in 1995 on the Australian television series Corelli, and he proposed four months later, marrying her in 1996 and welcoming two children with her, their son Oscar, 25, and their daughter Ava, 19.

And for Saturday's matinee, tickets are going for as little as $60, with the best seats in the house available for a steal at $212. From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the DailyMail's new showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop. Early reports indicated that sales were slow, with News writing on Sunday that Hugh was 'struggling' to move tickets for the show, which debuted on Broadway in January. However, on Monday, Radio City Music Hall indicated that tickets for Hugh's three gigs this weekend are now selling fast. Hugh, meanwhile, has scheduled his one-man show in New York for eight more concerts in July, August, September and October. It comes after Hugh and his ex Deborra-Lee Furness put their AU$60million (US$39million) New York apartment on the market amid their messy divorce. reports that the former couple are offloading the stunning five-bedroom 'triplex' apartment in the West Village that they purchased back in 2008 for AU$32million (US$21million). The penthouse boasts an eye-watering 1000 sqm of floor space and spans the top three floors of a glass tower overlooking the Hudson River. The three floors are connected via a spiral staircase and the luxe abode also boasts seven bathrooms. It also features a library, private sauna and an indoor gym, while the kitchen boasts a massive island bench, stainless steel appliances and plenty of cabinet space. Hugh, 56, and Deborra-Lee, 69, tried to offload the apartment back in 2022, but paused the sale in favour of putting it on the rental market. The listing comes after it was recently revealed that the ex-couple had decided to split their other New York abode down the middle. Their multimillion-dollar real estate portfolio includes properties spanning across three continents. They own several luxury properties across the United States, England and Australia. Hugh and Deborra-Lee, who had been married since 1996, announced their separation back in 2023 after 27 years of marriage. At the time, they cited a desire to pursue 'individual growth'. Though the pair have not publicly revealed the reasons behind their separation, rumours have run rampant as fans speculate that Jackman growing close to his fellow Broadway co-star Sutton Foster in The Music Man play was a factor in their split. Last month, Deborra-Lee alluded to Hugh's alleged affair with his now-girlfriend as she broke her silence about his 'betrayal' since legally filing for divorce. 'My heart and compassion goes out to everyone who has traversed the traumatic journey of betrayal,' she wrote in a statement shared exclusively with 'It's a profound wound that cuts deep, however I believe in a higher power and that God/the universe, whatever you relate to as your guidance, is always working FOR us.'

Anna Nicole Smith's daughter Dannielynn Birkhead reveals how Hugh Jackman inspired her acting dreams

Dannielynn Birkhead, who is the daughter of Anna Nicole Smith, has told how she dreams of being a model and actress, like her mum. "I'm definitely looking forward to modelling and acting," she told E! News. "I've just gotten inspired by a lot of my favourite actors and actresses." The teen told how she met Wolverine star Hugh Jackman after one of his recent performances of his Broadway play, From New York With Love. "I watch a lot of his movies for comfort, so that kind of translated to real life," she said of her admiration for the 56-year-old. "He's been my favourite actor for 10 years. I don't know how I survived (meeting him)." Despite her plans to be in the spotlight, Dannielynn shared that she's still planning on continuing her studies. "I have a college that I'm going to apply to," she said. "I'm interested in forensics, but of course, I would like to do modelling and acting on the side." Her dad, Larry Birkhead, shared how he wants to help his daughter - but how he is also wary of what fame can bring. "When she says she wants to do these things, I'm going to be supportive of it," he said. "But I give her some cautionary tales of things that I encountered, her mom encountered, and so I think we put that all together and give her the support, and we'll see what happens." Dannielynn's mum, Anna Nicole Smith, died in 2007 of an accidental overdose. Dannielynn has been raised by her father, Larry, and has lived a life largely out of the spotlight.
