'John Wick' spinoff 'Ballerina' on DVD Sept. 9

File Photo by Jim Ruymen/UPI | License Photo July 29 (UPI) -- Lionsgate announced additional home video dates for From the World of John Wick: Ballerina on Tuesday. The film will be available on DVD, Blu-ray and 4K UHD on September 9. After opening in theaters June 6, Ballerina has been available on premium video-on-demand since July 1. Ana de Armas stars as Eve Macarro, another assassin in the world inhabited by John Wick (Keanu Reeves). Wick joins her in several scenes in the spinoff and the film also stars Ian McShane and the late Lance Reddick in their roles from the John Wick series. UPI praised the spinoff in its review for its inventive new action scenes. De Armas and McShane also spoke with UPI about connecting the film to the John Wick franchise. Ballerina also features music by Evanescence and Halsey. Len Wiseman directed the film. Tom Cruise and His 'New Love' Ana de Armas Are Spotted on Yacht
It seems like Ana de Armas and Tom Cruise might be the latest A-listers looking for love. According to pics obtained by the Daily Mail, the Oscar nominees were recently spotted vacationing on a yacht in Menorca, Spain, wearing matching straw fedora hats and getting cozy in conversation. While neither has confirmed the nature of their relationship, an insider opened up about their budding connection with the outlet. 'Tom has been showering Ana with gifts ever since they met. It's his thing—he is thoughtful,' the source said. 'First, it started with her favorite flowers, then books he thought she would want to read because she's an avid reader.' The insider continued, 'The more they got to know each other, the bigger the gifts became. There has been jewelry, like gold bracelets and designer clothing, things like that, things every girl would love. Probably the biggest gift he has given her is being able to go anywhere in the world at a moment's notice. Not many people can do that.' The pair first sparked romance rumors in February, when they were photographed during a dinner outing in London. At the time, another source denied dating rumors, telling People that they were with their agents 'discussing potential collaborations down the line' and 'appeared to have no romantic connection, just friends.' During her From the World of John Wick: Ballerina press tour in May, Ana confirmed that she and Tom had a few projects lined up, telling Good Morning America that they were 'working together on a lot of things.' Tom also pulled up to support Ana at the premiere of Ballerina on June 3, and she expressed her gratitude for the Mission: Impossible star on the red carpet. She said that he's been 'unbelievable' and 'really amazing' at showing up for her, telling Variety, 'But you know what, he supports every movie. He really wants the industry and cinema to go well, and people going to the theaters.' Neither Tom nor Ana has revealed details surrounding their future projects, but for now, it seems that their bond might be purely professional.

It's all in the likes. Amid rumors that Tom Cruise, 63, is dating Ana de Armas, 37, Cruise's ex-wife, Katie Holmes, made an eyebrow-raising 'like' on social media. Holmes, 46, appeared to 'like' an instagram post from the Daily Mail that read, 'Tom Cruise and Ana de Armas love affair confirmed,' that included slides claiming they are 'getting serious.' Advertisement Before he passed away in 2021, former Scientologist Ron Miscavige, the father of Scientology leader David, told the Daily Mail that members of the church staff moved in with Cruise and Holmes before their split. 'That didn't sit so well with Katie, of course, and it hurt the marriage,' he claimed. 'She and Tom had big differences about the way life should be lived.' During a 2020 interview with InStyle, the 'Dark Knight' star spoke about that time in her life with Cruise was 'intense.'

Watch: Chad Stahleski directs Evanescence's 'Ballerina' song music video

File Photo by Jim Ruymen/UPI | License Photo July 7 (UPI) -- Evanescence has released a new video for "Fight Like a Girl," their song from the movie From the World of John Wick: Ballerina. The film is now available on digital video-on-demand. Chad Stahelski directs the video for the band. Stahelski was a producer on Ballerina and directed all four John Wick movies starring Keanu Reeves. In the video, Evanescence lead singer Amy Lee and guest singer walk down an empty street singing the lyrics. The full band plays behind flames. A previous version of the video featured more clips from the movie than original footage of the band. Lee also sang "Hand That Feeds" with Halsey for the film. Ballerina stars Ana de Armas as Eve Macarro, a novice assassin trained in the Ruska Roma school. She encounters John Wick (Reeves) in her pursuit of revenge against the cult leader (Gabriel Byrne) who killed her parents. Speaking with UPI, de Armas said the stunt team designed the film's fight scenes around the skills she developed during training. UPI praised the action in its review, particularly a flamethrower battle. The film opened in theaters June 6. DVD, Blu-ray and 4K UHD dates have not been announced. 'John Wick' spinoff 'Ballerina' comes to VOD Tuesday

Additional streaming and DVD, Blu-ray and 4K UHD dates have yet to be announced. Ballerina stars Ana de Armas as Eve Macarro, a student at the Ruska Roma ballet and assassin school. She meets John Wick (Keanu Reeves) when he visits the school during John Wick: Chapter 3 - Parabellum and fights him later in the film. When Eve visits the Continental hotel, she also sees Winston (Ian McShane) and Charon (Lance Reddick) from the John Wick films. Angelica Huston reprises her role as the Ruska Roma Director from John Wick 3. The film opened June 6 in theaters. UPI praised the film's inventive action sequences in its review. The film's cast, including de Armas, McShane, Norman Reedus and Catalina Sandina Moreno also discussed adapting to John Wick style action and the Continental mythology. Director Len Wiseman also emphasized Eve's choice to become an assassin as a contrast to John's attempts to leave the world behind. The home video edition includes a bonus feature showing how Eve wields a pair of ice skates like nunchucks.
