The fast-food chain, which was founded and is headquartered in the Buckeye State, is observing the Goodyear Blimp's 100th birthday, another Ohio icon, on June 3 with an exclusive in-app deal. The offer is only redeemable up until 12:01 a.m. local time on June 4 at participating Wendy's locations across the country. "And unlike the blimp, this offer isn't full of hot air; we're seriously serving up the coolest treat in town, no strings (or helium) attached," according to a press release from Wendy's. How to get a free Frosty from Wendy's All customers have to do redeem the deal is purchase a menu item on the Wendy's app. You can download the Wendy's Rewards app through the Apple or Google Play Store. App download and account registration is required. Additional details about the offer can be found on the Wendy's App. Wendy's unveils Frosty Swirls, Frosty Fusions Wendy's has given its iconic Frosty dessert a facelift in the last few months, offering customers the ability to add sauce or mix-ins to their classic soft-serve. The new Frosty variants are known as Frosty Swirls and Frosty Fusions. Customers can choose between a classic Vanilla or Chocolate Frosty and can then choose between three sauces: Strawberry Frosty Swirl, Caramel Frosty Swirl or Brownie Batter Swirl. Frosty Fusions, like the Frosty Swirls, allow sauce but customers may also add mix-ins for "extra flavor to the silky-smooth Vanilla or Chocolate Frosty." The three Frosty Fusion flavors, which have been available since May 12, include: Pop-Tarts Strawberry Frosty Fusion: Combines Wendy's Frosty and sweet strawberry sauce with chunks of strawberry-flavored Pop-Tarts Crunch Poppers pieces. Wendy's set to make a major change to iconic menu item
It might be known for its square hamburgers, fries and chili but there's another part of the Wendy's menu that has kept fans flocking through the door for decades. The American fast food chain, which has been in existence since 1969, has also found fame for the Frosty - a frozen dairy dessert which was launched as part of the original menu. But while it remains as popular as ever, it's undergone a radical change (Picture: Getty Images) Currently, the Frosty is available in chocolate or vanilla flavour, with the dessert being known for being thick enough to eat with a spoon but smooth enough to drink through a straw. However those seeking something a little different to the usual Frosty flavours have had their patience rewarded with the arrival of two new variations - Frosty Swirls and Frosty Fusions (Picture:for Wendy's) Frosty Swirls feature new sauces allowing you to customise your Frosty - with strawberry, caramel and brownie batter to choose from. You might remember their Thin Mints Frosty back during Girl Scout Cookie season, and last month the chain announced Frosty Swirls featuring three tasty new sauces. Now, Wendy's has revealed its new Frosty Fusions menu, taking Frosty Swirls to another level. With a Frosty Swirl, you can take your fave Frosty—vanilla or chocolate—and swirl in strawberry, caramel or brownie batter sauce. But why not go a step further and add a mix-in for an even sweeter treat? Here's how it works: Each Frosty Fusion features both a sauce and a crunchy mix-in to your chocolate or vanilla Frosty base. And these combos will surely impress. First up is the Pop-Tarts Strawberry Fusion that mixes strawberry sauce and bits of strawberry flavored Pop-Tarts Crunch Poppers.
