Congrats, a Grade 2 winner and a mainstay in the stud barn at WinStar Farm, died Monday of natural causes at the former Woodford Thoroughbreds property in Reddick, Fla., now known as Persaud Legacy Farms, Thoroughbred Daily News and BloodHorse report. Congrats was moved to WinStar Farm ahead of the 2013 breeding season, and he remained there for the rest of his stud all the moving, Congrats became an increasingly popular sire, springboarded by earning North America's leading freshman sire title in has sired 905 global winners from 15 crops, with combined progeny earnings in excess of $87.2 million. Leading the way among his runners are Grade/Group 1 winners Turbulent Descent, Jupiter Gold, Haveyougoneaway, Wickedly Perfect, and Emma's Encore.
