Hit bakery selling viral 24-layer chocolate cake announces 'game changer' that's got people in a frenzy
A hit bakery which has gone viral for its 24-layer chocolate cake which costs £20 a slice has made a 'huge' announcement about its future - describing it as their 'biggest change' yet.
Get Baked opened its first brick and mortar store in Manchester's Stevenson Square earlier this year, leading to huge queues as people camped out to get a slice of their viral cakes and bakes.
Starting life in Leeds in 2011, the bakery - led by Rich Myers - has become a baking sensation for its Bertha cake (inspired by the infamous Bruce Bogtrotter cake in Matilda), as well as its cookies, pies, and cakes.

Now, just two months after opening up in the Northern Quarter, Rich and the team has announced their Get Baked is set to expand on its offerings thanks to a popular Yorkshire deli shop - and fans have been unable to contain their excitement.
It has been revealed that all Get Baked stores will soon begin serving sandwiches and deli goods from Silver's Delicattessan. Located in Bramley, Leeds, the sandwich shop first opened in November 2023 by owner Chris Riley-Smith and has found similar fame to the bakery with its homemade breakfast sandwiches and crammed hoagies.
With combinations including salt beef brisket with pickles, swiss cheese and mustard, as well as a popular chicken and bacon sandwich featuring overnight-roasted chicken and homemade aioli, the shop has also been nominated at the Uber Eats Restaurant of the Year Awards.
Posting about the partnership, Get Baked wrote on Instagram: 'Silver's is joining the GET BAKED family. This marks the biggest change to both brands since their conception - one which will provide endless joy for all involved, both staff and customers alike.
'Silver's will become the in-store sandwich and deli offerings at all GET BAKED locations, including future openings. I cannot do what Silver's does, better than Silver's can, and I don't want to even try.
'Yesterday, their Hot Honey Chicken sandwich nearly ended my life - joy to that degree can be dangerous, and I very nearly perished because of it. This is going to be a lot of fun, and it's going to make a lot of people incredibly happy, which, ultimately, is why we do it.'
As expected, the news went down an immediate fan with fans of both stores. One person boldly proclaimed: 'This is the Yorkshire equivalent of a royal wedding.' Another said: 'This is good Manchester news.'

Another person wrote: 'This is a game changer.' One other said: 'Huge!!! Congrats.' Another praised the two for joining forces by posting: 'When businesses know other businesses' worth and use to further each other, it can only be hugely applauded.'
It has not yet been announced when the partnership will come into force, with Get Baked simply telling fans to 'stay tuned' and to 'please ensure that you prepare yourselves accordingly' in the meantime.
