'Sang'gre' delivers epic pilot episode with dragon, giant, prophecy, and a world of ice
"Sang'gre" delivered a pilot episode of epic proportions as we return to the world of "Encantadia!" The opening scene eased us in with the familiar: a flashback to Pirena, Amihan, Alena, and Danaya, the four Sang'gres we know and love. They were all riding horses towards Lireo, but the first surprise of the episode soon appeared: a dragon with a well-made CGI that made it look straight out of "House of the Dragon." The four Sang'gres decided to use the powers of the gems of fire, air, water and earth to slay the creature, which poses a threat to their kingdom. Like in the magical girl genre, their armors flashed with the power of their elements before they attacked the dragon and ultimately vanquished it. After the dragon, another magical creature appeared: a giant named Arsus, who had been hunting the people of Mine-a-ve and ruling the land of ice with terror. This was where Mitena, the main antagonist of the series, made her entrance. She challenged Arsus to a fight and single-handedly won using her unique sword. After killing the giant, Mitena declared herself the Kera or queen of Mine-a-ve. The people then began to kneel one by one to accept her as their ruler. Before the episode ended, Bathalumang Cassiopeia appeared before Pirena, Danaya, and Alena at the present time. She warned them of an ominous dream that she had: someone from another land will bring her death. The opening billboard of "Sang'gre" was also a thing of beauty, with a nod to the "Game of Thrones" opening. Landscapes and castles are shown, paired with the somber sound of cellos before Julie Anne San Jose comes in with vocals. It all comes together with the vocals of Bayang Barrios from the original theme of the series. The pilot episode was indeed worth the long wait for the "Encantadia" spinoff, which took two years to produce. "Sang'gre" airs weekdays on GMA Prime at 8 p.m. after "24 Oras." ‘My Father's Wife' stokes intrigue in teaser video
'My Father's Wife,' starring Kylie Padilla, Gabby Concepcion, Jak Roberto, and Kazel Kinouchi just released a teaser video. The teaser, shared by GMA Drama on Instagram, suggested a love affair between Gabby's and Kazel's characters. In the series, Gabby plays the role of Kylie's father, while Kazel portrays her best friend. Jak also enters the scene, playing the role of Kylie's lover. 'Thou shalt not covet thy best friend's father,' the caption read. 'My Father's Wife' will premiere on June 23 on GMA Network. Aside from the main cast, the series will also star Snooky Serna, Arlene Muhlach, Andre Paras, Maureen Larrazabal, and Sue Prado. Gabby previously starred in "My Guardian Alien," while Kylie starred in "Asawa ng Asawa Ko" and Kazel appeared in "My Ilonggo Girl." 'What haffen Vella?' Cristopher Diwata to appear on 'Mga Batang Riles'
"What haffen Riles?" Cristopher Diwata, aka the Taylor Lautner lookalike who is trending for his "What haffen Vella?" lines, is all set to appear on "Mga Batang Riles." GMA Drama teased Cristopher's appearance with him wearing an all-black outfit, similar to his trending look, and carrying a bat. "Wat haffen, Riles? Y U fightin' again? Victors, ryt?" the poster said, referencing the now-iconic lines. "Paparating na siya sa riles!" More details about Cristopher's role are yet to be revealed. Cristopher joined the "It's Showtime" segment "Kalokalike" in 2013 as Taylor Lautner's "Twilight" character, Jacob Black. Over a decade later, Cristopher's clip resurfaced, causing him to go viral again and stamp his place in the Philippine internet's hall of fame for memes. Recently, Cristopher has collaborated with several brands and Filipino artists, such as Ben&Ben, SB19, Michael Sager, and Anjo Perterria. "Mga Batang Riles" stars Jillian Ward, Kokoy De Santos, and Raheel Bhyria also hopped on the trend. "Mga Batang Riles" airs weekdays at 8:50 p.m. on GMA Network.

Abi Marquez joins cast of ‘Sanggang Dikit FR' starring Jennylyn Mercado and Dennis Trillo
Abi Marquez, a.k.a. Lumpia Queen, is joining the cast of Jennylyn Mercado and Dennis Trillo's upcoming series, 'Sanggang Dikit FR!' On Instagram, GMA Drama congratulated the social media star for winning the Best Food Blogger award at the World Influencers and Bloggers Awards 2025. 'Pa-lumpia ka naman d'yan, Chef!' GMA Drama wrote in the caption and teased, 'Abangan ang nakakagutom na role ni Lumpia Queen sa #SanggangDikitFR, ngayong June 2025 na sa GMA Prime.' 'Sanggang Dikit FR' is a buddy-cop series that channels the style of '80s action films. In February, Jennylyn and Dennis went target shooting in preparation for the project. Jennylyn started shooting for the series the same month and admitted that she felt the jitters.
