Hilton, Waldorf Astoria to arrive at GMR Aerocity, New Delhi

Global hospitality company Hilton has revealed a partnership with GMR Group's Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL) to introduce Waldorf Astoria and Hilton hotel brands to GMR Aerocity. GMR Aerocity in New Delhi is India's international business hub, featuring an array of top-tier hotels, dining establishments, and offices designed for the future. The luxury and full-service hotels will enhance Hilton's footprint in New Delhi, and the national capital region, which already houses four of its properties. GMR Group corporate chairman Kiran Kumar Grandhi said: 'Partnering with Hilton to bring Waldorf Astoria and Hilton to GMR Aerocity reflects our continued commitment to bring world-class global brands to Aerocity, thereby positioning the facility as a force multiplier for Delhi's tourism and business economy. 'Hilton's global standards align well with our ambition to build GMR Aerocity as a strategic destination establishing new benchmarks in urban and hospitality infrastructure.' The agreement marks the first Waldorf Astoria in the capital city, offering 150 rooms and suites, signature dining, event venues, and wellness amenities, including the Peacock Alley. Additionally, the 350-key hotel at GMR Aerocity will mark the Hilton Hotels & Resorts brand's debut in the city, offering dining options and social areas for business and leisure travellers. Waldorf Astoria's addition to GMR Aerocity places it alongside other global locations such as New York, Shanghai, and Dubai. This expansion is part of Hilton's broader strategy to grow its luxury footprint in the Asia Pacific, aiming for 150 hotels in the coming years, with upcoming Waldorf Astoria properties in Jaipur, Kuala Lumpur, Sydney, Shanghai, Tokyo, Xi'an, and Hanoi. Hilton's luxury brand portfolio in India will increase fourfold, and will see the inclusion of Waldorf Astoria Hotels & Resorts, LXR Hotels & Resorts, and Signia by Hilton, complementing the existing Conrad Hotels & Resorts in Bengaluru and Pune. The introduction of LXR Hotels & Resorts to India was announced in May, with The Den, Bengaluru. To cater to the diverse needs of Indian travellers, Hilton is diversifying its brand offerings in India, planning to double its current five brands to ten. The expansion will introduce Waldorf Astoria Hotels & Resorts, LXR Hotels & Resorts, Signia by Hilton, Curio Collection by Hilton, and Spark by Hilton. Hilton president and CEO Chris Nassetta said: "The signing of a Waldorf Astoria and Hilton in Delhi Aerocity with our partners at GMR-led DIAL underscores Hilton's long-term commitment to India. 'As we continue to accelerate our growth in South Asia, these landmark properties and partnerships play a pivotal role in expanding Hilton's portfolio and delivering exceptional, elevated experiences for global travellers.' Earlier in 2025, Hilton announced the Asia Pacific debut of its luxury Signia brand, with the first hotel set to open in Jaipur, India. "Hilton, Waldorf Astoria to arrive at GMR Aerocity, New Delhi" was originally created and published by Hotel Management Network, a GlobalData owned brand.
