The Boilermakers tied the game in the third following a sacrificial fly before taking the lead in the fourth with a solo home run. Nebraska served up its own sacrificial fly in the fifth to bring the equalizer, then struck a two-run home run in the seventh to go up 4-2. Purdue cut the lead to one in the bottom of the seventh on a sacrifice fly before its walk-off home run in the ninth. Devin Nunez delivered the Huskers' two-run homer, his only hit of the game, to lead the team in RBIs. Gabe Swansen and Riley Silva each pitched in an RBI in the loss.
