Hill faces two counts of murder after his girlfriend, Nompumelelo Gamede (21), and sister, Antoinette Hill (23), were set alight on July 23, allegedly by him. They later died in hospital.
According to Gamede's father, the accused allegedly doused petrol on his daughter after a heated argument the couple had, together with Hill, who reportedly tried to intervene, and set them alight, leaving them locked in a room to burn.
Gamede's family reacted to the court proceedings, saying: 'We wish to see the case being finalised sooner because our daughter was brutally killed. We wish for justice to be served and soon.'
