Rekha Gupta Takes Holy Dip In Ganga, Vows To Make Yamuna "As Clean, Beautiful"
Haridwar: Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, who is on a short trip to Uttarakhand after completing 100 days in office, on Sunday took a dip in river Ganga at Haridwar's Har Ki Pauri ghat. Rekha Gupta sought Maa Ganga's blessings to make Yamuna river clean and also prayed for the prosperity of the country and the state. The Delhi Chief Minister was accompanied by her husband Manish Gupta and son Nikunj. After taking a dip in the river, Rekha Gupta performed Ganga Puja at Brahmakund. While talking to reporters, Rekha Gupta said after completion of 100 days of BJP-led Delhi Government, she has come to devbhoomi Haridwar. "Today, while paying my obeisance to Maa Ganga, I prayed for the development and prosperity of our country and also of Delhi," she said. Rekha Gupta said that wants to make Yamuna as clean and beautiful as Ganga. "May we get the blessings of Maa Ganga to make Yamuna as clean and beautiful as Ganga." When asked about her future plans as the Delhi CM, she said her goal is to move forward in the direction of development and do better work for the city. Rekha Gupta also attended the inauguration program of Sadhvi Ritambhara's newly built ashram 'Ganga Vatsalya' in Haridwar where she was warmly welcomed by the saint community and devotees. Rekha Gupta also met Acharya Mahamandaleshwar Swami Avdheshanand Giri, Peethadheeshwar of Juna Akhara and took his blessings. According to sources, the CM will likely visit Kedarnath on Monday. The BJP government in Delhi led by Rekha Gupta completed 100 days in power on Friday. The BJP won the Assembly polls held in February this year, forming the government in Delhi after 27 years. Gupta took oath as Delhi chief minister along with her cabinet ministers on February 20.

Devotees from all around the world travel to visit this ghat and take part in puja to seek blessings from the holy river. On April 6, Anant Ambani reached the Dwarkadhish Temple in the early hours, after the completion of his 170-kilometer spiritual padyatra from Jamnagar to Gujarat, which was commenced on March 29. While speaking to ANI, Anant shared, 'This was a spiritual journey. I started it in God's name and completed it in his name. I thank Bhagawan Dwarkadhish and everyone who joined me along the way.'

ICC chairman Jay Shah performs Ganga Puja in Haridwar
ANI 04 May 2025, 23:47 GMT+10 Haridwar (Uttarakhand) [India], May 4 (ANI): The International Cricket Council (ICC) chairman Jay Shah performed the Ganga Puja on banks of river Ganga in Haridwar on Sunday. Currently, Shah is in India. Notably, Jay, the previous Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) secretary, took over as the chairman of the International Cricket Council (ICC) from December 1. He brings extensive experience in cricket administration, having started his journey in 2009 with the Gujarat Cricket Association (GCA). During his tenure, he oversaw the development of the world's largest cricket stadium, the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. India also successfully held the 2023 Cricket World Cup in its entirety for the first time. In the first major decision under the chairmanship of Jay Shah, the International Cricket Council (ICC) finally put an end to the Champions Trophy 2025 hosting rights issue just two days back, deciding that the upcoming event will be played in Pakistan along with another neutral venue. Also, the hybrid model has been decided for all ICC events in the 2024-27 cycle which will be held in India or Pakistan. (ANI)

General Secretary of Ganga Sabha, Haridwar, Tanmay Vashisht said, "Anant Ambani was here with his wife and performed puja of Maa Ganga and sought blessings... Along with being an industrialist, he is a flag bearer of Sanatan. We also pray for his happy and healthy life and that he continues to grow in his area and work for society and religion..." Earlier on April 6, Anant Ambani arrived at Dwarkadhish Temple in the early hours after completing his 170-kilometre spiritual padyatra from Jamnagar to Gujarat, which started on March 29. Speaking at the culmination of his yatra, Ambani expressed his gratitude to Bhagawan Dwarkadhish and said, "See, it's my own spiritual journey. I started this by taking the name of God and will end it by taking his name. I want to thank Lord Dwarkadheesh. I am grateful for the people who joined me on my spiritual journey. I am joined by my wife and mother, who will arrive soon." The spiritual journey began on March 29, ahead of his 30th birthday on April 10, and covered an approximate 170-kilometre distance. Anant Ambani also recalled the time when he opened up about his decision to go on a spiritual walk to his father, Mukesh Ambani. He expressed his gratitude to the Reliance Industries Chairman for motivating him to pursue his padyatra from Jamnagar to Dwaraka. "When I told my father (Mukesh Ambani) that I wanted to do the walk, he gave me a lot of power, and I want to express my gratitude to him," said Anant Ambani. Anant was also joined by his mother Nita Ambani and wife, Radhika Merchant, as he entered the Dwarkadhish Temple in Dwarka.
