Gupta brothers honour father's service at IIT-Kanpur with gift of health
Lucknow: As a testament to their father's enduring legacy, brothers Manoj Gupta and Neeraj Gupta, co-founders of US-based Opalescent IT Solutions Inc., have etched a lasting tribute in the annals of IIT-Kanpur's history.
Their generous donation has paved the way for an eight-bed ward dedicated to economically weaker section (EWS) patients at the esteemed Gangwal School of Medical Sciences and Technology, seamlessly weaving compassion into the fabric of excellence that defines the institution.
The contribution, made through the IIT-Kanpur Foundation, a US-based non-profit organization, will support the institute's mission of education and research.
The ward will be named in memory of their parents, Rukmani Gupta and MC Gupta, as the EWS Bay/Ward, reflecting the family's enduring connection to IIT-Kanpur.
Notably, their father, who served as an administrative superintendent from 1961 to 1997, was recognized for his exemplary service with the Long and Satisfactory Service Award in 1987. This philanthropic gesture not only honours their father's legacy but also strengthens the family's bond with the institute.
