Perfect Moment taps the Netherlands for new European warehouse
Luxury skiwear label Perfect Moment has inaugurated a new European warehouse and distribution centre in the Netherlands as it continues to transform its global logistics capabilities. The French brand said the new facility, operated in partnership with Geodis, will replace its warehouses in the UK and Hong Kong, both of which are due to close as part of a restructuring programme to streamline operations and reduce costs. With this, Perfect Moment is expected to reduce the number of logistics touchpoints from factory to customer by more than half, in the hopes of ensuring fast and more efficient fulfillment. In a statement, chairman of the brand, Max Gottschalk, said the new facility 'marks a critical step forward in Perfect Moment's journey' and comes as a 'cornerstone of our broader operational transformation'. Gottschalk continued: 'By centralising key functions and eliminating unnecessary handoffs, we're creating a more agile and efficient platform that we expect will unlock meaningful cost savings and allow us to reinvest in areas that fuel long-term growth – whether that's product innovation, customer experience or international expansion.' To further enhance the brand's turnaround, Perfect Moment has also refreshed its corporate structure to support efforts in aligning operations with commercial priorities. The company said that such changes will help to streamline its supply chain, and thus contribute to 'sustainable increases to our gross margins', ultimately driving value for customers and shareholders. Perfect Moment continues to address financial challenges alongside ambitions to drive forward growth. In FY24, while the brand reported narrowing losses and a revenue uptick, its adjusted EBITDA fell to minus 5.9 million dollars, reflecting operational inefficiencies.

Perfect Moment opens new European distribution hub in the Netherlands
Luxury skiwear and lifestyle brand Perfect Moment has opened a new European warehouse and distribution hub in the Netherlands, operated in partnership with Geodis. The strategically located facility in Holland replaces the brand's former warehouses in the UK and Hong Kong, which are set to close as part of a restructuring aimed at reducing costs and streamlining operations. With the transition, Perfect Moment expects to cut logistics touchpoints from factory to customer by more than half, slashing the steps involved from 11 to just five. 'This marks a critical step forward in Perfect Moment's journey,' said Max Gottschalk, chairman of Perfect Moment. 'The new distribution facility is a cornerstone of our broader operational transformation, enabling us to streamline our supply chain, accelerate delivery timelines and significantly reduce complexity. By centralizing key functions and eliminating unnecessary handoffs, we're creating a more agile and efficient platform that we expect will unlock meaningful cost savings and allow us to reinvest in areas that fuel long-term growth – whether that's product innovation, customer experience or international expansion.' Perfect Moment has also restructured its corporate operations to better align with the flow of goods and its commercial priorities across key markets. The company anticipates that these efforts will contribute to long-term improvements in gross margins, although gains will build gradually. Under the leadership of COO and CFO Chath Weerasinghe, the brand has already seen early results, including shipping Fall/Winter 2025 deliveries two months ahead of last year's schedule. 'This transformation allows us to build a supply chain discipline that not only reduces cost but also enhances delivery performance and customer satisfaction,' said Weerasinghe. This automatic label generation serves as an advanced shipping notice for Geodis, eliminating the manual creation of entries within the warehouse management system. The technology is engineered to improve speed, reduce cycle times, and optimize costs, benefiting both Geodis customers and their end consumers. Built as a cloud-native solution, this module integrates seamlessly with popular e-commerce platforms such as Shopify, BigCommerce, WooCommerce, and Magento, providing comprehensive visibility from the moment a return is created through product disposition and refund. Geodis clients can personalize the portal with their own branding, including logos, colors, fonts, and messaging. The highly customizable solution also empowers clients to tailor returns policies to their specific requirements, ensuring consistency in the customer experience. Furthermore, it offers advanced and configurable reporting capabilities, and multilingual support for English, Spanish, and Portuguese, for a localized returns experience for consumers in the United States, Canada, and Latin America. The returns management module focuses on optimizing the reverse logistics process within the warehouse. Upon receiving a return, the module swiftly assesses the product and its value, categorizing it for reintroduction into inventory, refurbishment, or disposal due to damage. Retailers can customize how items are classified and processed, aligning with their individual returns strategies. This module also delivers real-time visibility into inventory levels, alongside robust reporting features. These include SKU-level insights that identify frequently returned products, pinpointing potential issues. The reporting capabilities can enhance overall retail operations, including sustainability efforts, by uncovering consumer return patterns and trends. For instance, data-driven insights can help retailers stock more efficiently, determine which returns are suitable for re-entry into inventory to reduce unnecessary disposal, and identify product issues to lower the likelihood of future returns, reducing associated emissions and packaging materials. Geodis announces plans to close one Wilson County facility with 40 workers affected
Geodis Logistics plans to close its facility at 549A Aldi Boulevard in Wilson County with 40 workers affected, according to a notice filed with the state. The closure is expected to be effective on July 31, according to the Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act (WARN) notice filed with the Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce Development. Geodis is a worldwide transport and logistics company with multiple locations in Wilson County. One Geodis operation is at Speedway Industrial Park. The Joint Economic & Community Development Board of Wilson County will coordinate through its Wilson Works countywide workforce development program to support rapid response efforts for affected workers led by the Northern Middle Tennessee Workforce Development Board. Wilson County's unemployment rate was 2.4% in April "and with more jobs currently available than there are workers to fill them, we are optimistic that these folks will rebound and find new employment quickly,' Joint Economic & Community Development Board of Wilson County Executive Director Corey Johns said. Geodis announces key management board appointment
Geodis, a global leader in transport and logistics, has announced the appointment of Jean-Benoit Devauges as Group General Counsel. He will be a member of the Group's Management Board, which is chaired by Marie-Christine Lombard, the Chief Executive Officer of Geodis. He also becomes a member of the Executive Board of Geodis alongside Lombard and David-Olivier Tarac. An industry veteran, Devauges began his career with international arbitration firm Lazareff & Associés before joining Renault's legal department in 2000 as corporate lawyer. In 2006, he joined the Nissan Motor Company's global legal department in Tokyo, Japan, before being transferred two years later to the US, joining Nissan North America's legal team in Nashville, Tennessee. He was appointed deputy to the group general counsel of Renault in 2011 with responsibility for partnerships, mergers and acquisitions. In 2017, he was promoted to general counsel and was appointed secretary to the board of directors in 2019. Since 2023, he has been general counsel and head of legal affairs, ethics and corporate governance at MEDEF, the French business confederation. Jean-Benoît Devauges holds postgraduate diplomas from the University of Paris I in international business law and from the University of Paris II in E.U. law. He is admitted to practice in France.
