Thibodaux man wins $100K from Powerball ticket
THIBODAUX, La. (WGNO) — A Thibodaux man might be feeling lucky after years of trying his chances in the lottery ended up with him winning $100,000, which he claimed on July 9.
According to the Louisiana Lottery Corporation, Gerald Morrison was a well known customer at A-1 Farms on Highway 70 Spur in Plattenville, where he eventually bought the winning Powerball lottery ticket, paying an extra $1 for the Power Play option, doubling his winnings from $50,000 to $100,000.
What were the mysterious objects flying over Uptown New Orleans?
Morrison and his wife, Janelle, found out that he had won on Friday evening, July 25.
'I couldn't believe it. You always hope for a win like this, but I never really thought I'd hit $100,000 in my lifetime,' said Morrison.
He reportedly intends to use part of the money for a new truck, which he's wanted for some time, and to set aside another portion for his two Posts
