‘Banquets for the Brave' benefitting first responders heads to Shreveport
SHREVEPORT, La. (KTAL/KMSS) – Glazer's Beer and Beverage's (GBB) 'Banquets for the Brave' program benefitting first responders is coming to Shreveport. The program intends to support first responders in nine parishes of northwest Louisiana in collaboration with the First Responder Support Team (FRST). First responders of Bossier Parish to be honored for their work According to a press release, Banquets for the Brave aims to: Raise awareness about the ongoing needs of local First Responders and their families. Show appreciation for the incredible bravery and dedication of First Responders. Raise funds to provide essential tools and resources for northwest Louisiana's heroes. 'Glazer's Beer and Beverage of Shreveport is committed to make a meaningful impact raising funds throughout the year,' the release stated. 'We pledge to donate $0.50 for every case of Coors Banquet sold in our market through the end of the year to FRST.' Dollar General grants $13.2 million to boost literacy programs GBB is the third-largest Molson Coors Distributor in the United States with 14 branches across several states, including Louisiana, Texas, Arkansas, and Oklahoma. 'We are excited the Glazer family has asked each branch to get local with this program,' said Adam Bullock, Sales Manager at GBB Shreveport. 'We are extremely excited to have found a local non-profit organization, FRST, that is there for our First Responders. Our First Responders are true heroes, and it's time we show them our gratitude. This program is our way of saying 'thank you' for their selfless service.' Give for Good raises $2.53 million for north Louisiana nonprofits
SHREVEPORT, La. (KTAL/KMSS) – The Community Foundation of North Louisiana announced that Give for Good, in its 12th year, raised $2,535,735 for over 200 regional nonprofits. GFG is an annual online fundraiser that invites all to take part in philanthropy and help transform communities. Fundraiser to reunite siblings, fight against muscular dystrophy 'Give for Good is such a wonderful celebration of our community's generosity and collaborative spirit,' said CFNLA CEO Kristi Gustavson. 'We are honored to provide this opportunity to showcase the vital contributions our local nonprofits make to our community and are so proud of the way that our citizens step up year after year to support this work. Thank you to all the individuals and organizations participating in Give for Good 2025!' Over $2.53 million was raised through 8,708 gifts from 4,207 donors to support 222 regional nonprofits. GFG has raised nearly $25 million since its creation in 2014. North Louisiana's Give for Good boosts nonprofit funding
SHREVEPORT, La. (KTAL/KMSS) — Give for Good, powered by the Community Foundation of North Louisiana, is here. Bossier City's Renesting Project nonprofit executive director wins 2025's 'Remarkable Woman of the Year' The annual 24-hour online giving challenge event will occur on Tuesday, May 6. The day will raise thousands of unrestricted dollars for local nonprofit organizations and raise awareness of their essential work in the community. According to Give for Good, in 2024, over $2.94 million was raised during Give for Good, which went directly to nonprofits in our area. More than 9,000 gifts were made to distribute to over 222 organizations. In 2025, you can donate to 232 Give for Good organizations. KTAL NEWS NOW had an opportunity to talk with Emily Jo Manchester Sanden, the 2025 Remarkable Woman winner and Executive Director of the Renesting Project, about Give for Good. 'It's an amazing event. It truly showcases the power of this region and the support that our incredible community has for the nonprofits in this area,' said Manchester Sanden. Renesting Project is asking the community to donate on Give for Good to continue its mission of gathering and distributing gently used furniture and household items for those in need in Northwest Louisiana. It's easy to donate, and anyone from any state can do so. Donations can be any size, from $10 and up. The online platform provider charges a 2.8% processing fee, but you can cover those fees so that the nonprofits can receive as much funding as possible. SHREVEPORT, La. (KTAL/KMSS) — North Louisiana's largest day of philanthropy returns on Tuesday, May 6, featuring 232 organizations participating in the Give for Good day. Give for Good is currently welcoming early donations, organized by the Community Foundation of North Louisiana (CFNLA). This year, they aim to uplift the community by reaching their goal of $3 million. Their online platform provides each nonprofit with a customized giving page, where the organization can share its mission, programs, needs, and volunteer opportunities, according to Give for Good. Donors can easily browse, search, and filter participating organizations by sector or location. Noble Savage, nonprofit host Give for Good Watch Party
SHREVEPORT, La. (KTAL/KMSS) — Give for Good is one of North Louisiana's biggest days of giving, and this year, a nonprofit focused on gathering furniture and household items for people in need is hosting its event at Noble Savage Shreveport. The Renesting Project serves nine parishes across Northwest Louisiana, providing individuals at risk of homelessness with furniture and household items at no cost to them. On May 6th, the nonprofit says if patrons mention'The Renesting Project,' Noble Savage will donate 20% of their purchase to the program. Bossier City nonprofit exec. win's 2025's 'Remarkable Woman of the Year' Nobel Savage will display the Give For Good leaderboard on the screen for viewers to track the event's progress. Renesting's Goal is to make up to $36,000. Staff from Renesting will be on-site from 5 p.m. to close to accept donations via the Give for Good portal and to answer any questions people may have.
