SIOUX FALLS, SD (KELO) — Travel back in time to the glorious reign of Queen Elizabeth I during the Siouxland Renaissance Festival at the W.H. Lyon Fairgrounds. The festival features armored jousting, jugglers, dancers and musicians performing from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Admission is $15 for adults, $6 for children and free for ages 3 and under. The Sioux Falls Municipal Band performs a free concert in the Terrace Park band shell. The music starts at 8 p.m. The Summer Concert Series at Good Earth State Park in Sioux Falls features Amy Ellsworth. The concert starts at 4 p.m. Seating is limited, so concert-goers are encouraged to bring a lawn chair or blanket. A park entrance license is required. Hot Wheels Monster Trucks Live: Glow-N-Fire is a monster truck show featuring a fiery new twist with special effects and stunts. The action gets underway at 2:30 p.m. in the Denny Sanford PREMIER Center. Buffalo Days in Luverne, MN features a pie & ice cream social at the History Center from 1-4 p.m., plus Woofstock in the city park from 3:30 to 7 p.m. that includes micro-chipping and a dog parade The city of Sioux Falls outdoor pools and aquatic centers are located at Drake Springs, Frank Olson, Kuehn, Laurel Oak and Terrace parks. Open swimming will go from 1 to 5 in the afternoons and 6:30 to 8 in the evenings. Splash pads at Hayward and Pioneer parks are open from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wild Water West is also open for the season. The water park west of Sioux Falls features a tornado alley, water slides and a wave. The hours are 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. AMC Collective in Sioux Falls is hosting an Aprons for Dad Make & Take. Create a one-of-a-kind apron just in time for Father's Day from 1 to 3:30 p.m. All supplies are provided. The cost is $18 per apron. The non-profit Fun & Friends is hosting a June Meetup at the Special Olympics South Dakota gym in Sioux Falls. The free event is open to children up through 12 years old with a disability, rare disease or who are neuro-divergent. There will be a selection of games and equipment to play with from 3:30 to 5 p.m. No registration is needed. Siblings are welcome, guardians are required. The Crossthreads Fiber Guild is hosting Fiber Fun at the Old Courthouse Museum in downtown Sioux Falls. Everyone interesting in knitting, crocheting and needle work is invited to work on projects from 1-4 p.m. You're invited to play Pokémon and win prizes at the Game Chest in Sioux Falls. The hours are 12:30 to 5 p.m. All ages are welcome and it's free to play. The Hello Hi bar in downtown Sioux Falls and Spoke-N-Sport are hosting a Community Bike Ride. It starts at 4:30 p.m at the Hello Hi and follows the bike path to Spoke-N-Sport, and back again. There will also be a 50/50 raffle to benefit Falls Area Single Track. SIOUX FALLS, SD (KELO) — This is the final day to take advantage of the Free Fishing Weekend at all South Dakota state parks and recreation areas. No fishing licenses are required, but regulations and limits still apply. Entrance fees are also waived for the day. Camping fees still apply. Good Earth State Park's Summer Concert Series features Kevin Ryan. The free concert goes from 4-6 p.m. More than 60 new homes in Sioux Falls and surrounding areas are opening their doors to the public today as part of the Spring Parade of Homes. There's a $5 fee to see the two feature homes, otherwise all the other homes are free to see. The hours are 1-5 p.m. VFW Post 628 in Sioux Falls is hosting its monthly All-You-Can Eat Pancake Breakfast. Serving time is 8:30 a.m. to noon at the South Dakota Military Heritage Alliance. The cost is $8 for adults, $2 for children. Fun & Friends is hosting a sensory-friendly LEGO event for children 8-years and up. BRANDON, SD (KELO) — The green flag drops on racing season at Huset's Speedway in Brandon. The Mother's Day Opener includes sprint car and late-model street stocks. Gates open at 5 p.m. Hot laps are at 6:30 p.m. The races start at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $20, $10 for students and free for ages 12 and under. The Summer Concert Series kicks off at Good Earth State Park in Sioux Falls. Joah's Ark, a Minnesota-based petting zoo, is making a special trip into South Dakota to showcase its animals. You'll find a menagerie of bottle lambs, fainting goats, mini-horses, donkeys, prairie dogs and a potbelly pig. The location is 48258 265th Street, south of Brandon. The hours are 1-5 p.m. Admission is free. Open indoor skating at the SCHEELS IcePlex in Sioux Falls goes from 2-4 p.m. Admission is $9 for adults and $7 for children. Skate rentals are $4. Who needs a beach when you can enjoy a refreshing dip in the pool at the Midco Aquatic Center in Sioux Falls? Today's hours are noon to 5 p.m. The Westside Recreation Center off Ellis Road in Sioux Falls also features a pool along with workout areas and a play area for kids. Today's hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Summer hours are now in effect at the Sioux Falls Zoo & Aquarium. The zoo is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The zoo's splash pad is already up and running for the summer.
