Gorey Market House Festival was ‘an extraordinary success'
Visitors got to enjoy a packed schedule across the entire weekend including live music from acts such as The Swift Show (Taylor Swift Tribute), Live Forever (Oasis Tribute), and Fairytale of The Pogues (Pogues Tribute). Traditional tunes were also played on the stage from Gorey and Ballygarrett CCÉ. Members of the community also gathered to take part in the annual Making Music Busking competition, where over €1,000 worth of vouchers were won. Alongside the bustling music on the streets, the Family Fun Day made its return to Gorey Town Park on Saturday, where locals engaged with hands-on interactive workshops filled with arts and crafts, dancing, games and competitions. Sinead Monaghan is involved with the festival and said the weekend was a huge success. 'This year's Gorey Market House Festival has been nothing short of extraordinary From the music to the Family Fun Day, Superhero Fun Run & Market Day, it was fantastic to see the whole town out enjoying themselves. 'A heartfelt thank you to the committee, the festival sponsors, Wexford County Council and volunteers who made this event a memorable success & of course the people of Gorey. We will see you all in 2026 for another great Gorey Market House Festival,' Sinead said. Sergeant Evelyn Reddan in Gorey Garda Station said the Market House Festival was a great success. Sgt Reddan said only three minor public order incidents were handled by An Garda Síochána at the festival last weekend.

Fringe Fleadh hits all the right notes in Gorey
Wexford County Council organsied the tunes to anticipate the upcoming Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann 2025 this August. Wexford County Council announced a series of traditional music and dance events taking place throughout the county. Multiple events will take place this July, to celebrate the cultural heritage that lives and breathes in the Wexford region. The Fringe Fleadh 25 programme invites locals and visitors alike to enjoy a range of free, family-friendly performances and sessions featuring talented local musicians, dancers, and cultural groups. Locals gathered to perform on the street with singing from John Furlong, and traditional dancing from students at Scoil Rince Furlong Irish Dancing. The events are open to all and free to attend, inviting everyone to celebrate the culture, music, and dance that make Wexford so special. The Fringe Fleadh will return to Gorey next Saturday July 19, with CCÉ Gorey / Ballygarrett and Caroline Fleming School of Dance to celebrate some traditional tunes during the Gorey Market House Festival.

Taylor Swift and Oasis tribute acts among Gorey Market House Festival highlights in July
The festival promises local talent and headline acts, family friendly events, plus the return of the annual Making Music Busking Competition, all set against the backdrop of Gorey's bustling town centre. Philip Knight, Gorey & Kilmuckridge District Manager shared his excitement for the festivals return this July. 'It's a wonderful celebration of local music, culture and community spirit, right here in the heart of Gorey. 'I'd like to sincerely thank the festival committee and volunteers for their tremendous dedication and hard work putting together such a fantastic programme again this year. Events like this are what make Gorey such a vibrant and welcoming place to live and visit.' Cllr Donal Kenny, cathaoirelach of Gorey and Kilmuckridge Municipal District also praised the committee for their 'tireless efforts'. "The Gorey Market House Festival is a real highlight of the summer for families and visitors alike. It brings people together, supports local businesses and showcases the wonderful talent we have in our area,' Cllr Donal Kenny said. Visitors can expect a jam packed schedule of entertainment and events, including free live music on the Main Street all weekend with artists including The Swift Show (Taylor Swift Tribute), Live Forever (Oasis Tribute), and Fairytale of The Pogues (Pogues Tribute) to name a few. Gorey Market House Festival 2025 will take place the weekend of the July 18, 19 and 20 with music, markets and events suitable for the whole family.
