Horse racing tips: ‘He's bigger, stronger and better than ever' – Templegate's 5-2 NAP for the Gosdens
TEMPLEGATE'S TIPS Horse racing tips: 'He's bigger, stronger and better than ever' – Templegate's 5-2 NAP for the Gosdens TEMPLEGATE tackles Friday's racing confident of building the bank for Royal Ascot. Back a horse by clicking their odds below. BURRITO (4.10 York, nap) Having missed his two-year-old season, this Gosden-trained son of Lope De Vega showed bundles of promise when winning on debut at Newmarket this time last year. He then went close at Chester in September before being gelded over the winter. He looked a bigger and stronger prospect when returning at Newbury 28 days ago. The four-year-old absolutely tanked along and was value for a fair bit more than the official margin of half a length. Unfortunately the handicapper was paying attention but a 10lb rise in the weights is fair enough. MISS JUSTICE (3.15 Sandown, nb) Will relish this longer trip under William Buick after an excellent second at Wolverhampton last time. She makes her handicap debut off the same mark and can give the Gosdens another winner. TOPTEAM (3.25 Chester, treble) Enjoyed himself over this course and distance 13 days ago when scooting in by more than three lengths. This race looks little tougher and he can take another step forward for Andrew Balding. Horse racing tips: ‘This trip suits and Oisin Murphy gets the ride' – Templegate's Tuesday NAP
TEMPLEGATE takes on Tuesday's action looking for winners. Back a horse by clicking their odds below. COMPETIZIONE (3.30 Salisbury, nap) Champion jockey Oisin Murphy takes over from Rab Havlin on this three-year-old who has improved with every run for the Gosdens. He missed his juvenile season and badly needed his debut at Newmarket in April before going down in a tight finish at Donny. He hit the crossbar at Chelmsford 19 days ago and looks ready to win. This trip suits and he's progressive. VIBRANT PEARL (5.40 Catterick, nb) Has been second on both starts, including in a photo last time out. She enjoyed the drop back to five furlongs there but stayed further on debut and that stamina could be an asset in the holding conditions. She doesn't need much more to get off the mark. JACK SPARROW GREY (6.50 Fontwell, treble) Has won all three starts at this track by growing margins. He sees out this trip strongly and his rider's 5lb claim can help defy the handicapper again. LAUDABLE (6.10 Catterick, Lucky 15) Was rusty on return before taking a big step forward when second at Ayr three weeks ago. He has winning form at this tricky track and has dropped to a handy weight. Commercial content notice: Taking one of the offers featured in this article may result in a payment to The Sun. Ryan Moore jocks Kieran Shoemark off massive £225,000 Group 1 ride as trainer says he wants ‘best chance' of victory
RYAN MOORE has jocked Kieran Shoemark off the massive £225,000 ride on Dancing Gemini in the Lockinge. It is the latest massive blow for Shoemark - who recently endured the week from hell. 1 Ryan Moore has been in incredible form and has pinched the ride on Dancing Gemini for Saturday's Group 1 Lockinge at Newbury Credit: PA First he lost his job as the No1 rider for John and Thady Gosden. Then he saw an epic French 1000 Guineas win on Shes Perfect ripped from his grasp after a controversial stewards' enquiry demoted him to second - as cries of 'cheat' rang round the winner's enclosure Shes Perfect's owners saw £150,000 go up in flames after Zarigana was given the race - but praised the jockey's class in the gut-wrenching aftermath. Now Shoemark will need to show he's made of stern stuff all over again after losing the lucrative ride on crack miler Dancing Gemini. Shoemark was expected to get the leg up on the Group 2-winning four-year-old colt, who looked awesome in last month's bet365 Mile romp at Sandown. But with Aidan O'Brien having no leg in the race, that freed up Moore. The man thought by many to be the best on the planet has been in unbelievable form. He produced a masterclass on Mount Kilimanjaro at Chester - before coming from the clouds to win the French 2000 Guineas on Henri Matisse in a thriller. Teal said it had been difficult leaving Shoemark - who rode Dancing Gemini to victory in March's Doncaster Mile - off the ride. As it had been Rossa Ryan, who did the steering at Sandown. But he said he had to give the horse the 'best chance' of victory at Newbury in the mega-money Group 1. And that meant booking Moore. Teal told the Nick Luck Daily podcast: "Obviously Rossa rode him the last day at Sandown because Kieran had other commitments with the Gosdens. "But with what happened there… and Ryan Moore is available. "It's been a tough decision by the owner and myself. "We've spoken for an hour every day making this decision. "But Ryan Moore is Ryan Moore at the end of the day and we have to give ourselves the best chance. "The other boys are very capable but when Ryan throws his hat into the ring it's hard to say no." Horse racing tips: ‘Loads to offer for the Gosdens' – Templegate's NAP full of Derby promise
TEMPLEGATE'S Monday picks are below. Back a horse by clicking their odds. Sign up for Scottish Sun newsletter Sign up TYCOON (6.00 Windsor, nap) This son of super sire Kingman created a good impression on his debut at Sandown in late August. He travelled sweetly enough but finished the line full of running in third place. He gave the impression he would come on plenty for that experience and has much more to offer the Gosdens who have made a flying start to the new Flat season. They can bag another winner with Oisin Murphy in the saddle. BELL SHOT (2.45 Lingfield, nb) He shaped well on turf when third at Thirsk last time. He was just a little tapped for toe over the six-furlong distance there and moving back to this best trip can pay dividends. His last visit to Lingfield saw him beaten just a length and he's back from the same handicap mark. BARMYBLADE (4.40 Ayr, treble) He took advantage of a falling handicap mark to land a battling victory at Catterick last time. He was returning from more than six months off there and showed a good attitude. The handicapper has been more than fair with just a 2lb nudge up the weights and he has few miles on the clock so there should be improvement to come. DOUBLETHETROUBLE (2.15 Lingfield, Lucky 15) He has been knocking on the door and made it three podiums in a row when a close-up third in a similar contest to this at Kempton last time. He stays well and his rider's 7lb claim brings his weight down nicely.
