Brett Johnson Debuts First Fragrances with a French Touch
MILAN — Brett Johnson is getting into the fragrance business with a three-scent range developed in-house with a little help from Grasse, France-based perfumer Claudine Roublot. The collection debuts exclusively at Galeries Lafayette Haussmann in Paris, as well as on the brand's e-commerce site. 'The entire process has been incredibly personal. My late wife, Sarah, and I took a trip to Grasse three years ago — she had a deep and abiding love for fragrance. She owned an extensive collection of over 300 different perfumes and played a vital role in developing each of the three scents we're now presenting at Galeries Lafayette,' Johnson said. 'I'm grateful to have had the privilege of creating something so unique, intimate and meaningful with her. I hope the love we shared — and poured into every fragrance — resonates with those who experience them.' The three scents are called 'Côte de Ramatuelle,' 'Oud Raffiné' and 'Monsieur Chic.' Meant for individual use or layering and retailing for 265 euros, they come in sleek, 100-milliliter glass flacons with a brushed golden cap. Côte de Ramatuelle opens on the zesty notes of bergamot, lemongrass and peppermint with base notes of sandal, vetiver and incense, while Monsieur Chic boasts refreshing notes of cardamom, cypress, geranium and lavender enhanced by a heart of musk and patchouli. The more complex Oud Raffiné scent boasts notes of juniper, lavender and jasmine blended with warm undertones of cedar, tobacco and vanilla. The brand, known for its high-end take on American casualwear, was launched by the namesake designer in 2014. In 2019 the brand opened a showroom in Milan. The 3,229-square-foot space is home to the sales department, part of the design team and has allowed Johnson to keep track of manufacturing, which is based in Italy's Tuscany and Umbria regions. Brett Johnson is available at Saks; Galeries Lafayette in Paris; Harrods in London; Gio Moretti in Milan; Modes' Porto Cervo and Saint Moritz units; Amicis in Vienna; as well as at Bungalow in Stuttgart, Germany; and Caesar in Rotterdam, the Netherlands. Eugénie Le Sommer joins Mexican side Toluca
The greatest goalscorer in the history of French football is on her way to Mexico. On Saturday, Eugénie Le Sommer (36) officially signed a two-year contract with the Toluca women's team in Liga MX Femenil. Le Sommer, who has 94 goals and 200 caps for the women's national team, more than any player ever on the men's or women's side, will see some familiar faces in Mexico. Among them is Amandine Henry (35), who won 11 Division 1 Féminine titles in the French top-flight alongside Le Sommer and eight UEFA Women's Champions League titles. Advertisement The manager of Toluca is Patrice Lair won four Division 1 Féminine crowns while also lifting the Coupe de France three times and winning the Champions League title twice, with those two women serving as key figures. Meanwhile, Faustine Robert (31) also recently joined Toluca, after a long club career in France, making two appearances for Les Bleues. The Toluca women's team was founded in 2017, with the team finishing 11th in the domestic table last season. Le Sommer was left off the French squad for the upcoming 2025 Euros in Switzerland, with the woman born in Grasse seeing limited playing time since Laurent Bonadei was appointed as manager. She had been a part of the Lyon women's team since the 2010-11 campaign. UAE: First rose water made from Mohammadi and Taifi roses unveiled in Sharjah
The first successful local production of rose water in Sharjah has been unveiled, extracted from Mohammadi and Taifi roses, both known for their quality and scent. The product appeared on social media as part of the exhibits at the Sharjah Products Exhibition held at Al Dhaid University, where it drew attention for its locally sourced ingredients. Mohammadi roses originate from Oman and are currently cultivated in the UAE. Along with Taifi roses, they are used to extract rose water, which is commonly known for its cosmetic, therapeutic, and culinary uses. This effort reflects the emirate's direction toward local agricultural production. Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, President of Al Dhaid University, visited the exhibition and reviewed a wide range of products, including those from Jabal Al Deem such as Mohammadi and Taifi roses, honey, olives and their derivatives, apples, thyme, and rosemary. He also visited the stand of the Sharjah Agricultural and Livestock Production Corporation (Ektifa), and reviewed the latest products of Grasse, including vegetables, fruits, and derivatives such as jam and sauces. As reported previously by Khaleej Times, the successful first grape harvest from the Ghammam Project in Sharjah, recorded at an altitude of 850 meters above sea level in Jabal Al Deem, marked an agricultural achievement for the region. 5 million seeds According to the official website of Sheikh Dr Sultan, during the meeting of the Board of Trustees of Al Dhaid University, he explained that his efforts in collecting and classifying seeds began in 1973. He currently maintains a seed bank containing approximately 5 million of them. The seed bank will be moved to Al Dhaid University to support scientific research and training for students in the agriculture program. The Sharjah ruler concluded his tour with a visit to the Sharjah Products Exhibition at the university. He expressed interest in the quality of the items on display, which align with the emirate's approach to food security through scientific education and agricultural development. Following the meeting, Sheikh Dr Sultan hosted a lunch for members of the Board of Trustees. The meal featured local products from Sharjah, including beef from the Maliha cattle farm, cheese from the goat farm, poultry from Fili farm, produce from the Al Dhaid greenhouses, and bread and grains from the wheat farms.

Liam Gallagher tunes up in the South of France with iconic songbird guitar as Oasis reunion looms
While Oasis are reported to have begun rehearsals in London for their long-awaited reunion tour, one half of the band's famously fractious core is tuning up in more relaxed surroundings - on the Côte d'Azur. Liam Gallagher, 52, this week posted an Instagram Story showing the sun-drenched front door of his new French villa, with a guitar leaning casually against the wall. Fans quickly identified it as the same acoustic he played in the music video for 'Songbird', his 2002 love ballad for then-girlfriend Nicole Appleton. When one Twitter user asked, 'Is that the Songbird mv guitar?', Liam replied: 'It is.' Another asked if he was rehearsing with it, to which the former Oasis frontman responded, 'I am indeed.' The villa in question is no ordinary getaway. Liam recently bought the 18th-century property in Grasse - the world's perfume capital - for £3 million. The six-bedroom, three-storey estate was previously owned by former TV presenter Noel Edmonds, who listed it for £4 million before relocating to New Zealand. It features a pool, olive trees, its own vineyard - and several engraved references to 'Noel', the previous owner's name and, coincidentally, that of Liam's estranged brother and bandmate. The Oasis reunion, scheduled to tour the UK, US, South America and Asia in 2025, comes 15 years after the band's acrimonious split in 2009. The fallout led to years of public insults between the Gallagher brothers, both on stage and on social media. But in PJ Harrison's recent book The Fall and Rise of Oasis, a music industry source claimed Liam was the one who extended the olive branch: 'He's a great one for making peace. He's the one that will bring things back together.' Liam himself has hinted at this, writing in a previous X post: 'I called him [Noel], but don't tell anyone as I don't want folk thinking I'm a soft lad and stuffs. Keep it between me n you cheers x.' Despite the brothers' tumultuous history, they are reuniting for the 'Live '25' tour, marking three decades since the release of Oasis's seminal album, '(What's the Story) Morning Glory?' Rehearsals have begun in London, with Noel leading sessions alongside longtime collaborators Paul 'Bonehead' Arthurs, Gem Archer, Andy Bell, and keyboardist Mikey Rowe. Liam is expected to join the rehearsals next month, ahead of the tour's kickoff on July 4 in Cardiff.
