Tesco apologises after accidentally sending Clubcard email to shoppers

Some Tesco shoppers were accidentally sent an email saying they were being given the £100 in Clubcard points - despite not taking part in a recent offer with easyJet Holidays Tesco has apologised after some shoppers were mistakenly told they were being awarded £100 in Clubcard points. The supermarket ran a promotion where customers could get £100 of Clubcard points when they booked an easyJet holiday. However, some shoppers were accidentally sent an email saying they were being given the £100 in Clubcard points - despite not taking part in the offer. ‌ One customer wrote on X: 'Did anyone else get this weird Tesco email today about £100 of Clubcard points being ours and then not being ours.' ‌ Another said: 'WTF is this about @Tesco? I demand £100 of Clubcard points NOW!!' The supermarket sent out a second email to all affected customers, explaining the mix-up. The second email read: 'We sent you an email about our Reward Partners on Sunday 11 May (great!). Unfortunately, we mistakenly said we'd added £100 of Clubcard points to your account for booking an easyJet holiday (not so great!). 'We're very sorry for any confusion we caused, and we hope you have a lovely summer, whatever your holiday plans.' A spokesperson from Tesco said: 'An email meant for customers who had collected £100 of Clubcard points after booking an easyJet Holidays break using Tesco Clubcard Vouchers was mistakenly sent to other Clubcard members. "We are sorry about the confusion and have followed up with an email to the customers who wrongly received the message to apologise.' ‌ It comes after Tesco finally launched its F&F range online. Tesco shoppers used to be able to purchase F&F clothing through the Tesco Direct website - but this closed down in 2018. The collection was also once available to buy online through Next, until the retailer stopped selling F&F in January 2024. A curated selection of women's, men's and kids' clothing, as well as footwear and accessories on and through the Grocery and Clubcard App. ‌ The range includes pieces through the F&F Edit, Sports and F&F Active Athleisure clothing. It will also feature exclusive collaborations and seasonal items, such as school uniforms. The online range will continue to expand over the coming months. Customers will be able to shop F&F clothing across and the Tesco Grocery and Clubcard app, earning Clubcard points on all their purchases. Katja Ahola Klamkin, Tesco Group Managing Director, Home & Clothing said: 'We are thrilled to bring F&F clothing to and our Grocery and Clubcard App. 'We know our customers love the quality, affordability and style of F&F and this will make it even easier and more convenient to shop the ranges they know and love.' The supermarket teased the launch in its financial results last month, where it said "launch of F&F clothing is scheduled to go live for customers in the year ahead".

Tesco relaunches 'lovely' range online after 7 years and shoppers are 'buzzing'

If you've ever found yourself sidetracked by the clothing section in Tesco while nipping for your weekly shop, you're in luck. Tesco has finally launched its F&F range online, and shoppers will have access to a wide range of 'stylish and affordable clothing' at their fingertips. Shoppers used to be able to buy the F&F clothing through Tesco's online website, Tesco Direct, but this was axed in 2018. Customers could still buy items from the collection through Next until the retailers stopped selling F&F in January 2024. Now, after a seven-year hiatus, Tesco is making things easier for shoppers. A selection of women's, men's and kids' clothing, footwear and accessories is available to buy on and through the Grocery and Clubcard App. The range features 'fashionable' and 'quality' F&F clothing, including sportswear and athleisure. It will also feature 'exclusive collaborations' and high-demand seasonal items, such as school uniforms. Metro's Alice Giddings rated F&F's clothing range last year. She tried on a cream knit jumper, cream satin slip skirt and black moc croc boots, which tallied up to a total of £67. While 'sceptical' of the quality of supermarket brand clothes, she said she was 'pleasantly surprised' by the F&F range. She wrote: 'The outfit as a whole screamed trust fund baby to me, which I was a big fan of. I love the skirt with a flattering slit up the left side and, despite it being such a light colour, it wasn't see-through.' Read Alice's full verdict here. Tesco plans to expand its online range over the coming months. Katja Ahola Klamkin, Tesco group managing director, home & clothing, said: 'We are thrilled to bring F&F clothing to and our Grocery and Clubcard App. 'We know our customers love the quality, affordability and style of F&F and this will make it even easier and more convenient to shop the ranges they know and love.' Customers should note that a delivery fee of £3.99 applies to all orders, with shoppers able to upgrade to express delivery on any order for £5.99. Shoppers are certainly excited. The news was shared on Facebook, money-saving site Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK and received hundreds of comments. One user said, 'it's about time', while another claimed they were 'buzzing'. Chelsea Wright wrote: 'What a time to be alive.' While Penny Kilby commented: 'Oh nooooo rip our banks.' More Trending Lauren Hughes added: 'This is probably the best and worst news ever.' F&F Cheltenham also updated its followers about the online move on TikTok. One user, @joannemiller25, said: 'This news has made my day.' Jennifer Ledward added: 'Best news ever I love your clothes.' While Keily Fletcher wrote: 'My bank will hate me,' and Lorna praised the 'beautiful pieces' and 'lovely' fit of the clothes. Tesco launches F&F clothing online for first time since 2018

The supermarket teased the launch in its financial results last month, where it said "launch of F&F clothing is scheduled to go live for customers in the year ahead". ‌ It comes after Tesco launched its new Tesco Marketplace website, which lists products for sale from third-party sellers. The website now stocks more than 300,000 products - up by more than 3,000% from when the website launched in June 2024. Orders are delivered separately from your grocery shop, with marketplace items incurring their own, separate delivery fees. However, you still earn Tesco Clubcard points on all purchases. All the sellers who use Tesco Marketplace are monitored on delivery speed, returns, and delivery success rates. ‌ At its launch, Tesco Marketplace director Peter Filcek told The Grocer it wants shoppers to have a "one-stop shop" for everything they need. He said: 'We were looking at customer searches on our websites and we found things that we just don't carry in Tesco [stores] or online, and so that prompted a stream of thinking around what we could do to open up that range, to give customers what they're looking for because they were genuinely looking for all sorts of things.' Meanwhile, the supermarket is also trialling a new scheme where it gives away "yellow sticker" food for free. "Yellow sticker" discounts are typically applied to food that is about to go out of date, with Tesco slashing costs by up to 90% off the original price of the product. However, as part of a new trial at a small number of Tesco Express stores, the supermarket will cut 'yellow sticker' prices to £0 for products that haven't been sold after 9.30pm.
