UP BJP MLA seeks ban on animal slaughter, meat shops near Hindon Airport ahead of Bakrid

Uttar Pradesh BJP MLA Nand Kishor Gurjar Sunday wrote to the Ghaziabad police seeking a ban on animal slaughter, meat shops, and the operation of slaughterhouses near Hindon Airport in his constituency, Loni, on the occasion of Bakrid on June 7. Gurjar expressed concern about the potential threat of bird strikes to aircraft caused by open slaughter activities and highlighted issues regarding communal harmony in the area. In the letter, accessed by The Indian Express, he cited a survey by former Loni Nagar Palika executive officer D K Rai and said Loni, which is close to the Hindon Airport, comes under 'aircraft ordinance'. 'Under the ordinance, the slaughter of animals, the operation of meat shops, slaughterhouses and the collection of bones is prohibited. Doing this comes under the category of treason,' he said in the letter to Deputy Commissioner of Police (Rural) Surendra Nath Tiwari. Gurjar also urged the Muslim community to celebrate Bakrid like they celebrated it last year in an 'eco-friendly' manner by cutting a cake in the shape of a goat. 'People of the Muslim community, by being a part of a progressive thought and also abiding by the rules of aircraft ordinance and for the benefit of Loni, celebrated an eco-friendly Eid and cut a cake in the shape of a bakra (goat), which was highly appreciated,' he said. 'In the past, a fighter aircraft of the Indian Air Force had crashed in Loni. Apart from this, our party workers have been alerted that a large number of animals will be butchered in Loni. In that situation, some people can also kill cows to destroy the sensitive environment of Loni,' wrote the BJP MLA. He said the killing of animals is prohibited under the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act. 'I have also appealed to the brothers from the Muslim community that they become followers of a progressive thought… My party workers will also guard this with the help of drones,' he said in his letter. When contacted, DCP (Rural) Tiwari, however, denied receiving any letter from the MLA. 'We will look into this when we get it,' he told The Indian Express. ‘Cut cake shaped like goat': Ahead of Bakrid, BJP MLA seeks ban on meat shops near Hindon Airport citing bird-hit risk, communal harmony

BJP MLA Nand Kishore Gurjar has requested Ghaziabad Rural Police to ban animal slaughter and meat shops near Hindon Airport in Loni before Bakrid, citing potential bird hits and communal harmony concerns. NEW DLHI: BJP MLA Nand Kishore Gurjar has written to the Ghaziabad DCP, seeking a ban on animal slaughter, meat shops, and slaughterhouses near Hindon Airport in Loni, ahead of Bakrid on June 17. The MLA cited the potential threat of bird hits to aircraft due to open slaughter activities and also raised concerns over communal harmony in the area. In his letter to the DCP (Rural), Gurjar stated, 'While we respect the faith and traditions of all communities, Loni is a highly sensitive area where communal harmony has been disrupted in the past. The Aircraft Ordinance must be enforced here to prevent any accidents caused by bird attraction near the airport.' He further urged the administration to take preventive action in accordance with Supreme Court directives and state government rules, highlighting concerns over possible cow slaughter and demanding strict adherence to the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act, 1960. 'Cutting cake shaped like goat was appreciated' In both tweet, Gurjar appealed to the Muslim community to adopt 'a progressive outlook,' pointing to past Eid celebrations where locals had 'symbolically cut a cake shaped like a goat'—an act he said was widely appreciated.

Aadhaar fraud in police constable exam: Munna Bhai-style scam in Madhya Pradesh

The integrity of recruitment exams in Madhya Pradesh has once again come under serious question, as a fresh scandal has emerged in the 2023 MP Police Constable Recruitment a case eerily reminiscent of Bollywood's Munna Bhai, multiple fake candidates, known as "solvers", appeared for the exam on behalf of real applicants, successfully cleared all stages and were on the verge of joining the force when the fraud came to to an investigation by India Today, the malpractice is not isolated to a single district. It spans across multiple areas in the state, prompting a deeper probe into the entire recruitment process conducted by the Madhya Pradesh Employees Selection Board (MPESB). Sources confirm that at least a dozen people have been arrested across three districts, including both the candidates who applied and the impostors who took the exams for may be noted that the recruitment exam was held between August 12 and September 12, 2023 and as many as 7 lakh applicants appeared for 7,090 positions. The written test results were declared in March 2024, followed by final selections made in March 2025 after physical tests. It was during the joining phase that discrepancies in identity verification began to surface. In one such case, Ram Roop Gurjar from Morena arrived at the SP Office in Alirajpur to assume his post. However, the officials became suspicious when his Aadhaar card appeared to have been tampered with and his admit card photo did not match his current appearance. advertisementThe officials ran a fingerprint analysis which confirmed the person who appeared for the exam was not Gurjar, but someone else. Upon questioning, Gurjar confessed that a solver named Amarendra Singh from Bihar had taken the exam for him for Rs 1 lakh. The police have arrested both in the case. Soon more cases started coming to light in other districts as well. In Morena, candidates Radha Charan and Dinesh Singh had similarly manipulated their Aadhaar data, updating biometrics before and after the exam to facilitate identity swaps. In Sheopur district, a larger racket was uncovered with seven arrests, including three selected candidates, namely Sonu Rawat, Santosh Rawat and Aman Singh, and their solvers. Aadhaar agents who enabled biometric alterations were also taken into investigation, authorities discovered that the entire operation followed a disturbingly well-organised and methodical pattern. Solvers would first identify candidates willing to pay for a guaranteed pass. After which, aadhaar biometrics were manipulated through internal system access, swapping fingerprints and facial data. The solvers would then sit for the exams and physical tests. After the process, the candidates' original biometrics were restored to avoid detection during the joining phase. The fraud was exposed only when biometric mismatches occurred at the final verification government has initiated a confidential investigation in the matter. This scandal draws uncomfortable parallels with the infamous Vyapam scam, in which proxy candidates were used in entrance and recruitment exams, leading to national outrage and a series of mysterious inputs from Chandrabhan Bhadauria, Khemraj Dubey and Dushyant

Gurjar Mahapanchayat to be held at Pilupura on June 8

1 2 Jaipur: President of Gurjar Aarakshan Sangharsh Samiti, Vijay Bainsla, announced Friday that a Gurjar Mahapanchayat will be held on June 8 in Pilupura, Bharatpur. This location is significant as it was where the Gurjar agitation was initiated by his father and prominent Gurjar leader, Late Kirori Singh Bainsla, in 2008. The announcement was made during a tribute meeting held at Pilupura Shaheed Sthal, the site where police fired on protesters from the Gurjar caste who were demanding special status on May 23, 2008. The Gurjar Mahapanchayat will address several pending issues related to the 5% reservation for most backward classes (MBCs) in govt jobs and educational institutions in Rajasthan. Earlier, the Samiti submitted a memorandum to the department of personnel (DoP) regarding the govt's failure to implement the 5% reservation for MBC candidates in govt jobs and educational institutions. Led by Bainsla, the organisation stated that the govt's current roster system reduces reserved positions at division, district, and block levels, resulting in MBC candidates failing to secure positions. In their memorandum, the Gurjar Aarakshan Sangharsh Samiti (GASS) highlighted that while recruitments are announced at the state level, they are implemented by dividing them among divisions, districts, tehsils, and departments. Consequently, while the 5% MBC reservation should apply across Rajasthan, MBC beneficiaries do not receive the full 5% reservation. "Under the 5% reservation, one of 20 positions is reserved for MBCs. When govt jobs are notified, they are done at the state level. When the roster system is applied, state-level recruitment is divided among divisions, districts, tehsils, and departments, and the original 100 recruitments get fragmented. For example, if there is a recruitment for 100 positions, 5 should be reserved for MBCs based on a 5% reservation," it added.
