MLA Vijayudu Slams Congress Over Poor Conditions in Gurukula Schools; Visits Mahatma Jyotirao Phule Boys School in Alampur

Gadwal: Alampur MLA Vijayudu strongly criticized the Congress government for its alleged discriminatory attitude in providing basic infrastructure to Gurukula (residential welfare) schools across the state. On Wednesday, he visited the Mahatma Jyotirao Phule Boys Gurukula School located at Alampur Chowrasta in Undavelli Mandal, after receiving information that students were planning to walk to the Gadwal Collectorate to protest against the poor conditions in their school. During the visit, MLA Vijayudu personally interacted with students and inspected the school's condition. Students shared several distressing issues with the MLA, including the regular supply of food contaminated with insects, lack of clean drinking water, and absence of functional toilets, forcing them to use nearby fields for sanitation. Deeply moved by the plight of the students, the MLA folded his hands and appealed emotionally to government authorities to resolve these issues immediately and provide quality education. Vijayudu assured the students that he would bring the matter to the attention of the District Collector and the concerned Minister, and ensure that the problems are resolved swiftly so that the students can focus on their education without further hardship. In a scathing attack on the current Congress government, MLA Vijayudu stated that the Gurukula schools, which were established with great pride and purpose by the previous BRS government, are now being systematically neglected. He alleged that basic facilities are deliberately being denied to students from poor and marginalized communities who form the majority of Gurukula school populations. District BRS Coordinator Kurva Palleiah Adds to the Criticism District BRS Coordinator Kurva Palleiah, who accompanied the MLA, condemned the Revanth Reddy-led Congress government, labeling it as "ignorant and reckless." He claimed that under former CM KCR's leadership, Gurukula schools were thriving as 'model institutions', but under the current regime, they have deteriorated into 'institutions of darkness.' He accused the Congress government of deliberately stalling development in Gurukula schools, simply because they were launched under the BRS administration. 'Today, students don't even have drinking water. They eat food with insects in it. There are no toilets, and they are forced to defecate in the open. What if a snake or insect bites them at night? Are we waiting for another tragedy?' he asked, referring to a recent incident at Uyyalawada Gurukula. He demanded that the government immediately take responsibility and provide all necessary infrastructure, especially for students from disadvantaged sections. Participants Several BRS leaders participated in the visit and expressed solidarity with the students, including: Gajendra Reddy, Chairman, Kalugotla PS, Pulluru Raghu Reddy, Yuvaraj Madhav, Other local leaders and concerned citizens. This visit and the MLA's statements highlight growing concerns among opposition leaders over deteriorating conditions in welfare schools and alleged neglect by the Congress government. The issue is expected to gain further political traction in the coming days.

On Rahul Gandhi's b'day, Jagga Reddy extends `10 lakh assistance to a cancer patient

Hyderabad: To mark senior party leader and the Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi's birthday, TPCC working president T Jagga Reddy on Thursday extended Rs 10 lakh financial assistance to a cancer patient, Hari Krishna Prasad, of Thallapalli village in Sangareddy constituency. Prasad has been suffering from cancer for some time now. As he comes from a poor family, Reddy provided aid for his full treatment. As Prasad was earning just Rs 13,000 per month and could not afford a costly battle against cancer, the Congress leader came forward to support Prasad, who works as an employee in a Gurukula school. He has a wife, Shailaja, a daughter studying in LKG, and a son in first grade. Prasad was diagnosed with cancer three months ago. His family has already spent lakhs on treatment. With no money left for further medical expenses, the family was left helpless. Reddy came to know about Prasad's situation through his followers. Moved by the plight, Reddy volunteered to bear the complete cost of the treatment. He handed over Rs 10 lakh assistance to the patient on Thursday. Reddy reassured Prasad and his family of his support and encouraged them to stay strong. He also promised to facilitate help through the Chief Minister's Relief Fund to cover the treatment expenses incurred so far. Prasad's family expressed heartfelt gratitude for Reddy's support.

CM: BRS machinations hampering job allotments

Hyderabad: Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy accused the previous BRS government of neglecting the weaker sections, especially denying access to education. He regretted that the BRS had not even conducted Group 1 exams when it was in power. It is now filing cases in various courts against Group 1 exams conducted by our government, he alleged. Participating in the Gurukula award function at Babu Jagjivan Ram Bhavan, Reddy blamed the Opposition party for hatching a political conspiracy and creating hurdles for issuing appointment orders of Group-1. He said that the previous regime did not want SC, ST and BC students to study, rather it wanted them to pursue traditional caste professions. Hence, they have come up with schemes like goat, sheep and fish distribution schemes, he said. 'Why did the BRS not take any steps to encourage the weaker sections as stakeholders in the government by providing education? Isn't it true that they played with the lives of the unemployed for 10 years without releasing job notifications? he asked. The Chief Minister criticised the Opposition for giving posts to their family members in just six months after the poll debacle and preventing genuinely deserving youngsters from getting jobs. He said that in a welcome contrast, the present government has already filled 59,000 government jobs and had conducted Group 1 exams. 'The last government had not even conducted Group 1 exams and is now obstructing by filing cases in courts. Today, the issue has become a social problem,' said Revanth Reddy. Revanth Reddy pointed out that the government has appointed the first Dalit Vice-chancellor in the 100 years of Osmania University's history. The government also appointed Aakunuri Murali as the Chairman of the Education Commission and Gaddam Prasad Kumar as the Assembly Speaker. All of them have been recognised because of their educational background and not caste. The future of the country lies in the classrooms, he stressed.
