Veteran filmmaker David Dhawan is celebrating his 74th birthday, and wishes for the director have been pouring in on social media. A few months ago, Mrunal also shared a picture with David Dhawan from the sets of Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai during the Glasgow schedule. 'Still pinching myself! Guyssssss I'M DAVID DHAWANS HEROINE ! I'm beyond grateful Sir," she wrote. Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai stars David Dhawan's son and actor Varun Dhawan. Produced by Ramesh Taurani under the Tips Films banner, the film also features Mrunal Thakur, Pooja Hegde, Maniesh Paul, Jimmy Shergill, Mouni Roy, Chunkey Panday, Rakesh Bedi, and Ali Asgar. The film is scheduled to release on April 10, 2026. Meanwhile, in other news, Mrunal Thakur recently hit the headlines after an old interview resurfaced in which she appeared to take a dig at Bollywood star Bipasha Basu. The video showed a young Mrunal calling Bipasha 'manly with muscles' and stating she was far better than her. After facing massive backlash, Mrunal issued an apology over the 'silly' remarks she made as a 19-year-old. '19-year-old me as a teenager said many silly things. I didn't always understand the weight of my voice or how much words, even in jest, could hurt. But it did and for that I am deeply sorry. My intent was never to body-shame anyone. It was playful banter in an interview that went too far. But I understand how it came across, and I truly wish I had chosen my words differently," she wrote. Varun Dhawan 'Bullied' By Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai Co-Stars Mrunal Thakur, Mouni Roy
Following the release of her recent film 'The Bhootnii', actress Mouni Roy has joined the cast of David Dhawan's upcoming comic caper titled 'Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai' (HJTIHH). The film stars Varun Dhawan, Mrunal Thakur and others, and the team is currently shooting for the film in Glasgow, Scotland for a month-long schedule. It's not all work and filming for the cast, though! The actors are also enjoying some fun, light-hearted moments on set. Varun Dhawan recently shared a behind-the-scenes video, giving a glimpse of how Mrunal and Mouni have been playfully 'bullying' him. The hilarious video shared by Varun Dhawan on Instagram, shows Mrunal Thakur playfully tying the laces of both his shoes together, while Mouni Roy sits beside her, laughing and observing. Puzzled by this, Varun asks Mrunal why she is doing this. As he tries to walk, he stumbles due to the tied laces. Mouni and Mrunal laugh, but also help him into a chair. Producer Ramesh Taurani tells Varun Dhawan not to go along with such antics. Mouni then points at Mrunal and says, 'She did it!" It looks like the team of 'Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai' was shooting for a hospital scene, and the video was captured on the sets of the film.
