YSRCP is trying to defame TTD, destabilise govt: NDA

1 2 Tirupati : Leaders of the National Democratic Alliance ( NDA ) have accused the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) of attempting to sow conspiracies along religious lines to defame the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) with the intention of destabilising the incumbent govt. It may be recalled that on Friday night, a devotee in the Sarvadarshan queue created ruckus by accusing the TTD management of subjecting devotees to extreme hardships by not providing them with food and other refreshments during their hours-long wait in the queues for the darshan. The incident had immediately gone viral on various social media platforms. In an immediate response to the accusations, when the TTD administration reached out to the devotee, he retracted from his previous statements, stating he was feeling uncomfortable in the queue lines and hence, had levelled the accusations against the management. He also acknowledged that there was a continuous supply of food, milk and other refreshments for devotees waiting in the queues. Considering this was done with malafied intention, TTD additional EO Ch Venkaiah Choudary warned people to excercise restraint before resorting to malicious propaganda against TTD as it is linked to sentiments of millions of devotees of Lord Venkateswara. After an enquiry was carried out regarding the incident, the ruling TDP labelled the man, who had allegedly raised slogans in the queue line, as a YSRCP activist. HRD minister Nara Lokesh posted on X that the devotee who had tried to resort to false propaganda at Tirumala was a YSRCP activist identified as Baddili Acha Rao, a resident of Timmapuram village in Kakinada rural mandal. "Yet another conspiracy of the YSRCP at the sacred abode of Lord Venkateswara at Tirumala has been exposed. While trying to execute their plans to perfection, miscreants recorded the propaganda and circulated it on social media. TTD management, led by its chairman BR Naidu, are committed to the welfare of the common devotees visiting Tirumala. Such conspiracies by the YSRCP on the sacred hill town will not be tolerated, and rather, will be dealt with in a stringent manner," the HRD minister warned .

No change in schedule of Mega DSC: Andhra Pradesh govt

VIJAYAWADA: The State government has made it clear that the Mega DSC-2025 examination will be held as scheduled from June 6, dismissing the widespread demand on social media from aspirants for its postponement. In a statement issued on Friday, the School Education Department clarified that any delay in conducting the exam will jeopardise the future of 2.45 lakh candidates, and disrupt the academic year for lakhs of school students. The government reiterated that Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu signed the Mega DSC file on June 13, 2024, soon after assuming office as part of his commitment to strengthen the education system in the State, and fulfil the aspirations of unemployed youth. Under the leadership of HRD Minister Nara Lokesh, the government initiated the process to fill 16,347 teacher posts, and ensured that the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) was conducted transparently twice. The Mega DSC syllabus was uploaded on the official website in November 2024, giving aspirants more than six months to prepare for the exam. Responding to the aspirants' plea for over a 90-day preparation period post-notification, the government explained that the recruitment process was initiated with the issuance of GO No. 27 on June 13, 2024, and candidates were given ample time to qualify through two TETs.

Let's set aside egos, there will be no divorce, says Andhra Minister Nara Lokesh

KADAPA: TDP national general secretary and HRD Minister Nara Lokesh has emphasised the importance of unity in governance and the need for political humility. Addressing a massive public gathering as part of the TDP Mahanadu in Kadapa on Thursday, he said the TDP-JSP-BJP alliance, with the full support of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, is working efficiently to develop the State on all fronts. Lokesh called for humility in leadership, drawing lessons from the previous regime's downfall. 'Arrogance destroyed the past rulers. From 151 seats, they were reduced to just 11. Power should never disconnect us from the ground. We should serve people whether we are in power or not,' he stressed. Addressing concerns within the alliance, he acknowledged minor issues but emphasised unity. 'Even small families have internal issues. In an alliance, it is natural. But we should put egos aside and work together. Write this down - there will be no break-up. If we want the State to prosper and people to be happy, we should stay united,' he asserted. Lokesh underscored the importance of government continuity for sustained progress. Reflecting on the development achieved during 2014-19, he said the change in government in 2019 halted Andhra Pradesh's development momentum, and sent it back by 30 years due to poor governance.

Andhra Pradesh minister Nara Lokesh says re-election of incumbent government key for sustainable progress

Tirupati: HRD minister Nara Lokesh asserted that Andhra Pradesh will witness development for a prolonged period of time if the state adopts the Gujarat and Odisha models of governance where the incumbent govts were elected for seven and five consecutive terms on a trot. Addressing a massive turnout of over five lakh people at the Mahanadu public meeting held at Kadapa on Thursday, Lokesh recalled Andhra Pradesh too witnessed tremendous progress on all fronts when the TDP under his father and grandfather's leadership won two consecutive elections on a trot between 1994-2004. Lokesh recalled the manner in which the TDP managed to balance between development and welfare after coming to power in the state post the bifurcation of combined Andhra Pradesh in 2014. "But because of a regime change in 2019, all the development initiated during the TDP regime came to a standstill. While no new industries evinced interest to come to AP, the existing industries also relocated to other states during the YSRCP rule," the HRD minister recalled. "While the state was doomed on all fronts, nearly 30,000 people lost their lives by consuming spurious liquor during the YSRCP regime. False cases were booked on TDP leaders and cadres and many were intimidated by force and attacks," Lokesh recalled. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like 5 Books Warren Buffett Wants You to Read In 2025 Blinkist: Warren Buffett's Reading List Undo He said that the YSRCP's tally came down drastically from 151 seats in 2019 to just 11 in 2024 elections purely due to it's arrogance. He underlined that it was quintessential for the ruling party leaders to set aside their arrogance and egos and remain grounded at all times. Stating that the BJP, Jana Sena and the TDP came together with a common agenda in the 2024 elections and today the people of the state who pledged support to the alliance are able to reap the fruits of their decision. "We secured 164 out of 175 assembly seats with 94 percent strike rate. Because we were also able to win 21 out of 25 Lok Sabha seats in the 2024 elections, the NDA govt at the Centre is literally granting every single request from AP as a special case since the state backed the NDA alliance," Lokesh added. The HRD minister also mocked the YSRCP by stating that the then ruling party, which bragged about winning 175 out of 175 seats, ended up winning just 11 assembly seats in the 2024 elections, not even qualifying for the status of the opposition party. "Even after losing so badly, the Tadepalli palace hasn't still opened its doors for its own leaders and the Aam janta," Lokesh added. The HRD minister underlined that though there will be problems and differences, the alliance should remain intact. "There should be no scope for divorce, misfires and crossfire in the NDA alliance at any cost," Lokesh said. Listing out the rollout of various welfare schemes including the NTR Bharosa pensions, launch of free bus rides for women from Aug 15, and the Deepam scheme, the minister also assured the people of the state that the NDA alliance had adopted decentralised form of development. "The Rayalaseema region, considered backward, is being transformed into an electronics, renewable energy and horticultural hub under the govt's mission Rayalaseema initiative. Similarly, various development projects are being grounded across the state region wise," Lokesh asserted.
