Acid attack: Another suspect remanded for a week
KOTA BHARU: Another suspect allegedly involved in the acid attack on a spa owner in Beris Kubur Besar, Bachok, on Saturday has been remanded starting today until May 29. Magistrate Rais Imran Hamid approved the police's request for the remand order to further investigate the 45-year-old man under Section 326 of the Penal Code. The man, dressed in a police lock-up uniform and wearing a face mask, arrived at the Kota Bharu Magistrate's Court at 10.30 am. Yesterday, media reports cited that a 38-year-old female suspect was placed under a five-day remand in connection with the case. The spa owner was doused with a liquid believed to be acid in an incident near a convenience store in Beris Kubur Besar, Tawang, in Bachok. The attack left the victim with severe burns on her shoulder, back, arms and legs. However, she is reportedly in stable condition and is receiving treatment at Universiti Sains Malaysia Hospital (HUSM), Kubang Kerian.

Cops nab second suspect linked to Bachok acid attack

Bachok district police chief Ismail Jamaluddin said the suspect was arrested at 4pm yesterday at a rubber factory in Kuala Krai. He said the 45-year-old man was detained to assist in investigations under Section 326 of the Penal Code 'Police will apply for a remand order for the suspect at the magistrates' court today to facilitate further investigations,' he told Bernama when contacted today. Yesterday, Bernama reported that a female suspect had been arrested at the same factory on suspicion of being involved in the incident. Kelantan police chief Yusoff Mamat said the 38-year-old woman was arrested at 4pm on Wednesday. Last Saturday, a female trader was doused with a liquid believed to be acid by an unknown individual in an incident near a convenience store in Beris Kubur Besar, Tawang, near Bachok. The attack left the victim with severe burns on her shoulder, back, arms and legs. However, she is currently reported to be in stable condition and is receiving treatment at Hospital Universiti Sains Malaysia (HUSM), Kubang Kerian.

Second suspect in Bachok acid attack nabbed, say cops
KOTA BARU: Police have arrested a man in connection with the acid attack on a spa owner in Beris Kubur Besar, Bachok, last Saturday. Bachok district police chief Supt Mohamad Ismail Jamaluddin said the suspect was arrested at 4pm yesterday at a rubber factory in Kuala Krai. He said the 45-year-old man was detained to assist in investigations under Section 326 of the Penal Code. "Police will apply for a remand order for the suspect today to facilitate further investigations,' he told Bernama when contacted Friday (May 23). Yesterday, Bernama reported that a female suspect had been arrested at the same factory on suspicion of being involved in the incident.
