Barwala ex-MLA Indra Nain dies at 92

Hisar: Former MLA from Barwala constituency in Hisar district, Indra Singh Nain, passed away on Saturday at the age of 92. He had been ailing for some time and was undergoing treatment at Jindal Hospital in Hisar. Nain had adopted his nephew, advocate Jaiveer Nain, who performed the last rites. The funeral procession began from his native village, Hasangarh and concluded at the village cremation ground. A large number of people cutting across social and political lines attended the ceremony to pay their respects. A long-time member of the Congress, Indra Singh Nain was elected as MLA from Barwala in 1982 and served until 1987. He also served as chairman of Hafed during the tenure of the Congress government. Later, he joined the Haryana Vikas Party (HVP) alongside former chief minister Bansi Lal and contested from the Narwana Assembly constituency, though he was unsuccessful.
