Encounter in Kishtwar after security forces intensify search operations in Jammu
An encounter broke out Sunday between the Indian Army and some terrorists in Hadal Gal area of Jammu and Kashmir's Kishtwar following a search operation in the area. In a post on X, Army's White Knight Corps said: 'OP CHERJI. Based on specific inputs an operation was launched by #IndianArmy in the Hadal Gal area of #Kishtwar Sector. Contact has been established with #terrorists. The #operation is currently in progress'. This comes amid searches in Jammu in the aftermath of the April 22 terror attack at Pahalgam in Kashmir where 26 people – mostly tourists but also one local pony operator – were shot dead. Searches have especially intensified in the areas south of the Pir Panjal range. Although there are no details yet, sources said there were intelligence reports that '2-3 terrorists' were reportedly hiding in Hadal Gal and that security forces equipped with night vision devices are conducting searches even during night. This comes nearly a month after a topmost commander of the Pakistan-based Jaish-e-Mohammad was killed in a joint operation by security forces and the police in the adjoining Dudu-Basantgarh area of Udhampur district. According to officials, the terrorist, identified as Haider and codenamed Maulvi, was from Pakistan and was part of a four-member group that is suspected to have entered Basantgarh from the adjoining Kathua district. The police and security forces said thy had been tracking the group since last year after a village defense guard (VDG) and an Army soldier were killed in separate encounters. While Haider was killed on June 26, his accomplices managed to escape into the thick forests.

Representative Image NEW DELHI: Jammu and Kashmir 's DGP Nalin Prabhat on Wednesday announced that the terrorist killed in the Dudu-Basantgarh forest encounter in Udhampur was a prominent JeM commander from Pakistan who had operated in the region for four years. He emphasised the ongoing anti-terror operations and acknowledged the crucial role of public support in the success, PTI reported. Speaking to reporters at Akhnoor police station, the police chief said, "The anti-terror operations are taking place continuously, and recently, we got a very big success in Dudu-Basantgarh, where a senior and top JeM commander, who was active in that area for the last four years, was killed. The operations are taking place and all the terrorists will be eliminated one by one." On June 26, Pakistani terrorist Haider, also known as Maulvi, was killed in combat, whilst three associates escaped due to poor weather conditions and the challenging terrain of Basantgarh's dense forest. Terrorist killed recently in Basantgarh was top JeM commander Haider: Jammu and Kashmir DGP
Jammu and Kashmir Director General of Police Nalin Prabhat on Wednesday (July 16, 2025) said the terrorist eliminated in an encounter in Dudu-Basantgarh forest in Udhampur district was a topmost commander of Pakistan-based Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) outfit who was active in the area for the last four years. Asserting that the security forces are continuing their operations to neutralise terrorists, he highlighted the good relations between police and public and said the police cannot be successful without the support of the people. "The anti-terror operations are taking place continuously, and recently, we got a very big success in Dudu-Basantgarh, where a senior and top JeM commander, who was active in that area for the last four years, was killed. The operations are taking place and all the terrorists will be eliminated one by one," the police chief told reporters at the Akhnoor police station near Jammu. On June 26, JeM terrorist Haider, code-named Maulvi, from Pakistan, was killed in a gunfight while three of his associates managed to escape, taking advantage of inclement weather, challenging topography and dense forest in the Basantgarh area. However, the DGP declined to give the exact number of terrorists active in the forest areas of the Jammu region and said "that number cannot be given in the public domain". The DGP, along with Inspector General of CRPF Gopal Sharma; Inspector General of Police, Jammu Zone, Bhim Sen Tuti; and Deputy Inspector General of police, Jammu-Samba-Kathua range, Shiv Kumar, visited Akhnoor police station to felicitate the personnel for receiving the prestigious 'Award of Excellence' from the Ministry of Home Affairs in the annual ranking of police stations in J-K for 2024. Handing over the award to the police station, the DGP hailed the officers and men posted at the police station for their rapport with the public and said the successful operation in the Akhnoor sector early this year was the result of timely input received from the public. "Police cannot be successful without the support of the public. The public support makes all difficult tasks easy, otherwise there will be challenges," he said, lauding the Jammu police for their outstanding performance against the drug menace, bovine smuggling and gangsters. He also lauded the exceptional performance of the then station house officer (SHO) Tariq Ahmed, Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Mohan Sharma and Superintendent of Police Brijesh Sharma for their outstanding leadership and dedication in 2024. He extended his best wishes to incumbent SHO Sanjeev Chib and SDPO Varinder Gupta for continuing the legacy of excellence.

Kuwaiti Woman Divorced, Denied Rights For Defaming And Abusing Husband
KUWAIT CITY, July 15:The Family Court ruled to divorce a Kuwaiti woman, stripping her of all financial and legal rights after it was proven that she had severely abused her husband, caused conflicts, and violated the marital covenant. Lawyer Enaam Haider represented the husband and presented a comprehensive case supported by audio recordings, messages, and testimonies that proved the repeated insults her client was subjected to, threats of abandonment, and defamation of his reputation within both the family and workplace. She highlighted that the wife deliberately mistreated the husband's family and refused to fulfill her marital duties. Lawyer Haider explained that the court verified the validity of the evidence and determined that continuing the marriage would cause the husband intolerable harm. The court was convinced that the wife had crossed the boundaries of decency and Islamic law, thus forfeiting all her rights. Lawyer Haider affirmed that the ruling is a victory for every wronged husband who has been unjustly accused.
