Educational meeting to evaluate summer activities & programs in Ma'een District, Capital Secretariat
Sana'a – Saba: An expanded educational meeting was held on Saturday in Ma'een District, chaired by the Capital's Secretary, Dr. Hamoud Abbad, to evaluate the activities and programs of this year's summer courses in the district. The meeting, attended by the Education Sector officials in the Secretariat, Abdulqadir Al-Mahdi and Osama Al-Wajih, as well as educational leaders, principals, and administrators of public and private schools, reviewed the performance level and mechanisms to enhance efforts in enabling male and female students to benefit from summer school programs and activities. The discussions also emphasized everyone's role in ensuring the success of the courses. The Capital's Secretary praised the educational efforts in implementing and ensuring the success of the summer courses' programs and activities, aiming to achieve their noble goals of building an enlightened generation grounded in science, knowledge, the culture of the Holy Quran, and faith-based identity. He stressed the need to unify efforts to support and ensure the success of the summer courses, which include distinguished programs and activities in educational, cultural, cognitive, skill-based, sports, and other fields. For his part, Al-Mahdi highlighted the importance of the meeting in evaluating the performance of summer activities and programs and enhancing the educational sector's role in their success. Al-Nuaimi & Abbad inspect progress on Algeria street rehabilitation & maintenance project
Sana'a - Saba: Member of the Supreme Political Council, Mohammed Al-Nuaimi, along with Sana'a Mayor Dr. Hamoud Abbad and First Deputy Mayor Khaled Al-Madani, inspected the progress of work on the Algeria Street rehabilitation and maintenance project in Al-Wahda district. The project, funded by the Capital Secretariat at a cost of 108 million Yemeni riyals, aims to improve infrastructure in the area. During the inspection, Al-Nuaimi, Abbad, and Al-Madani—accompanied by Deputy Mayor for Works Sector Eng. Abdulkarim Al-Houthi and District Director Sami Hameed—reviewed the implementation of an asphalt layer for Algeria Street, which stretches from 60th Street to its intersection with the Western Ring Road, spanning 2,150 meters in length and nine meters in width. Engineers briefed them on the project, which includes rehabilitation, maintenance, repairs, and the addition of a new asphalt layer covering 28,000 square meters as part of the second phase of the project in Al-Wahda District, supervised by the Projects Sector of the Capital Secretariat. They urged the Works and Projects Sector, along with the engineers, to expedite the completion of this service project in accordance with technical , engineering specifications and within the specified timeframe, ensuring smoother traffic flow for vehicles and citizens. Capital, Sana'a,... Ongoing & Efforts for Maintenance & Restoration of Streets
Sana'a - Saba: The Capital, Sana'a, is currently undergoing intensive rehabilitation, maintenance, and paving of several main streets, tunnels, and flood channels. The work is being carried out by teams from the Executive Unit for the Construction, Maintenance, and Development of Roads and Public Places, with funding from the local authority. Over the past two weeks, the Executive Unit's field teams have laid new asphalt layers, leveled, compacted, and restored a number of dilapidated streets and sections, and addressed potholes, depressions, and undulations. The layers cover an area of 8,250 square meters, and repairs 1,466 square meters, and the holes were filled with 196 tons of hot asphalt. The emergency restoration and maintenance projects and works implemented by the unit in various directorates of the capital included the rehabilitation and maintenance of Amran Street in the Thawra Directorate, starting from the Clock Tunnel and Bridge, passing through Television Street to the beginning of the Amran Roundabout Bridge, with an area of 6,750 square meters, new layers and 30 tons of asphalt to fill the holes, in addition to the restoration of the Clock Tunnel. The projects also included the maintenance and restoration of "Safar, Iran and Beirut" streets in the Hadda area of the As-Sab'een district, with an area of 600 square meters, as well as the restoration of Madbah Street in the Ma'in district, with an area of 1,500 square meters, an asphalt layer, and 390 restoration works. The periodic, emergency and preventive maintenance work carried out by the technical teams targeted filling potholes and erosion with hot asphalt on the streets of Al-Khamsin, Al-Arbaeen, Hadda, Al-Zubairi, Al-Daeri, Taiz, Bab Al-Yemen and Bab Al-Salam, Al-Muayyad and Al-Kabsi in Al-Jarraf, Al-Jamna and Al-Matar, as well as cleaning and removing waste from the targeted streets. The capital's mayor, Dr. Hamoud Abbad, stated that the projects are a translation of the directives of the leader of the revolution, the implementation of the directives of the Supreme Political Council, and the program of the Government of Change and Construction, to raise the level of performance, provide services, and implement projects that touch the lives of citizens, contribute to meeting their needs, and advance local development. He stressed the continued implementation of service and development projects funded by local authorities within the framework of sustainable development plans and programmes that seek to improve basic services across various directorates. Abbad stressed the need to intensify efforts and continue emergency repairs to main and side streets, as well as to address potholes and limit their expansion, thus facilitating traffic flow, especially during the holy month of Ramadan. He urged the Public Works Sector, the Executive Unit, and field teams to expedite the implementation and completion of road restoration and rehabilitation works and projects in accordance with technical specifications, ensuring the quality and long-term sustainability of the roads. The Capital Mayor highlighted the importance of implementing projects to rehabilitate and improve streets, as part of the emergency efforts and interventions undertaken by the Capital Municipality to maintain the road, bridge, and tunnel network and prepare for the rainy season. For his part, the Secretariat's Undersecretary for the Works and Projects Sector, Engineer Abdul Karim Al-Houthi, noted that technical teams affiliated with the Executive Unit for Road Maintenance have carried out extensive asphalt maintenance and repair work since the beginning of Ramadan as part of emergency rehabilitation and maintenance projects for streets and tunnels funded by the Capital Secretariat. He stressed the need to continue implementing asphalt projects and repairs on all affected streets in accordance with technical standards, noting the efforts and work being carried out by the Executive Unit's field teams in various directorates. He stated that periodic and emergency maintenance work includes removing damaged layers, treating cracks, resurfacing dilapidated streets and sections, filling potholes, and adding new asphalt layers to ensure the sustainability of the streets. The Houthi deputy stressed the importance of maintaining and renovating streets, tunnels, and bridges to preserve the asphalt and facilitate traffic flow, as part of efforts to improve the capital's infrastructure. For his part, the Deputy Director of the Executive Unit, Engineer Ali Muhraqa, explained that technical teams have begun field work since the beginning of Ramadan to restore and maintain streets and rehabilitate dilapidated sections with new asphalt layers in various directorates. He pointed to the intensification of efforts and the rapid pace of work to implement and complete all service projects and works in accordance with technical specifications, appreciating the support and interest of the Capital, Sana'a leadership and the follow-up and supervision of the Projects and Works Sector over the projects implemented by the Executive Unit. Engineer Muhraqa confirmed that field teams are continuing to repair, maintain, and asphalte damaged sections and excavate roads in the districts of Al-Thawra, Ma'in, Al-Sab'een, Al-Wahda, and others, in accordance with the work plan and emergency intervention program.
