BREMEN, Ga. - A Texas man is facing multiple charges after leading authorities on a high-speed chase that ended with a crash and foot pursuit in Haralson County, officials said. What we know According to the Haralson County Sheriff's Office, deputies were alerted on Thursday about a stolen Honda Ridgeline traveling eastbound on Interstate 20 from Cleburne County, Alabama. Members of the Crime Suppression Unit positioned themselves near Exit 9 and began following the speeding vehicle. Deputies confirmed the tag was listed as stolen and attempted a traffic stop. The driver accelerated, weaving through traffic before veering off the road and crashing into a tree, the sheriff's office said. The suspect fled the scene on foot and was chased by deputies. Law enforcement from the Haralson County Sheriff's Office, Bremen Police Department, Georgia State Patrol, and other agencies joined the search and set up a perimeter. Authorities said the man was later seen crossing back over I-20 and getting into a pickup truck. Deputies stopped the vehicle and took him into custody. What's next The suspect, identified as 28-year-old Tristan Ty Griffin of Katy, Texas, is charged with reckless driving, theft by receiving stolen property, and felony fleeing or attempting to elude police. Former GA middle school employee charged with sexual exploitation of children
Deputies have charged a former Georgia middle school employee with possessing child sexual abuse material. A K-9 team that specializes in finding electronic devices that store data assisted with the arrest. The Haralson County Sheriff's Office arrested Bradley Kingsley on Tuesday and charged him with felony sexual exploitation of children. 'One of my biggest priorities when I took office was to protect kids,' Sheriff Stacy Williams said. 'I tell people all the time how difficult these cases are to work, for everyone involved.' The GBI's Internet Crimes Against Children division said there were several videos of children involved in sexual acts uploaded to a Verizon account. Investigators tracked the IP address back to a house where they say Kingsley lived and got a warrant. The Murray County Sheriff's Office and its electronic storage detection K-9 team also searched the home. K-9 Maxim and his handler found nine hidden electronic storage devices in the home. The sheriff's office said Kingsley was a former Carroll County Schools employee. The district confirmed to Channel 2 Action News that Kingsley once worked at Bay Springs Middle School. A spokesperson sent the following statement: 'The district learned of the arrest of a former employee. Although the individual has not been employed at Bay Springs Middle School since 2020, we are saddened to hear the news. TALLAPOOSA, Ga. - A 63-year-old Haralson County man has been arrested on multiple felony charges related to the sexual exploitation of children, following an investigation that began with a cybertip from the Georgia Bureau of Investigation. What we know Bradley Curtis Kingsley of Tallapoosa was taken into custody Tuesday after investigators with the Haralson County Sheriff's Office executed a search warrant at his residence. Authorities say the arrest stems from a case that began in May, when investigators received a tip from the GBI's Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) system. The tip included multiple videos of prepubescent children engaged in sexual acts that had been uploaded to a Verizon account. Investigators specializing in Crimes Against Children and ICAC cases identified the account holder, confirmed his location, and matched the content to an IP address associated with an upload. Warrants to search Kingsley's home were then obtained and executed with the assistance from the Murray County Sheriff's Office, including K-9 Maxim—an electronic storage detection dog—and his handler. During the search, investigators found a laptop with active child sexual abuse material playing on the screen. After several hours of collecting evidence, K-9 Maxim located nine additional hidden electronic storage devices inside the residence. What's next Kingsley has been charged with multiple counts of felony sexual exploitation of children. 3 men charged in Haralson County for vehicle break-ins, theft
The Haralson County Sheriff's Office said three men were arrested for theft and entering vehicles after deputies were sent to check on a call about trespassers at a dealership. According to the sheriff's office, deputies were sent to West Georgia Auto Sales on Harmon Road in reference to a trespassing report. When the deputies got there, they found Timothy Turner, Jr. loitering and found out he had an active warrant out for his arrest from HCSO. Turner was arrested and taken to the Haralson County Detention Center. Deputies returned to the business and found Todd Philpot and Benjamin Smith, who deputies said were arrested after breaking into a vehicle and trying to take its catalytic converter. When the HCSO Criminal Investigative Division then took over and processed the scene.
