HelloBeautiful x MadameNoire's 2025 Women To Know event, held in New York City, brought together the Black women artists featured on this year's list: LaToya Hobbs, Murjoni Merriweather, and Jewel Ham. In a panel moderated by MadameNoire managing editor, Danica Daniel, the women spoke in-depth about their work as Black women artists, what inspires their art, what fuels their creativity, occupying space within the art world, and more. The event was a moment to celebrate these talented Black women creating art on their own terms and using their work as a vehicle to highlight their respective communities who act as their muses, while also inspiring the next generation of fearless creatives. Source: Andre 'DreVinci' Jones / Andre 'DreVinci' Jones When asked by Daniel what fuels their creativity and how they define themselves as an artist, Merriweather and Hobbs responded with the common theme of community. 'The thing that fuels my creativity is my own self-love,' Merriweather began. 'I feel like when I started I was making it for us, and then eventually I started wanting to make more work that represented my own healing journey. I learned a lot more about myself through creating new work. My community and the people I surround myself with [has also been fuel] it's been like Red Bull to my heart.' Hobbs added her own perspective, stating, 'I'm inspired by my life in general. My own life experiences. I really try to channel and champion the stories of people in my community.' '[I'm] very much inspired by what I like to call everyday heroes because they have extraordinary stories, extraordinary lives. I think there's so much power in the everyday and so many people have phenomenal stories that maybe just don't have like a million followers,' she said. Source: JD Barnes / for HelloBeautiful x MadameNoire Fellow artist Ham also let attendees in on she chooses which stories to tell through her art. 'I always want to stick with the story that feels like home to me,' she said. 'That feels like something that I've experienced or people in my community that are close to me, we've shared an experience.' 'A lot of my sketches and things, they start with a lot of writing, a lot of just what I want the viewer to experience when they're looking at the works. It feels comfortable to me and that's where I'm able to use my voice the most,' Ham added. 'I would tell my younger self not to be concerned about what people think about you because that's something that I used to do. I used to dim myself. Don't try to dim your light to make other people feel comfortable,' Hobbs shared. Merriweather added that she would tell her younger self to 'make the work that I wanna make, do what I wanna do…find my tribe and people who love me for who I am.' Source: Women To Know Covers | iOne Editorial | 2025-04-23 / Ione Digital – cs 'Keep at it baby! If you don't wanna go, you don't gotta go,' Ham exclaimed. We thank these incredible women for sharing their art with us and can't wait to see what they do next. Evelyn Lozada Dishes On Friendship With Jennifer Williams
Source: HelloBeautiful / VH1 As fans of the iconic franchise, Basketball Wives, we've watched Jennifer Williams and Evelyn Lozada's friendship go through many stages. The duo, who entered the franchise as besties, faced challenges stemming from romantic relationships to family life and everything in between. This season, their friendship was put to the test again after Evelyn voiced her concerns over Jennifer's marriage to Christian Gold. Evelyn accused Christian of being a scammer and, well, you can imagine how that went. We caught up with Jennifer, Evelyn, and Jackie Christie ahead of the premiere of season 12, and the trio dished on why they returned for another season, the status of Jennifer and Evelyn's friendship, and the most fashionable of the Basketball Wives set. 'These are my sisters. It's a family. We're dysfunctional at times, but it's a lot of love there and we grow together and we grow forward,' said Jackie Christie, who was seated between Jennifer and Evelyn. Jennifer Williams and Evelyn Lozada's Friendship CLOSE Speaking of sisterhood, Evelyn opened up about the state of her and Jen's friendship, which has become strained. If you caught the first two episodes of Basketball Wives, Jennifer found love in Christian and married him despite concerns from her friends about his legal history. In one scene, Jennifer claps back, asking Evelyn why she continues to refer to her husband as a felon when Evelyn's daughter, Shaniece Hairston, had a child by rapper The Game, who has a long rap sheet. Despite the tense interaction, Jennifer and Evelyn were 'cordial' during press time. 'We're grown women,' Evelyn explained. 'We're adults, we may agree to disagree and you know, the show's gonna air, so that's gonna add a whole layer of whatever else is to come because, you know, you get to see what that person was saying, what she was saying, vice versa, so, but I think you know, we're just mature women and we can coexist, we can do this, come, you know, do press, promote the show.' While Jennifer was mostly quiet, she jumped in to talk about her fashion sense and love for labels, saying, 'I've been a fashion girl since I was young. I always was into fashion and just beauty in general and you know, I guess it feels good that people kind of correlate me with fashion because it's something I love and you know sometimes you get it right, sometimes you get it wrong, but that's that's the thing about fashion. But I would say my fashion sense is more like I try and be a little edgy but classic at the same time.' Catch Basketball Wives on Monday nights on VH1. Law Roach On Zendaya, Anna Sawai Met Gala Outfit Drama
By now, you're probably aware that Zendaya and Anna Sawai — like many other celebrities — awkwardly ended up wearing very similar outfits at the 2025 Met Gala. Zendaya wore a custom white Louis Vuitton suit and hat, while Anna, who attended the Met for the first time this year, wore a white Dior suit, collared shirt, and hat. It wasn't long before the matching looks became a huge talking point online — and the discourse only grew further when Zendaya's longtime stylist, Law Roach, was filmed reacting to the outfits in real time. While being interviewed by media outlet Hello Beautiful on the Met carpet, Law paused mid-answer and began laughing to himself after spotting Anna. 'I am dying coz she got on Zendaya's look,' he said, looking visibly uncomfortable. 'I'm so glad we came early,' he added, while seemingly never finishing his original response. In a separate red carpet interview with Access Hollywood, Law shouted, 'Oop!' and, 'Who wore it better?' as he saw Anna posing on the red carpet. Law's reaction to the matching outfits quickly garnered a heap of attention online, with several internet users speculating that he seemed 'pissed.' Now, Law has addressed the uproar during a conversation with Entertainment Tonight, during which he clarified that there was no 'disappointment' on his end. 'I think people thought that there was some type of disappointment on our end,' he began. You know, [Anna's] stylist, Karla Welch, and I are very friendly. We've known each other for years. And Karla and I talked.' Law went on to reveal that Zendaya even sent Anna a wholesome gift after the awkward moment. 'Zendaya sent Anna flowers, 'cause it was her first Met,' he shared, before adding: 'But yeah, it wasn't any disappointment. It was, like, two people paying homage to two different people, you know, Yoko [Ono] being Anna's inspiration, and Diana [Ross] and Bianca [Jagger] being ours.' 'It just happened! They both looked great, and they're both beautiful women. I mean, I hate the way that people try to [pitt] women or stylists…You know, it was all great,' Law said. Reacting to Law's comments, several fans praised Zendaya's sweet move, describing her as a 'class act.' 'Zendaya seems really sweet, that was nice of her to send Anna flowers,' someone wrote. 'Of course Zendaya sent flowers, she's a girl's girl,' another user said. However, tons of internet users couldn't help but raise their eyebrows over Law's remarks about Zendaya and Anna's looks being compared, given that his reaction to the matching suits sparked a heap of discourse online. 'He's talking like we didn't see the shade he threw at Anna,' one person wrote. 'I guess he forgot when she was on the carpet. He turned and said at least Zendaya did the carpet first. He flamed the fire,' another agreed. Let me know what you think of Law's response down below, and check out more of our Met Gala coverage here.

Zendaya's stylist reacts to her viral Met Gala twinning moment
Zendaya stunned at the Met Gala in her bridal take on this year's theme, 'Superfine: Tailoring Black Style,' but she wasn't the only one to show up to the event in a sleek white suit. Japanese actor Anna Sawai (' Shogun ') arrived at New York's Metropolitan Museum of Art on Monday, May 5, in a strikingly similar look to Zendaya's three-piece Louis Vuitton number. Though Sawai's outfit was Dior, it featured the same style of blazer, wide-brimmed hat, button-up shirt and tie as the Oakland native. One of the only notable differences between the two ensembles were the stars' pants — while Zendaya's were flared at the bottom, Sawai's were wide. Zendaya's longtime stylist and friend, Law Roach, was in the middle of an interview with HelloBeautiful when Sawai hit the carpet and was visibly shocked when he caught a glimpse of her. 'I am dying 'cause she's got on Zendaya's look,' he said in a clip of the interview shared to TikTok. At that point distracted from the conversation, he could be seen smiling but rolling his eyes. 'I'm so glad we came early.' The twinning moment and the clip of Roach has since gone viral on social media, with many offering up their own opinions and commentary. 'Anna Sawai making history as the first celebrity to accidentally have an identical fit as Zendaya in the same event,' @meltborne quipped on X. X user @13_Gems_17 opined that 'Zendaya definitely pulled off the suit better, while Anna pulls off the hat better.' This year's Met Gala theme is also the name of the Met's Costume Institute spring exhibition, which explored the history of Black style and dandyism. The 'Euphoria' star's outfit is believed to have been referencing both Bianca Jagger's Yves Saint Laurent wedding skirt suit from the '70s and Diana Ross' character in the 1975 Berry Gordy film 'Mahogany.' While Roach confirmed the former on Instagram, Zendaya herself seemed to suggest the latter in her remark, 'She's the reference,' when Ross walked past her on the blue carpet. Zendaya is engaged to her 'Spider-Man' co-star Tom Holland and, while neither actor has spoken publicly about the development, she has flashed her engagement ring at a number of events since debuting it at the Golden Globe Awards in January. On Monday night, it served as one of a few subtle accessories to complete her look. While Zendaya is a Met Gala veteran, having attended since 2015 and served as co-chair last year, this year marked Sawwai's first. Luckily, there doesn't seem to be any bad blood between the two stars over the nearly identical looks. 'We can add homage to @zendaya as well,' Welch posted on her story along with a photo of the Emmy winner's look. A few posts later, she wrote 'Great minds,' over a black screen, tagging Roach.

Zendaya's Stylist Caught On Video Reacting To Anna Sawai's Matching Met Gala Look
When stylist Law Roach saw actor Anna Sawai in what appeared to be a reinterpretation of Zendaya's Met Gala suit, he was momentarily stitched into silence. Zendaya, known for serving draw-dropping, one-of-a-kind aesthetics at the Met Gala, found herself — perhaps for the first time — matching someone else on the carpet. Roach, who styled the 'Euphoria' star, was mid-interview with the outlet 'Hello Beautiful' when Sawai's look caught his sharply trained eye. During the interview, Roach was asked, 'Who helped you tailor your sense of style growing up?' While answering, the stylist was taken aback and responded: 'I am dying because she got on Zendaya's look.' Actors Zendaya and Anna Sawai and stylist Law Roach at the 2025 Met Gala. Getty Images He went on to praise the duo's timing, noting their early arrivals helped avoid any doppelgänger drama on the carpet — a moment that would've woven itself into meme history. ADVERTISEMENT During the event, Zendaya wore a custom Louis Vuitton suit, while Sawai was draped in Dior and styled by Karla Welch. To the untrained eye, the looks could have passed as fashion twins. But a closer examination revealed distinctions in the tailoring of their outfits. Though their hats mimicked each other, Sawai's suit featured more detailed pocketing, and the silhouettes diverged. In a now-expired Instagram Story, Welch tagged Roach and wrote simply, 'Great minds.' She also referred to Sawai's look as a homage to Zendaya. Related...
