Freshman flag football player Taylor Jones dominating New Jersey scene
In Newark, a freshman is quickly rising as one of the best flag football players in the state of New Jersey. Her coach said she's becoming a "face" of the sport in the state. At her pace, she may soon be among the faces of the sport in the nation. Taylor Jones became the first player in New Jersey to pass and run for over 1,000 yards apiece this season, and had accumulated 2,596 yards on the season, as of May 19. Indiana HSSA where are they now? Keagan Rothrock has Gators off to 7-0 start
Keagan Rothrock has already been on college softball's biggest state. Rothrock was the 2023 Indiana High School Sports Awards Girls Athlete of the Year after completing an amazing career at Roncali High School. She arrived at the University of Florida last season and exceeded expectations as the Gators went all the way to the national championship series and the true freshman Rothrock was on the rubber for both games against powerhouse Oklahoma. Florida finished as the national runner-up. Donovan Edwards made news this week after talking about his Michigan team's success against Ohio State in his four seasons with the Wolverines. Normally, that might seem like a weird flex as yes, Michigan beat Ohio State this year, but the Buckeyes then won four straight games to win the national title. But Edwards, the 2021 Detroit High School Sports Awards Offensive Football Player of the Year who is preparing to play in Saturday's Senior Bowl in the hopes of putting an exclamation point on his stellar college career, has some cover in bragging about his four straight wins over Ohio State.
