Melfort man killed after truck collides with semi on Highway 41

A 20-year-old man from Melfort was killed after his truck collided with a semi-truck and trailer on Highway 41 Tuesday morning. Saskatchewan RCMP say the crash occurred west of Melfort, at around 11 a.m. Melfort RCMP, along with EMS and fire services, were called to the scene, where the man, who was the single occupant of the truck, was pronounced dead. His family has been notified. Police say the lone driver of the semi did not report any injuries. Sask. RCMP continues to investigate, with the assistance of a collision reconstructionist.

Highway 41 is closed between Grattan and Foymount roads, according to the ministry. The crash happened about four kilometres south of the village of Eganville, 35 kilometres south of Pembroke and 110 kilometres west of downtown Ottawa.

Multiple injuries following serious crash south of Eganville, Ont.

Police say it happened shortly after noon on Highway 41, between McGrath Road and Spring Creek Road. An OPP spokesperson says four vehicles were involved, with five people injured, according to the initial report from the scene. The extent of the injuries is currently unknown. A stretch of Highway 41 is closed between Foymount Road in Eganville and Grattan Road. The highway is expected to be closed for several hours and police are asking residents to avoid the area. 'Police are asking the public to avoid the area to allow investigators and others to do their work. We have had a number of people stopping at the scene to look,' police said on social media.

Three-vehicle crash on Highway 41 injures 5, blocks all lanes

A three-vehicle crash on state Highway 41 and Creston Road injured 5 people and closed the highway in both directions on Sunday morning. A tan Chevrolet truck, gray Ford minivan and dark gray SUV collided with one another at 9:59 a.m., with one of the vehicles running the stop sign off of Creston Road, according to CHP's traffic incident page. Airbags were deployed in all the vehicles, and passengers in the truck were trapped in their vehicle, the incident report said. Three fire engines, two medic units and two tow trucks were called to the scene. Medics reported two major injuries and three minor injuries, according to emergency scanner traffic. Highway 41 was closed in both directions for a medevac helicopter landing, according to the page.
