Sufiscore and Namyoho Studio's album, ‘RaagRaanis', features an all-woman music ensemble
Sufiscore and Namyoho Studios present 'RaagRaanis', an album by an all-woman music ensemble. It features Grammy-nominated vocalist Varijashree Venugopal, along with Bollywood singers Pratibha Singh Baghel, Kalpana Gandharv, Prajakta Shukre and Himani Kapoor. There are five songs in the album that blend melodies based on ragas, composed in the traditional bandish style, with contemporary sounds. Pratibha 'knew Himani and Prajakta for over a decade and collaborating with them for this album has been an absolute delight. This was also possible because of Sufiscore, which provided us with a platform that gave us the liberty to express music with our own interpretations.' According to Kalpana, each song holds a different emotion and shade of the feminine spirit. 'The song, 'Saayan na aaye', touched my soul the moment I heard it. It is set in one of my favourite ragas — Bhairavi — and speaks of longing, love, and everything in between.' The album opens with 'Jiya Naahi Laage', written by Himani, composed by Prajakta and rendered by Pratibha. Prajakta shines as a singer and composer with 'Bairi Chhaliya', while 'Tere Bina Saawan' highlights the voice of Himani. The vocals were recorded at Laya Digi Studios, Bengaluru and the project is supported by Namyoho Studios. The singers are accompanied by Varad Kathapurkar on the flute, Arshad Khan on the esraj, I.D. Rao on the saxophone and guitarists Swapnomoy Chowdhury and Madhavan. 'Raagraanis' has now been officially released.

Urologist braves blaze, smoke to save family
Ahmedabad: As flames devoured their building, a young mother clutched her sleeping children, unsure if they would live to see another day. In the chaos following Thursday's Air India Dreamliner crash, it was not emergency services but a father's desperate dash through fire that saved his family. Dr Pratik Chaudhary, a urologist at Civil Hospital, lives on the second floor of Atylyam 4 with his wife Himani, their one-and-a-half-year-old son, his elderly parents, and his sister and her three-year-old daughter. At the time of the crash, Himani, both children, her sister, and Chaudhary's father were at home. "I was just scrolling through my phone while the children were asleep," said Himani. "Then, out of nowhere, there was a loud blast. Within seconds, we were surrounded by fire and smoke. Everything turned dark. We couldn't see or breathe." Himani made a frantic call to her husband, who was on duty at Civil Hospital, just 1.5 km away. Chaudhary dashed toward his house. By the time he reached home, the fire had intensified. Grabbing a fire extinguisher and joined by a fellow urologist friend, he fought his way into the building. Facebook friend kills Cong worker, murder unzipped
Rohtak: Police have filed a detailed charge sheet in the murder of Congress worker Himani Narwal, alleging that a man she met on Facebook strangled her after a dispute over Rs 30,000, then dumped her body in a suitcase near a bus stand. The accused, 30-year-old mobile repair technician Sachin from Kherpur village, allegedly killed Himani on Feb 28 at her Rohtak home, pawned her jewellery for Rs 1.87 lakh, and attempted to cover his tracks by impersonating her online, police have claimed. Himani, a prominent face in the Congress party's youth campaigns and a participant in Rahul Gandhi's Bharat Jodo Yatra, reportedly met Sachin nearly a year ago through social media. Their friendship soured when she allegedly asked him for Rs 30,000, a demand he refused. It's written in the charge sheet that Sachin visited Himani's home in Vijay Nagar on the night of Feb 27 and stayed overnight. A heated argument the next evening escalated into violence, with Sachin allegedly strangling her in a fit of rage. CCTV footage captured him dragging the suitcase through the area. The next day, Sachin allegedly used Himani's mobile phone to send text messages to her mother and updated her WhatsApp status in an attempt to delay suspicion. When arrested, he was in possession of her two Apple mobile phones, both of which had been wiped. Those have since been sent to the forensic science laboratory for data recovery. Call detail records show Himani's phone location was aligned consistently with Sachin's before and after her death, further cementing the timeline. Himani's family had suffered previous tragedies already. Her elder brother was murdered 14 years ago, and her father died by suicide a decade later. Her mother had relocated to Delhi with Himani and her younger brother, Jatin, after those incidents. The accused, who has two children and shops in Kanonda and Delhi's Nangloi, was reportedly living apart from his parents despite being their only son.
