Holywell find the target with brilliant Flint post
Holywell Town claimed a notable 2-1 triumph to progress, which spawned a social media post from the club that went viral! The Wellmen's social media accounts used a picture with Flint keeper Jack Flint's number one jersey to demonstrate the scoreline. 'It was outstanding. I texted the fella when they did it,' said Fowler, preparing for this evening's Cymru Premier opener away to Bala Town. 'I'm not one of those managers that are bitter in defeat. The result is disappointing, but Holywell found a way to see out the game.' And the main lesson for Fowler? He quipped: 'If we're going to lose, then we have to lose by more than one goal!' Connah's Quay Nomads will start their top flight season at Colwyn Bay on Sunday. Meanwhile, Nomads' women will travel to Flint in Adran North action on December 7. The return derby will be played on March 22.

Airbus and Holywell up for the cup with silverware at stake
The Wingmakers have home advantage as they tackle fellow Cymru North high-flyers Holywell Town in the final of the North East Wales FA Challenge Cup. Since just missing out on the league title, Mark Allen's side have gone on to win the Cymru North Cup and Cymru Cup over recent weeks. Airbus booked their spot in the final with a thrilling penalty shootout success versus Corwen in the last-four and Allen told the club's website: 'Last time out I was very pleased with those involved in the second half and the way they kept going in the game and got us back into it.' It has been a mixed campaign for Holywell, whose defence of their Cymru North title saw them conclude the season in third position. Boss Johnny Haseldin said: 'We have experienced the highs and lows as well, and we know which side we want to be on the end of on Saturday.' A feast of football is in store over the course of the weekend with a number of other North East Wales FA finals lined up. It all begins this evening with Rhostyllen meeting FC Queen's Park in the Horace Wynne Cup final.

Airbus to tackle Corwen in big cup semi-final clash
The likes of Danny Warren and George Peers have taken much of the plaudits for the Wingmakers this season, but it was Nathan Williams (pictured above) who grabbed the decisive goal as Airbus beat Trefelin 3-2 to lift the Cymru Cup. This followed Airbus winning the Cymru North Cup and also in their sights is the North East Wales FA Cup, with the Wingmakers heading to The Globe, in Buckley, for tonight's semi-final with Ardal League Corwen. Boss Allen told the club's YouTube channel: 'For Nathan to score, you know, he's come in this season from Gresford and been fantastic for us. Particularly as a defender, obviously, but he's grabbed some important goals for us as well. So, I'm delighted for him.' Corwen go into the game on a back of a stunning 6-0 win at Pwllheli where Pat Hinchcliffe hit a hat-trick and top scorer Sam Henry bagged his 20th goal of the season. Tonight's winners will take on Holywell Town in the final. Barring two bizarre results, The New Saints will be crowned champions in the FAW Reserves North East League. They head to Airbus tonight level on points with Flint Mountain but with a far superior goal difference. Llay Welfare host Prestatyn Town while Mold Alex will finish bottom after losing 4-3 at home to Ruthin Town. Joseph Delaney (2) and Zac Barnes were Mold's scorers while it finished 2-2 between Buckley Town and Holywell Town, who had goalkeeper Kieron Feenan sent off. Evan Lowry scored both for Buckley with Zak Dakin and Josh Acott replying. There are two games in the North East Wales Championship with fourth-placed Acton at home to Rhydymwyn, the team above them. Holywell United sign off at home to Cefn Druids while in Group B of the Reserves Division, Greenfield will go top with a win at Penyffordd Lions.
