Owensboro City Commission agenda, May 20, 2025
At its meeting 4 p.m. Tuesday at City Hall, the Owensboro City Commission will consider the following:
• Recognize retiring Bus Driver Shellene Davie.
• Proclaim Older Americans Month.
• Proclaim Emergency Medical Services Week
• Receive an Occupational Tax overview from Dana Coomes, Occupational Tax Administrator.
• Receive a presentation on fire department water rescue response and capabilities and training from Battalion Chief Jason Pickrell and and Lt. Johnston, Owensboro Fire Department.
• Review city projects list.
• Consider board appointments.
• Consider approving an ordinance changing Taylor Avenue to Kamuf Way.
• Consider approving an ordinance repealing Ordinance 2-2019 and adopting the Daviess Fiscal Court countywide animal control ordinance.
• Hold first reading of an ordinance for the fiscal year 2025-26 city budget.
• Hold first reading of an ordinance establishing the compensation for city employees and non-elected city officers.
• Hold first reading of an ordinance amending the 2024-25 city budget to include $600,000 to purchase property (Colonel House Motel); to appropriate $400,000 for cold food storage; for construction of bus shelters; to provide a $375,00 incentive payment to TS Enterprises; and to transfer $462,000 to the Debt Service Fund.
• Consider approving a municipal order adopting the 2025-29 city consolidated plan and the 2025-26 action plan for Community Development Block Grant, and Home Investment Partnership Funds.
• Consider new hires and promotions.
• Go into closed session to discuss future property acquisition or sale of property under KRS 61.810(1)(b).
