I am happy as speaker, says Tawadkar on cabinet buzz
Margao: Speaker Ramesh Tawadkar on Friday said he has so far done justice to the office he holds. He said he was content with it and that inducting him into the cabinet or otherwise was for the chief minister and party brass to decide. 'I made the best use of the speaker's post… minister or no minister, it makes no difference to me. I have enough potential to work for the welfare of society,' he said. Tawadkar dismissed suggestions that differences between him and minister Govind Gaude caused a rift in the tribal community. 'There are differences in every community,' he said. The Canacona MLA said he dissociated himself from the United Tribals Associations' Alliance (UTAA), of which Gaude is a key functionary, after the infamous violent 2011 agitation at Balli. After the 2012 assembly polls, he became a part of govt. 'They wanted to go the path of confrontations and agitations, while I, as tribal welfare minister, couldn't agree to it, and we parted ways,' Tawadkar said, adding that he hasn't been an active member of any tribal organisation since. Tawadkar further said he hasn't encountered any problem dealing with the tribal welfare department so far. His remarks came in the backdrop of speculations that a reshuffle of the cabinet was on the cards and that Gaude could be dropped to make way for Tawadkar. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Shubh Aarambh with Honda Shine 125! Coke's plan is to have an endless summer
Representative image (Picture credit: AP) MUMBAI: Coca-Cola is pivoting towards an "all-weather" strategy to get consumers to spend on soft drinks beyond summers - the peak sales season for beverage firms worldwide as companies increasingly contend with the scourge of climate change and vagaries of weather. "An all-weather mindset is very important. It reduces dependence on seasonality," said Henrique Braun, global chief operating officer and executive VP at The Coca-Cola Company. Implementing an all-weather strategy in India would mean creating more occasions to consume beverages. Coca-Cola is betting big on festivals to drive more consumption of cold beverages in India. "India is a developing market... there are too many occasions that we need to develop in order for the seasonality to be lower. It takes time, but that's the game in the long term," Braun said in a media roundtable on Thursday, indicating that the early arrival of monsoons in India this year may impact summer sales. "You might have an impact on a daily basis, weekly basis, but you need to overcome these over time, and that's what the (all-weather) strategy is," Braun said. The monsoon hit Kerala on May 24, eight days ahead of its normal arrival date on June 1, the earliest onset since 2009. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Kickstart your new journey with the Honda Shine 125 Honda Learn More Undo Rains have also advanced to other parts of the country, impacting sales of soft drinks, cold beverages, and ice creams. Braun's trip to India, the second executive visit from Coca-Cola's global leadership team this year after CFO John Murphy, comes at a time when the local beverage space has become more competitive after Reliance's Campa entered the market with its cheaper-priced cola variants. "The barrier to entry is not that big, but the barrier to stay and scale is very high," said Braun, who discussed growth opportunities with the India team and studied the trends shaping up in the market during his visit. Coca-Cola, which continues to see "resilient" demand in India despite a broader slowdown in consumption over the past few quarters, will offer a wide selection of choices to consumers and build a varied portfolio across pack sizes amid a push towards healthier options among certain sections of the population. "More than two-thirds of our products globally have zero-calorie offerings from the same brands. There's always a product for a consumer need state in a size and serving that they want and the formulations that they can enjoy with the best taste. That's our approach. Our job is to continue to provide the right portfolio and let choice be the driver," Braun said. Coca-Cola said it wants to build more billion-dollar brands out of India. Over the years, it has built two homegrown brands, Maaza and Thums Up (which were acquired by the company in the 1990s), into billion-dollar brands and took them global. Sprite (not local) is the other one to have reached that mark in India. Stay informed with the latest business news, updates on bank holidays and public holidays . AI Masterclass for Students. Battling waves and time, Dilna & Roopa 1st Indian duo to sail into record books
Panaji: At 5.22pm on Thursday, as Lt Cdrs Dilna K and Roopa Alagirisamy stepped on the Indian soil after a 239-day historic voyage, they became the first-ever Indian duo to sail across the planet. 'Yes. We made it.' These four words from Dilna summed up the poignant and emotional 25,400-nautical-mile journey that began on October 2 from the banks of the Mandovi. 'We saw the ocean and waves rising in anger some days. The waves were as high as 20-feet-tall, looking like a wall. But we also had days when the sea was as calm as a mirror, and the sea felt heavenly, and time felt meaningless,' said Roopa, narrating their audacious endeavour to fly the Tricolour and naval ensign 'in every sea and land across the world'. 'With this journey, we joined a special group of people who went around the planet, and we haven't come across another two women who have done a double-handed circumnavigation. Halfway around the world, the sea humbled us and made us students again. This journey showed the entire world what Indian women are made of,' said Dilna. The circumnavigation took them through four oceans, crossing the equator twice and rounding the three great capes — a route acknowledged globally as the gold standard in ocean sailing. Honda Learn More Undo The mission was part of the Navy's broader initiative to showcase women's role in maritime operations. It also aimed to inspire a new generation of women to embrace adventure and take to the seas — a domain long dominated by men. 'I feel I lived all my seven lives in these eight months. This is not going to be my last journey, I am sorry,' said Roopa with a laugh, as she addressed her family. The voyage tested not just mental endurance but seamanship too. The naval officers navigated some of the world's most treacherous waters, including the South Pacific and the Southern Ocean. They battled towering waves, gale-force winds, and long spells of isolation with only each other for company and their 56-foot yacht as their shelter. During the circumnavigation, the duo suffered a complete navigation blackout in the middle of the night in the Pacific Ocean. 'We lost GPS, boat heading, wind instrument, auto-pilot —everything. It took us three hours, but it felt like an eternity to get back the systems. This actually gave us a false sense of security in modern equipment,' said Roopa. The duo covered 25,400 nautical miles over a period of eight months with port calls at Fremantle (Australia), Lyttleton (New Zealand), Port Stanley (Falkland Islands), and Cape Town (South Africa). Commander Abhilash Tomy (retd), the first Indian to sail around the Earth non-stop, provided mentorship to the duo. His survival and maintenance experience helped the duo master the critical skill of dual-handed sailing. Captain Vipul Mehershi, Captain Atul Sinha, and Commander Nikhil Hegde also played a key role in preparing the women officers and the vessel for the expedition. The two naval officers' triumphant return at Mormugao Port was witnessed by defence minister Rajnath Singh and chief of naval staff Admiral Dinesh K Tripathi.

The Sagittarius Full Moon Ritual: Release. Reset. Radiate.
The Full Moon on June 11th, 2025, lands in Sagittarius, the zodiac's wild-child philosopher. That means it's the perfect time to burn away what's weighing you down—like those mental group chats with old fears and limiting beliefs that never RSVP'd to growth. Here's a power-packed ritual that doesn't involve chanting in Latin or summoning ancient spirits—unless the mood strikes. What You'll Need: A white candle (for clarity) A journal (or any paper that hasn't been emotionally traumatized) A bowl of water (symbolic, not for drinking) Sage, palo santo, or incense (optional but dramatic) Moonlight (no filters, please) Step 1: Cleanse the Space (and the Attitude) Light your sage or incense. Walk around the room like a spiritual detective, clearing out energy crime scenes. Think of it as feng shui with a bit of flair. Say a little intention, something like: 'Only good vibes and higher truths are allowed here.' Step 2: Write the Drama Out In your journal, write down everything that's ready to go. Toxic patterns, mental clutter, that one "situationship" that's been clinging like glitter—list it all. The messier the handwriting, the better the purge. Step 3: Speak and Burn Read what you wrote out loud. Really channel a monologue-level performance. Then, safely burn the paper in a fire-safe dish or bowl. Dramatic exits aren't just for soap operas—they work for baggage too. Step 4: Full Moon Bath or Soak Not into taking an actual bath? No problem. Just place your hands in the bowl of water and imagine it absorbing all that junk energy. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Kickstart your new journey with the Honda Shine 125 Honda Learn More Undo Think of it as an emotional detox soak. Bonus points if the moonlight hits the water. Step 5: Set Fire to the Future (Figuratively) Light your white candle. Declare three things you're calling into your life—maybe it's peace, clarity, or wonderfully soft skin, whatever you desire. Hold those thoughts like a close-up moment in a film and let the candle flame absorb them. Ritual Wrap-Up: Thank the moon. Blow it a kiss. Say goodbye to the old storyline and get ready to rewrite it in bold, shiny new fonts. This Sagittarius moon isn't here for small talk—it's here for truth bombs and powerful rebirths.
