Seven's Stranded on Honeymoon Island gets bumped to later time slot amid dire ratings - as cast member goes rogue and reveals major spoiler

Seven's Stranded on Honeymoon Island only made its debut this week. But the dating show is in all sorts of trouble as it faces dire ratings - while a cast member has taken to social media to reveal a major spoiler. Matched with 29-year-old executive Emily, business analyst Tom Brown, 30, appears to have wasted no time moving on after the show completed filming in 2023. Posting to his Instagram, Tom has shared steady updates on his new relationship with fiancée Morgan Mitchell, who competed on this year's Australian Survivor. He's even shared the news that he's fathered twins - Honey and Maya with Morgan last month, after the couple were engaged in July 2024. From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the DailyMail's new showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop. Tom's decision to share relationship details is considered a no-no in reality TV world, especially while a show is on air with storylines yet to play out. His posts have included pictures of himself holding one of his newborn twins, while Morgan holds her sister and takes a selfie. Another photo shows the couple posing with a 'twin pram'. Meanwhile, Stranded on Honeymoon Island has been bumped to a later time slot after its underwhelming debut on Monday. This means Seven's hopes of replicating the success of Nine's Married at First Sight with its own raunchy dating series are sinking fast. The show managed an average of 539,000 viewers nationally with its premiere episode, but by Tuesday fans had already deserted the romantic castaways by the thousands. Only 376,000 fans tuned for the second two-hour episode. Now, TV Tonight reports that Seven has moved the show from its prized 7.30 pm slot to 8.30 pm next Monday - but will screen Tuesday's episode at 7.30 pm. The industry blog also states that episodes planned for July 7 and July 8 remain scheduled for 7.30 pm. A combination of MAFS and Survivor, the long-awaited show follows 12 unlucky-in-love singles who are stranded on a remote island with no hope of escape for 21 days. Narrated by high-profile radio host Jackie 'O' Henderson, the format is based on a hit Danish concept and adapted locally by Endemol Shine Australia. It comes after Stranded On Honeymoon Island's Amy Dickinson has opened up about her wild ride on Seven's new reality dating experiment. Speaking to Daily Mail Australia on Tuesday, Amy, 30, revealed that she was left 'petrified' after being matched with motorsport presenter Mike, 37, and knew almost immediately that their honeymoon was going to be anything but blissful. 'I called it Nightmare Island immediately,' she admitted. 'As soon as I got to the island, I kind of realised what I'd got myself into… I had a little panic attack.' Despite feeling an instant spark with another contestant during the chaotic two-minute speed dating round, Amy was blindsided when she was paired with Mike - and the red flags started waving before they even reached their bamboo hut. 'In his vows, he made a comment about hoping his future wife could make a better sandwich than his mum,' she revealed. 'He claimed he wrote it when he was seven, but that was obviously a lie. I don't like liars – and I definitely don't like misogynists.' The influencer, who joined the show hoping the experts would have better taste in men than she does, said she's had her fair share of toxic relationships. When asked what viewers can expect from the series, Amy teased: 'Drama. Tears. Chaos. It's so raw.' 'It's like MAFS on steroids. With MAFS, you kinda know what to expect now - cheating scandals, wine throwing - it's textbook.

Channel 7's new show ‘Stranded on Honeymoon Island' drops after premiere

It appears the cycle of new Australian reality shows failing to resonate with viewers is continuing. Channel 7's 'radical' series Stranded on Honeymoon Island, which is narrated by radio queen Jackie 'O' Henderson, finally made it to screens Monday night. It had mega competition, going up against the finale of Nine's behemoth Lego Masters Australia, the latter of which pulled an average of 850,000 viewers nationally. Still, Stranded managed to lure an average of 539,000 viewers for its debut, placing it third in the prime time slot behind Lego Masters and Ten's MasterChef. But things dropped drastically come Tuesday night, with the reality show drawing an average of just 376,000 viewers, while Nine's newly-launched Australia's Most Identical pulled in an average of 731,000. Seven bosses are no doubt hitting the drawing board to find a new prime time contender, with Stranded very likely on the chopping block before it's even finished airing its first season. After a lengthy delay – the show was first announced at Seven's Upfronts in October 2023, while a trailer dropped in May 2024 – Stranded finally made it to air Monday. The premise follows 12 wannabe participants who're paired together following a round of rapid speed dates, later exchanging vows with the person producers felt they had the most chemistry with during the two-minute dates. The newlyweds are then shipped to a remote island, forced to dive into the ocean in their bride and groom outfits and swim to shore, where they embark on their 'honeymoon' in the great outdoors with no phones, no changes of clothing and no creature comforts. Negative viewer reaction was swift. 'Same s***. Different show,' one wrote. 'This island show is crap,' another deadpanned. 'Cheap version of MAFS,' a third pointed out. 'Watched 20 mins of this crap even the Mrs didn't like it and that's saying something,' a fourth said. 'OMG is there nothing else that can be aired on prime time TV.'

Channel 7's ‘radical' reality TV gamble finally makes it to air

If Married At First Sight and Survivor had a baby, you'd get Seven's latest TV show. The network is seeking to break a disaster run of failing Aussie reality shows with its 'radical' series Stranded on Honeymoon Island, which is narrated by radio queen Jackie 'O' Henderson. After a lengthy delay (the show was first announced at Seven's Upfronts in October 2023, while a trailer dropped in May 2024), Stranded finally made it to air Monday night, and it's prompted one question among viewers: 'What did I just watch?' Six wannabe participants are paired together following a round of rapid speed dates, later exchanging vows with the person producers felt they had the most chemistry with during the two-minute dates. That's when the Survivor element comes into play – the newlyweds are then shipped to a remote island, forced to dive into the ocean in their bride and groom outfits and swim to shore, where they embark on their 'honeymoon' in the great outdoors with no phones, no changes of clothing and no creature comforts. And we may only be one episode in, but one couple has already begun to implode. Dating influencer Amy, 30, fast emerges of the firecracker of the season, introducing herself as a confident go-getter who rarely gets nervous. With one exception. 'If I'm doing stand-up comedy, I take a lot of nervous shits,' she tells us. Amy takes a liking to Haydn, 29, on their speed date, but is ultimately paired with someone very different: TV presenter Mike, 37. Mike misreads the room during their vows, thinking they've hit it off sensationally despite Amy's obvious disdain. Once the pair arrive on the island, things rapidly go downhill as their dominant personalities clash. 'To be honest, there's been a lot of things that you've done that have made me uncomfortable,' Amy tells Mike. 'I've felt an underlying misogyny from you.' A flabbergasted Mike declares, 'I've never heard that from anyone before', to which Amy replies, 'I think there's a clear vibe that I'm not feeling it. I'm not romantically feeling it. I don't even think we're there as friends yet.' Mike later huffs in to camera, 'That was harsh.' What was also harsh was viewer reaction on social media.

EXCLUSIVE TikTok star Amy Dickinson reveals the harsh reality of being cast on Stranded On Honeymoon Island

She was hoping for romance, but what she got was a one-way ticket to Nightmare Island. Stranded On Honeymoon Island's Amy Dickinson has opened up about her wild ride on Channel Seven 's new reality dating experiment. 'As soon as I got to the island I kind of realised what I'd got myself into… I had a little panic attack.' Despite feeling an instant spark with another contestant during the chaotic two-minute speed dating round, Amy was blindsided when she was paired with Mike - and the red flags started waving before they even reached their bamboo hut. 'In his vows, he made a comment about hoping his future wife could make a better sandwich than his mum,' she revealed. 'He claimed he wrote it when he was seven, but that was obviously a lie. I don't like liars – and I definitely don't like misogynists.' But it was a surprise video message from Mike's ex that truly sealed the deal. 'She said he needed to learn to listen and not just talk - which was exactly what I experienced,' Amy said. 'Honestly, I think she's a legend. I'd grab a cocktail with her any day.' The influencer, who joined the show hoping the experts would have better taste in men than she does, said she's had her fair share of toxic relationships. 'I've dated pathological liars, narcissists - the works,' she laughed. 'So I figured the experts probably couldn't do worse.' Still, she tried to give the experience a fair go. 'You're stuck together - there's no escape,' she said. 'You have to solve problems and survive together. It's totally unconventional, but you kind of bond over the chaos.' And surprisingly, going 21 days without her phone wasn't the biggest challenge. 'I didn't even miss it - which is crazy for me to say,' she confessed. 'There were so many other distractions. Being stranded with someone you're not vibing with is way harder.' So did Mike go on the show for love, or just for airtime? 'I think he probably had multiple motives,' she said. 'Honestly, most of us did.' When asked what viewers can expect from the series, Amy teased: 'Drama. Tears. Chaos. It's so raw.' 'It's like MAFS on steroids. With MAFS, you kinda know what to expect now - cheating scandals, wine throwing - it's textbook. 'But with Stranded, no one knew what was coming next. Not even us.'

Stranded On Honeymoon Island finally gets a premiere date after months of delays and behind-the-scenes drama

After months of uncertainty and frustration, Channel Seven has finally confirmed the air date for its long-awaited reality series Stranded On Honeymoon Island. Billed as a bold new twist on the romance genre, the series follows six singles who meet, marry and are immediately thrust into a survival-style challenge - stranded on a remote island with no phones, no outside contact, and no escape for 21 days. Among the first couples to be introduced are Amy Dickinson and her 'groom' Mike, who tie the knot upon meeting for the first time and are then dropped into isolation, armed only with their personalities and hopes for love. 'I want to see if I can find my happy ever after,' Amy confesses, after years of failed romances. Meanwhile, Mike says he's ready to be 'respected, loved and adored' as he takes a final leap of faith. From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the DailyMail's new showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop. But sparks may fly for all the wrong reasons. The pair's strong personalities clash from the outset, with Amy unwilling to follow and Mike used to leading - leaving viewers to wonder whether this will be a honeymoon or a nightmare. Narrated by high-profile radio host Jackie 'O' Henderson, the format is based on a hit Danish concept and adapted locally by Endemol Shine Australia. The series has already been plagued by controversy behind the scenes, with the series' rollout delayed for more than six months. Originally slated to air in late 2024, the show was quietly shelved by Seven, leaving cast members in the dark about its future. As previously reported by Daily Mail Australia, contestants were furious over the prolonged silence from the network, with one anonymous bride revealing: 'We've had enough. We've all put our lives on hold for this, and now we're just sitting here waiting for a decision.' 'Some of us have moved on and started new relationships – one of the guys even proposed to his girlfriend in real life!' she continued, adding that it felt 'insulting' to still be under contract without clarity. 'We were told to keep quiet, no relationships, no social media posts. We're basically living like prisoners, while Seven plays games with us.' Others echoed similar frustrations, claiming they were led to believe the show would fast-track their careers as influencers, only to return to regular jobs after months of limbo. 'It's just been a rollercoaster of uncertainty,' one insider shared. 'They told us one thing, then pushed the show back again and again. Nobody even knows when the series will air, and the cast hasn't been told a thing. All we've been given is silence and broken promises.' At one point, there were even calls from within the cast for the series to be axed entirely. 'I couldn't care less if it gets cancelled,' the anonymous bride said. 'Either they air it or they don't. I'm over it.' Insiders say the network was hopeful the show could rival Married At First Sight and The Block in ratings, even splashing out big money to secure Jackie O in hopes of pulling viewers. Whether Stranded On Honeymoon Island can overcome its bumpy beginnings and live up to its hype remains to be seen. But one thing's for sure – this is no ordinary honeymoon. Stranded On Honeymoon Island premieres June on Channel Seven and 7plus.
