Two Hoopeston teens arrested, facing drug, battery charges

HOOPESTON, Ill. (WCIA) — Two 19-year-olds were arrested in Hoopeston over the weekend for drug and aggravated battery charges. According to the Hoopeston Police Department, officers responded to the area of West Lincoln Street and South 4th Avenue just before 3 p.m. on Saturday. 19-year-old dead, two juveniles injured after shooting in Danville When officers arrived, they arrested one of the 19-year-olds for resisting and obstructing, aggravated assault to police, and aggravated battery to police. The other teenager was arrested for possession of cannabis between 100-500 grams, and possession with the intent to deliver. Both were taken to the Hoopeston Police Station for processing. HOOPESTON, Ill. (WCIA) — Three male juveniles were arrested by Hoopeston Police after a Snapchat video showed them holding a boy at gunpoint. On April 15, the Hoopeston Police Department was contacted about the video, which was posted on Snapchat. The video showed a male juvenile being held at gunpoint and being told to take articles of clothing off while simultaneously being told to repeat 'degrading remarks.' Springfield Police, Crime Stoppers looking for restaurant burglar Additionally, there was another male juvenile sitting next to the victim as well as a second male that recorded a portion of the incident. Ultimately, three male juveniles were arrested for unlawful restraint, aggravated assault and mob action charges. As of now, the 11-year-old suspect has been released from Hoopeston Police Department custody and the two 14-year-old suspects have been transported to the Vermilion County Juvenile Detention Center.
