Amitabh Bachchan Reacts To Contestants Missing Their Chance On KBC: ‘Emotionally Shattering'
Amitabh Bachchan said that it is emotionally tough to see some of the Fastest Finger First contestants on Kaun Banega Crorepati leave empty-handed after waiting for a week. Amitabh Bachchan regularly shares daily updates with his fans through posts on his personal blog. The Bollywood megastar, who is currently hosting Kaun Banega Crorepati (KBC) season 17, recently shared how it is emotionally tough to see some of the Fastest Finger First contestants leave empty-handed after a week of hoping to secure a spot on the hot seat. He said that it is hard to control the frustration of defeat and lost opportunity- not just for the contestants, but for him as well. He said that watching the contestants leave without getting a chance to play affects him too, and is 'deeply shattering'. In his recent blog post, Big B wrote, 'we sit on the hot seat and meet and confront the contestants that have ambitious hopes of winning during the week of their stay on the floor ..and when they cannot make it , it's the hardest to control the frustration of defeat and lost opportunity .. for them yes , but for me as well ..it is emotionally shattering to their tears swell up as they find the week over , the Hooter played and the need to come and play , for whatever personal reasons , goes missing .." He further added that no amount of consolation seem enough in those moments. ' no amount of consolation at the time can give them solace and understanding .. the need for some is crucial , the opportunity for some who have sacrificed their study or job opportunities to be at the FF and then the main chair to play and WIN, lost ..difficult to face such moments ..but what can be done .. a smile of 'try again' .. a word of encouragement that all shall be fine .. loss is not the end of life .. its a learning and adheres to : मन का हो तो अच्छा; ना हो तो ज़्यादा अच्छा." Amitabh Bachchan further continued, 'but as they say the show goes on ..you come away thinking of not the winner and his expertise and knowledge , but the one that tried and lost ..life is a tough job .." Kaun Banega Crorepati returned with season 17 a few days ago. Amitabh Bachchan will be seen welcoming Colonel Sofiya Qureshi of the Indian Army, Wing Commander Vyomika Singh of the Indian Air Force and Commander Prerna Deosthalee of the Indian Navy, during the Independence Day special episode of KBC, which is set to air on August 15. Best place to eat at Masters? Players say locker room, caddie hut. Hooter's got a mention
Best place to eat at Masters? Players say locker room, caddie hut. Hooter's got a mention This is part of the Golfweek Masters Survey 2025 series 'Nobody goes out anymore; it's too crowded' is a classic Yogi Berra line but it could also be used to describe the thinking of Masters competitors looking for a place to eat at around Augusta National. One of the findings of conducting the annual Golfweek Masters Survey is that the majority of competitors hire their own chef to cater meals so they don't have to fight traffic or wait for a table after a long day at the course. It used to be you could go to T-Bonz and see Fred Couples in one corner and Ernie Els in another. While John Daly still sets up shop at the local Hooters on Washington Road, it's becoming more of a rarity to see players out at Augusta's many fine dining establishments. That was the question for this survey: Where's your favorite place to eat in Augusta? Here are some of the answers of those who still like to frequent some of the local fare. Adam Hadwin My wife and I go to the Bonefish Grill quite a bit. We don't see too many of those anymore. Adam Scott It's hard not to say the Champions Locker Room. I do like the Grill Room. It has a nice view of the course, which you don't get in the Champions Room. Akshay Bhatia We ate at Carrabba's (Italian Grille) every night. Gary Woodland The locker room. The burger is delicious and I love the soup. Just the history in there and sitting there and looking out is pretty special. I'd like to eat in the Champions Locker Room. That's the next goal. Jason Day The caddie hut. I never go eat in the locker room. I always hang out and eat in the caddie hut. Justin Thomas My rental house. We get a chef. Keegan Bradley The clubhouse. I got to eat dinner there once with a couple members and it was spectacular. Kevin Kisner Beck's. Matt Fitzpatrick The players lounge. Russell Henley Frog Hollow. That place is good. Webb Simpson Locker room looking out to No. 1. Wyndham Clark I didn't eat many places but I did eat at the famous Hooters. Xander Schauffele I've been fortunate to have my brother come cook for me. I enjoy his home-cooked meals. Zach Johnson I typically have somebody cook for us just because it makes the week so much easier. But sometimes you go early and on those occasions, I love Abel Brown's, an oyster, steak joint with a pretty good bourbon menu and it's right there in that French Market area.

The Big Dance is almost here. Will any of Philly's Big 5 be in it?
Say a prayer to the late great Temple University basketball head coach John Chaney. We're gonna need it. Why it matters: It's looking like a long shot any Philly-area teams make the NCAA Tournament this year. We know, we know. Officially, we gotta wait for Selection Sunday. But here's the rundown for Philly's Big 5: Villanova It's double-bubble toil and trouble for 'Nova's men's team. The Wildcats lost to the Huskies 73-56 in Thursday's Big East Tournament quarterfinals. The Wildcats are projected as one of the final eight teams (the double-bubble, as they say) out of this year's tourney, per ESPN. It'd mark their third year in a row missing the Big Dance. The Villanova women's (18-14 overall) lost to powerhouse UConn in the semifinals of the Big East Tournament. 😢 The Wildcats aren't on ESPN's radar. Temple The Owls' chances of making the tourney are looking grim after they lost to Tulsa on Thursday in the American Athletic Conference tourney. Temple hasn't been to the Big Dance since since 2019. Temple women's team lost to Rice for the second straight year in the AAC semifinals. The Owls were 20-11 overall, but they're not a bubble team, per ESPN. The bottom line: Lookin' like another fowl season for Hooter and co. Drexel Drexel's men are done after they were bounced in the quarterfinals of the Colonial Athletic Association tourney. Meanwhile, Drexel women are still alive, squaring off against Monmouth Friday at 2:30pm. They were our only hope last year. Will history repeat itself? University of Pennsylvania Here's all you need to know about the men's team: Their head coach was handed walking papers after nine seasons following his team's season-ending loss to Princeton. The Quakers won only eight games and missed the Ivy League tourney for the second year. The women's team faces top-seeded Columbia in the semifinals of the Ivy League tourney at 4:30pm Friday. Columbia won both regular-season matchups. St. Joseph's University Sixth-seeded St. Joe's men's team hasn't won the Atlantic 10 tourney since 2016, it's looking to change that after defeating La Salle 75-70 on Thursday. Up next: Dayton on Friday at 7:30pm. No. 6 seeds have fared well in the A-10, winning three of the last five tourneys. The women lost out on an automatic bid after dropping the A-10 title game to George Mason. La Salle University As for the La Salle men: After that loss to the Hawks, cue Steph Curry's "night, night." Ditto for the women after losing last week to Dayton.
