Valerie Bertinelli, 65, is 'a size 2 or less' in unfiltered bikini photos to show angry ex what he's missing
Valerie Bertinelli shocked fans by posing in her scarlet red bikini for a collection of unfiltered photos posted to Instagram on Wednesday. The 65-year-old Drew Barrymore Show star looked radiant in the tiny two piece which revealed a slender frame. Fans were quick to compliment the former wife of rock star Eddie Van Halen. 'You look like a size 2 or less,' said one as another added, 'You are beautiful.' 'Love your attitude & confidence!!' said an enthusiastic admirer. Then there was this: 'You look fabulous. Always did and always will.' Valerie did not address her trim shape but rather talked about doing a cold plunge. 'My pool is 66°,' began the brunette beauty. 'Now, for a cold plunge that's relatively warm. (that's what they say whoever they are) but along with everything else I've been experimenting with, this has helped improve my mood, has reduced inflammation and it's easier than filling my bath up with ice cubes.' Pal Tiffani Thiessen of Saved By The Bell fame added, 'You go girl. Come @plunge with me at my place. Always better to do with others.' Followers were thrilled to see the TV veteran so happy after she had to endure a particularly nasty breakup with her New York writer beau Mike Goodnough. This follows on the heels of Bertinelli sharing a flashback lingerie image to Instagram a week ago. The Hot In Cleveland actress was in a black bra with matching underwear as she flashed her tummy. She impressively had abs and a small waistline. The influencer star also showed off her toned arms while she went makeup free with her dark hair down over her shoulders. It was a bathroom selfie taken in a New York City hotel in December as she held onto a hair of box hair dye before darkening her roots. She was celebrating becoming a senior citizen. 'April 23, 1960, 8:00p Wilmington, Delaware, Taurus sun, Aries moon, Scorpio rising,' she began her caption. 'Went through it all in the last handful of years and I'm so grateful for the downs as much as I am for all of the ups I am blessed to experience. The light at the end of the tunnel is finally here. I can see it. I feel it.' She added: 'I love my family. I love my friends. I love all of you out there supporting me and being a part of our community here. I am one lucky and grateful mofo. XOXO ♥️.' When she first shared the lingerie photo in December her caption had her usual brave candor and easygoing sense of humor. 'At some point I will talk about the madness my body has been through this year,' she wrote to her followers. 'But right now every lump, bump, wrinkle and saggy part of me just feels acceptance and simple appreciation to be standing in front of a mirror in a hotel bathroom in downtown Manhattan ready to color my roots late on a Monday night.' Bertinelli has been busy these days. She is working with friend Drew Barrymore on her talk show in NYC. Valerie is also getting over her split from lifestyle writer Goodnough, 53. They broke up in early November after 10 months of dating. He is 10 years younger than Valerie. Goodnough once again spoke out about their past relationship—just days after deleting an Instagram post in which he criticized the actress for publicly discussing their breakup. Although their relationship ended months ago, Goodnough has continued to comment on it via social media. Earlier this month, he posted on Instagram to say he wasn't engaging in a 'war of words' with his ex, though he also accused her of making 'hostile, dishonest, and uncalled-for backhanded swipes.' He later deleted the post and replaced it with a new message reflecting on the breakup, writing that he has 'cried about it enough' and is trying to move on. On Sunday, Goodnough addressed the topic again— this time on Threads —responding to a commenter who suggested Bertinelli had ended things. 'I ended the relationship,' he wrote, adding, 'You tried though. You really tried.' The comment comes after Goodnough appeared to make a subtle dig at Bertinelli in his April Instagram rant, writing, 'Unfortunately, over the past two months, Valerie has been prone to lapsing into a place where she has been playing a one-woman tennis match thinking there is someone on the other side of the net.' He went on to accuse her of misinterpreting his words, adding, 'When in that place, she reads all of my posts, centers herself in them, takes offense over wholly imagined slights, and then lashes out angrily with a 'response' to things that were neither to her or about her.' The result, he claimed, was a false narrative of an ongoing feud. 'Among people who follow us both, that behavior has created the impression that we are going back-and-forth. We are not.' Despite the pointed remarks, Goodnough insisted he still cares for Bertinelli. Reflecting on their past, he shared a bittersweet memory. 'Exactly one year ago, Valerie and I were together for the launch of her book. It was one of the most joyful weeks of my life. In April 2024 she Bertinelli said she 'can't just blame' her ex-husband Tom Vitale for their 'toxic, horrible marriage'. The actress acknowledges that Vitale wasn't entirely responsible for their failed marriage. During an appearance on The Drew Barrymore Show, Valerie explained: 'I can't just blame my ex-husband for a toxic, horrible marriage. It's not his fault. 'What led me to that? Oh, childhood! That's the stuff I got to start working on. 'I've found that when my gratitude is really placed in even the challenging, hard times, that's when the growth really happens.' Valerie explained that she's still working through her own childhood trauma. The actress acknowledges that her troubled past continues to influence her life.

Valerie Bertinelli, 65, shares lingerie selfie to celebrate becoming a senior citizen... after nasty split
Valerie Bertinelli made a very rare move of sharing a flashback lingerie image to Instagram on Wednesday. Valerie Bertinelli admits she ‘fumbled' relationship with ex-boyfriend as she opens up on shame
Valerie Bertinelli is reflecting on her past mistakes. On Monday, the former Food Network star — who called it quits with ex-boyfriend Mike Goodnough in November after ten months of dating — took to Instagram to share her thoughts on what she thinks makes a relationship work. "When you feel hurt and wronged and know you deserve an apology but are being stonewalled by your partner because they're feeling shame, maybe this can shift your thinking," she began her lengthy post. "How are you bringing it up? Are you only pointing out what they're doing wrong, being hypercritical, and expecting them to just fix it? That could be making things worse. Change, real change, never happens through criticism, shame, or pressure. They most likely already feel all that. (I know when I f--- up, oof, do I feel shame)." "When feeling attacked, a natural reaction is to shut down and get defensive and feel overwhelmed about changing behavior that may be a coping mechanism since childhood,"she continued. "They'll feel judged and feel like they can't get anything right and they won't really hear you." "If you stop focusing on what they did wrong and instead approach with empathy and understanding, everything can then start to shift," she added. "Instead of saying, 'You always do this!' Maybe try, 'This is how I feel when this happens, can we figure this out together?' That one small change can make a difference." Bertinelli reminded her followers that it's important to work with your partner, not against them. "And hello, I'm not saying this is easy when you've been hurt and you want to lash out in anger (which is fear and/or grief and probably some of your own hidden childhood triggers). BUT, doing it differently may give you a better chance at getting the apology and amends that you deserve," she wrote. "Looking for ways to show up for each other is a love language and it takes two to do it," she continued. "Even when you feel wronged and think they should just know and do better. I think we all just want to do better and feel awful when we've hurt someone we love and shame prevents us from thinking clearly. Wouldn't it be nice to relieve the one you love from shame so they can truly give you the amends you're looking for?""Then again, what do I know?" she concluded. "I have two failed marriages and fumbled the last true good man I met. Maybe don't take advice from me." The reflective thoughts come three months after Bertinelli and Goodnough called it quits, per People. The "Hot In Cleveland" actress first revealed she was in a new relationship in March 2024. The two went public with their relationship on social media one month later, with Bertinelli posting a photo of them together, with the caption, "I'll drink what you think and I'm high from smokin' your jokes all damn night." "It's unlike any relationship that I've ever experienced with a man," she told USA Today in March, before explaining that she "wasn't expecting" to be in a relationship again after her divorce from Tom Vitale. "He was not on my radar. I was going to die with my six cats and my dog and be incredibly happy doing it. So this came out of left field, and I'm grateful it did. He's very special." Vitale and Bertinelli were married from 2011 to 2022, with the actress previously referencing their divorce as "wicked." Prior to her marriage to Vitale, the "One Day at a Time" actress was married to musician Eddie Van Halen from 1981 to 2007.
