Houchin Community Blood Bank offers beach towels to donors starting June 16
BAKERSFIELD, CALIF. (KGET) — Houchin Community Blood Bank is having a special promotion starting June 16 through June 21 in which they are giving beach towels to successful donors. The beach towel will feature 'Phil-botomy the Blood Drop' and is part of their 'Drop-in & Donate' promotion for summer. The donor must be 110 pounds, 16 years of age or older and must provide a photo ID to donate. To schedule an appointment, you can visit their website or call 661-323-4222. Walk-ins are welcome. Houchin Community Blood Drive exceeds turnout expectations
BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — More than 200 people came to Compassion Corner with their sleeves rolled up to save lives for the Houchin Community Blood Drive on Thursday. KGET 17 News teamed up with Houchin Community Blood Bank, Valley Strong and Adventist Health on May 15, for our 17th annual community-wide blood drive. The original goal for the blood bank was to get 100 pints of blood. The turnout ended up being double that number. Houchin Community Blood Bank to giveaway $2,500 Disney gift card for May blood drive Gina Lidgett, the marketing coordinator for Houchin Community Blood Bank, thanked everyone who came out to donate on Thursday. 'Every single donation is going to go to a life here in Kern County and save your friends, your family, your neighbors,' Lidgett said. BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — Girl Scout Troop 8009 is participating in a sweet fundraiser as part of an effort to save lives in Kern County. Houchin Community Blood Bank is calling on the community to help replenish critically low blood supplies following a series of Mass Transfusion Protocol activations in the past two weeks. State of Downtown Breakfast showcases 2025 construction projects, honors former DBA director, Art Heist founder Between Feb. 23 to March 1, all successful blood donors will get one free box of Girl Scout Cookies. A variety of flavors will be available for you to choose from. Members from troop 8009 will be present at select Houchin Donor Centers, in case you want to purchase more cookies and help support the troop. MTP's have recently depleted HCBB's blood supply.
