Foreign man arrested over alleged molestation of teen girl in Rawang
KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 6 — A foreign man who is suspected of molesting a teenage girl in Bukit Sentosa, Rawang recently has been arrested by the police yesterday. Hulu Selangor district police chief Supt Ibrahim Husin said the man was arrested after the police received a report from the victim around 3pm Sunday. 'The suspect, 21, was arrested by the Hulu Selangor district police headquarters criminal investigation division thanks to a public tip-off,' he said in a statement, adding that the suspect did not have any prior records and tested negative for drugs. The suspect has been remanded for three days from today till August 7 for further investigation under Section 15(a)(1) of the Sexual Offences Against Children Act 2017, he added. — Bernama

Bound body found near Hulu Selangor railway track
HULU SELANGOR: The body of a man with his hands and feet bound was found near a railway track in Sungai Serian, Kalumpang, earlier today. The discovery was made by a member of the public at approximately 10.30 am. Hulu Selangor Police chief Supt Ibrahim Husin stated that initial investigations suggest the body was likely dumped from the Kampung Sungai Serian bridge, which stands 11.15 metres high. 'Forensic findings show the victim's hands and feet were tied, and his head was wrapped in cloth secured with black and white adhesive tape,' he said in a statement. The forensic team estimated the man had been dead for over four days, as decomposition had already set in. No identification documents were recovered from the body. The remains have been sent to Sungai Buloh Hospital for a post-mortem. Authorities are treating the case as murder under Section 302 of the Penal Code. Decomposed body with hands, feet tied found near Hulu Selangor rail tracks
KUALA LUMPUR, July 31 — The body of a man with his hands and feet bound was discovered today near the Keretapi Tanah Melayu (KTM) railway tracks in Kampung Sungai Serian, Kalumpang, Berita Harian reported. The unidentified body, which was already decomposing, was found lying on its back at the scene, according to the Malay daily. Citing a source, Berita Harian said police received information about the discovery at around 10.30am. 'A team from the Hulu Selangor District Police Headquarters (IPD) was immediately dispatched to the location. 'A forensic team was also deployed to conduct investigations,' the source was quoted as saying. It is understood the body was in an advanced stage of decomposition, and efforts are ongoing to identify the victim, Berita Harian reported. Selangor Police Chief Datuk Shazeli Kahar confirmed the discovery when contacted. 'The Hulu Selangor District Police Chief will issue a media statement regarding the case,' he said, according to Berita Harian.

Police hunt machete-wielding duo after failed shop robbery in Hulu Selangor
KUALA LUMPUR, June 21 — Police are tracking down two individuals suspected of attempting an armed robbery at a shop in Hulu Selangor in the early hours of June 18. Hulu Selangor acting police chief DSP Mohd Asri Mohd Yunus said the suspects' actions were captured on closed-circuit television (CCTV), and the victim lodged a police report at 6.42am the same day. He said CCTV footage of the attempted robbery has since gone viral on social media. Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspects, dressed in black, wearing caps and face masks, and armed with machetes, tried to attack the victim using the weapon after allegedly entering the premises through the back door. 'The victim managed to scream for help, which caused the suspects to panic and flee the scene without taking anything,' he said in a statement yesterday. Mohd Asri said efforts were underway to track down the two suspects, believed to be local men, and the case is being investigated under Section 393 of the Penal Code for attempted robbery.
