PRSI & NMDC celebrate World Public Relations Day
Hyderabad Chapter of the Public Relations Society of India (PRSI), in collaboration with National Mineral Development Corporation (NMDC), celebrated World Public Relations Day today i.e., 16th July, 2025 with great enthusiasm and professional fervour on Wednesday evening at the Federation of Telangana Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FTCCI), Red Hills, Hyderabad. The event commemorated the legacy of Ivy Ledbetter Lee, regarded as the father of modern public relations and focused on the evolving role of Public Relations in diplomacy, governance, corporate communication and media. Delivering the keynote address, Lion Dr. Kiran Kumar, Honorary Consul of Bulgaria in Hyderabad for the State of Telangana, emphasized the critical role of public relations in nurturing trust and brand image in the society. "Public Relations is not just a communication tool, but a bridge that connects people, cultures, and countries," he remarked requesting PR professionals to take Initiative to spread positivity. He said that he had learnt a lot from PRSI to reach out people in his business development. He declared Rs 1 lakh for the PRSI corpus fund. Dr. S. Ramu, senior Journalist and Journalism educator, who presided over the programme, reflected on the significance of World Public Relations Day, highlighting the need of ethics, truth and transparency in PR practice in the highly polarized world. Dr. K. Yadagiri, Chairman of PRSI Hyderabad Chapter, spoke about PRSI's nationwide footprint and its professional development initiatives aimed at enriching PR knowledge and capabilities across sectors. Smt. Aparna Rajhans, Secretary of PRSI Hyderabad Chapter, appreciated the support extended by NMDC in co-hosting professional development programms, underlining the importance of such partnerships in elevating public relations as a strategic discipline. The celebration saw the presence of several distinguished PR practitioners, Office Bearers, Executive Committee Members National Council Representatives, Patrons and Advisors of the Chapter as well as PR & Journalism faculty and students from leading institutions. In a heartfelt felicitation, the Chapter honoured Dr. S. Ramu for his dedicated service and leadership as Chairman during the previous term. His contributions to building strong institutional partnerships and mentoring young professionals were warmly acknowledged by the fraternity.

PRSI signs MoU with St Francis College for Women
Hyderabad Chapter of Public Relations Society of India and St. Francis UG and PG College for Women, Begumpet, Hyderabad have entered into a MoU under Nalanda Forum an initiative of PRSI. In order to bridge the gap between Academia and Industry, these two entities have signed the MoU on 30th June 2025 to create "PRSI-St Francis Student Forum" in the College. "This collaboration is aimed primarily at providing hands-on learning opportunities and industry exposure for students pursuing media, communication and public relations", said Dr K Yadagiri, Secretary of Hyderabad Chapter. "Our goal is to prepare students for the professional world, and this MoU opens doors for practical experience in a dynamic field like Media & Public Relations," said Prof. T. Uma Joseph, Principal, St. Francis College for Women. The MOU was signed in the presence of Sri Y. Babji, National Legal Advisor of PRSI; Sri Krishna Baji, Convener and Dr. Fathima Raheem, Co-Convener of the Committe for PR Education of PRSI and also the Faculty of Journalism and Mass Communication of the College - Sri K. Ravi Kumar (HOD), Sri P. Clement Babu and Smt T. Suzan Spurthi. Curtain raiser for JITO Connect 2025 unveiled
The Hyderabad Chapter of Jain International Trade Organisation (JITO) hosted a vibrant and prestigious Curtain Raiser event for JITO Connect 2025, its flagship national summit scheduled to be held from October 3rd to 5th, 2025, at HITEX and HICC, Hyderabad. This power-packed evening witnessed the official launch of key summit verticals and the glamorous unveiling of The Bridal Story, a luxury wedding exhibition curated by the JITO Ladies Wing. JITO Connect 2025 is projected to be the biggest edition to date, spanning over 8 lakh sq. ft., hosting more than 1,000 business stalls and attracting over 2 lakh visitors. The summit will bring together more than 50,000 changemakers from across India and the globe, including entrepreneurs, policymakers, and innovators. It promises an enriching mix of global speaker sessions, startup showcases, business networking platforms, cultural presentations, and sectoral focus zones such as Artificial Intelligence and innovation-driven enterprises (JIIF and JITEM). Adding glamour to the evening was a vibrant fashion show, setting the stage for the official launch of The Bridal Story. Promising to be one of the most extravagant and unique wedding exhibitions, The Bridal Story will travel across cities and countries showcasing opulent bridal fashion. Designers Deepthi Reddy, Wrickie Angrish, Rosy Ahluwalia, and Pallavi Jaipur showcased their creations, offering a taste of the luxurious experience in store. The event was driven by the spirited JITO Hyderabad team led by Chairman Rohit Kothari, Chief Secretary Lalith Chopra, Treasurer Vishal Anchaliya, Vice Chairman & TNAPTS Zone Convenor B. L.
