ICC T20I Rankings: Suryakumar Yadav drops to sixth, Adil Rashid roars to no. 2
India's T20I captain, Suryakumar Yadav, has slipped out of the top five in the ICC Men's T20I Rankings for batters, while England spinner Adil Rashid has climbed to No. 2 in the bowling charts following a consistent and effective display during the recently concluded commanding 3-0 T20I series sweep over the West Indies has had a significant impact on the latest rankings, with several of their players making notable gains. The 37-year-old Rashid was the biggest mover after playing a key role across the three-match campaign. He returned figures of 1/22 at Chester-le-Street, 1/59 in a high-scoring contest in Bristol, and 2/30 in performances have propelled him past Sri Lanka's Wanindu Hasaranga and India's Varun Chakaravarthy, earning a rating of 710. Rashid's teammate Brydon Carse also rose in the bowling rankings. With two wickets across the final two matches, Carse climbed 16 places to 52nd, reaching a rating of the batting charts, Suryakumar Yadav dropped one place to sixth, overtaken by England captain Jos Buttler. Buttler, who had a strong series with the bat, now holds 772 rating points, while Suryakumar trails with Tilak Varma has capitalised on Phil Salt's one-place slide to break into the top three. With 804 rating points, Tilak now joins Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma among the leading T20I batters. Salt, following a relatively subdued series, is now ranked fourth with 791 series proved fruitful for several players. England's Ben Duckett climbed an impressive 48 places to 16th after his explosive 84 off 46 balls in the third T20I. His team-mate Harry Brook also gained ground, moving up six spots to joint-38th following knocks of 35 not out and the West Indies, captain Shai Hope made a 14-place leap to 15th, having amassed 97 runs in the series, including two innings in the 40s.
